PhilippinesUse an immigration Service
QUOTE (Art1 @ Oct 12 2009, 10:56 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi,

I was wondering how many fiancee's from the Philippines used an immigration service or did you "go it alone"?

If you used a service, do you think it was worth the money? If you had it do all over again, would you use a
service or not use a service?

If you did not use a service and had to do it all over again, would you use one?

A

Did everything on our own from the very start of our K1 process

Started on the 10/6/2008

And finally finished with my wife getting her green card on the 09/17/2009. couyld have had it sooner but we waited 2 months before getting married.

Just take your time filling out the paperwork and double check everything. Save your money for when she gets here

Philippinescredit card debts

We decided to sit down and reduce our expenses

*i removed his data plan from his celphone which is $15 per month
*removed his $2.50 yahoo messenger plan
* I reduced my netflix to one at a time for $8 a month... it used to be $40 because we get 5 at a time
* we also removed our blu ray subscription $5 per month

I am planning to also remove my gps subscription in my celphone and just buy the real gps.

(we don't have cable subscription thats why we have netflix)

All a good start and well done

but i would like to say

You are in serious debt so why do you have netflix, even for just 1 DVD? There are enough free services where you can watch TV programs online for nothing

What do you need a GPS for? Use mapquest or something simiular if you are going to travel

We don;t have cable at home and only watch stuff we download or can watch for free.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHelp VJs "Can't get through USCIS"
QUOTE (spartan @ Aug 4 2008, 06:34 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
My fiance can't get through calling USCIS, all he got was just recorded voice messages. He is living in San Mateo, California. Could anyone tell me the numbers to be dialed? Is there another number?

Needing your help,

Anna

Hi Anna

I live in San Mateo also and will be starting the K1 process shortly

what you need to do is dial

1-800-375-5283

Then dial 1-2-6-2 as the prompts come (as soon as you hear another voice!!) You will then have an agent on the line!!! You may get through to the wrong dept but just tell them your problem and they will normally help you

Good luck

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat age gap
For those interested, if any, my reason for choosing my fiancee is that I wanted someone who I could spend all my time with and not leave her at home. I still compete in ski racing, climbing and scuba diving. I spoke with numerous ladies of all ages when I was looking for a lifelong partner. Most were not interested in trying any of my activites and that is not what I wanted. I don't own a TV at home and spend as little time as possible in-doors. If I thought my age or my health would be a burden to her then I would not put her through the relationship.

Thank you to those that took the time to answer in an adult manner, whether it was complimentary or not.

My g/f is not seventeen and well over the age to marry, which I guess makes me not in my 30's either but thanks for the compliment anyway. Given that 30 - 40% of marriages fail in the UK and the USA and most of those are probably in the 2 - 5 yr age gap range, i don't really think that age has a big part to play in it

Did'nt quite expect some of the answers on this forum but what the heck!!! No offence has been taken!! If we fail the test then I sell up and retire early to the Philippines. Win win situation

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat age gap
I'm in the process of preparing my K1 visa application to bring my fiancee to the Us from the Philippines

I came to the States 5 years ago and married a US citizen. It did'nt work out for many reasons, mostly financial after she left me nearly bankrupt. She them wanted a divorce. This all happened within the space of two years.

So, I had an immigration lawyer apply on my behalf to have my conditions removed and it was done with no problems. The lawyers submitted all the evidence that i entered into the marriage in good faith and it was accepted.

Now, I've been dating my Filipina g/f for two years, I've been to visit her 4 times. Two weeks ago I was granted my US citizenship.

I've been told by a few people that I will already have a red flag against my name because of the previous marriage and any other red flag may cause problems. One of them being a large age difference. There is an age gap of 25 years for us.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion 18 I-129F
QUOTE (StoryAngel @ Aug 5 2008, 06:18 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
The requirement for the I-129F is that you have met personally within the last 2 years. We put a brief description of how we met in the first place, then a little information on the subsequent times we'd spent time together.

Thanks for the help

so if I just put on the form that....

I met Donesa through an introduction agency and started writing to her in June of 2006 and then visited her on 4 different occasions in the Philippines, in January 2007, November 2007, April 2008 and July 2008.

This will suffice, or will i need a bot more detail about each trip, where we went and what we did etc?

Thanks again for all the help

Martin

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion 18 I-129F
I'm about to start proccesing my K1 visa for my filipina fiancee and I just need to know what to put for question 18 on the I-129F form which says

QUOTE
Describe the circumstances under which you met. If you have not personally met each other, explain how the relationship was
established. If you met your fiancé(e) or spouse though an international marriage broker, please explain those circumstances in
Question 19 below. Explain also in detail any reasons you may have for requesting that the requirement that you and your
fiancé(e) must have met should not apply to you.

Does this mean to include information about all our trips and meeting with her (I've met with her 4 times in 2 yrs)

-or-

Just about how we met at the start, for example, through a dating agency like filipinaheart or cherryblossom and just describe how you picked her out and started writing to her

Thank You

Martin
