We filed our I-129F in May (NSC) and received the NOA1 on the 24th of May. It was touched once on the 30th of May. And nothing since then...
I am pretty sure that it was transferred to CSC (did anyone who filed at NSC get a notice about it being transferred to CSC?!).
We are still waiting for the NOA2.

:(

You may have wanted to make this a new post instead of a reply to an unrelated post.

Anyway all Marriage based I-129F petitions sent to NSC and TSC get forwarded to CSC, from many posts I have been seeing lately they are working on cases around the time frame of your case.

umm it was related  ... I did file in May (as was asked by I_love_cuddlebug)
But anyway... thanks for the reply

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTransferred Petitions
Rather than take any drastic measures, I decided to call them up. I asked whether my case was transferred (since I didn't receive a notice like devilette) and after a minute or two I was told that it was indeed in California.

About 2 hours ago, I received the following email. I've read it over many times. The first time I read it, I thought it meant that they requested more evidence, but by the third time I changed my mind.

Is it safe to assume that it just means they answered my question or plan to snail mail me a copy of the notice or something? Can anyone else help me rule out the "request for more info" idea? I'm at an all time confidence low at the moment...

Much appreciated. :)
Mawa

I created one right at the get go! (thats how I figured that it was last touched on the 30th)

But I've never received a notice or anything of that sort!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTransferred Petitions
YuAndDan was right... I should create my own thread of questions rather than spam on the other one.

Here are a few to get us started:

Is there any way of knowing (short of calling up USCIS) whether your application was transferred?
Did anyone get a notice? Or did everyone just figure it out by googling or VJ?

Also, did the transfer indirectly cause all transferred applications to be "touched"?
Because the one and only touch I know of is prior to the transfer... should I be worried?

Thanks in advance!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCouple questions
Oh my god! I have the same question...

My fiance is from the UK, can he apply for a police record earlier in order to speed up the process? or are they going to ask for certain identification on why he needs it?

Before I totally call it a night... I was wondering. If it indeed is simply the IMBRA supplement RFE, can I resend it, as well as addition info (I went to visit him for a month in July)? Or should I just send back what they simply ask for...

I'm just trying to think ahead. In anticipation of counteracting a possible 2nd RFE...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSomething Concrete, Finally
The more I've surfed the through the pages about the IMBRA supplement on VJ, the faster I've come to realize that I should have been expecting it. (had I put more time into VJ... rather than just skim to see what dates were getting approved)

With each and every post I read, I emailed my fiance... lol
I'm sort of like that. And I think it in a way, will cause him to heave a huge sigh of relief before he even hears about the initial shock I was in.

Oh I love the source of info this site offers!!! Ahhhh... it's overwhelmingly awesome.

Thanks a whole lot you guys... and TucsonBill, I've just come to realize why you were excited about your RFE... hehe... Congrats :) (I guess)...

I can finally sleep... I've got a few classes tomorrow... *yawn*
Not to mention a long chat with the love of my life, barely hanging on in England...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSomething Concrete, Finally
I'm trying my best to look at the bright side of things, but it's darn hard! I can't help the tears of frustration. I'm a bit apprehensive about what my fiance's reaction will be (I JUST received the notice and forwarded it with a loving note to him). Everything was riding on an approval, or a decision to say the least. I had to do quite a lot of the "don't worry, things'll work out" to keep both of our morale's up. I wasn't quite ready for this.

I'm trying my best not to get discouraged. I'm elated that my case is, in fact being processed. But how will it hinder the road ahead? Will the wait be even longer. Oh gosh I'm terrified...

Much love,
Mawa :clock:

PS - just received 3 additional emails from CRIS to the initial 2 from USCIS-CSSO, do they scorn me? :(

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresOddly Enough, Tuesdays and Wednesdays hold a new meaning for me...
I thought I'd point out an ironically odd occurance I just figured out.

If you check my signature you can view the dates regarding my k1 application. If you check it up with the days of the week, you would get:

5-24-06 (Wednesday) NOA1
5-30-06 (Tuesday) Touched
9-19-06 (Tuesday) Touched (after calling to inquire about whether or not I-129F was transferred)
9-20-06 (Wednesday) Touched
9-26-06 (Tuesday) Touched
9-27-06 (Wednesday) Touched
10-3-06 (Tuesday) Touched (RFE sent from CSC)
10-4-06 (Wednesday) Touched

Looks like my adjucating officer works on my case, Tuesdays and Wednesdays (I caught whiff of the pattern by the 26th of Sept. and confirmed it on the 3rd of Oct.)

Interesting, eh? I was almost let down when I checked it on the 3rd, but it was updated at around 12am, which is when I received the 5 emails regarding the RFE. I enjoy "knowing" when to expect a touch... :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSending out the response to RFE
For those who have responded to RFE's... how do you recommend we send them out?

Specific Questions:

Should I use the enclosed reply envelope to send it back?

If yes, will I be able to send it out in that envelope via USPS Express?
Or will I need to stuff it in the provided envelope and stuff that into USPS's provided envelope?

Should I include my own cover letter?

Any other advice, other than marking the envelope with ATTN: RFE and the case number in red?

Thanks in advance!

You know the saying about patience being a virtue? Well the old-timers, and the rest of us that are beginning to show signs of aging (re:noa1 times) are being (or are forced to be) sinfully patient.

In lieu of the fact that I called about my RFE and discovered it had been received, but did not get the notice until days later, I called becuase of the touches I've been getting and discovered I'd been approved!!! The person at USCIS confirmed there was a problem with the notification system, but confrimed that my application was approved and that I should receive my NOA2 soon :)

Realistically, you should just keep the 6 month guarantee by USCIS in mind as your definite processing time. Thus, whatever you find on VJ is definately LOADS easier to take (it's easier to give and take a month or two!)... And the actual NOA2, an even better surprise which I have yet to taste.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresImmigrant or Non-immigrant Visa?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresImmigrant or Non-immigrant Visa?
Gotcha...

I wasn't sure whether to direct my fiance to the immigrant waiting line (usually around 20ppl) or the non-immigrant line (around 400ppl).

He tried out the non-immigrant travel visa and that didn't work out due to insufficient ties. This time around, ties are negligible. And the immigrant or intent to become an immigrant, aspect is apparent.

The whole 'getting approved yet not marrying' defeats the purpose of the visa, I reckon. (or at least the reason for them going through the hassle of approving it) I bet they try their 'utter best' to discern your relationship's grounds before approving or denying.
sweetnsaltyFemale02006-10-27 00:40:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresImmigrant or Non-immigrant Visa?
Is it possible that it could be both? I just found this in the US Department of State website:

A Fiancé(e) Is Also an Immigrant

Because a fiancé(e) visa permits the holder to immigrate to the U.S. and marry an American citizen shortly after arrival in the United States, the fiancé(e) must meet some of the requirements of an immigrant visa.

http://travel.state....types_2994.html

Although the heading of the document is: Nonimmigrant Visa for a Fiance(e) (K-1)

For those that have gone to the interview, did you wait as a nonimmigrant visa beneficiary or an immigrant visa beneficiary?!

I guess I just got my answer from the embassy's website. Perhaps it varies in each embassy.

The K1 visa is listed under immigrant visa's.
http://www.usembassy.../iv/fiance.html

(left side, under subheading immigrant visa, you will find that it states: K-1 Visa - for Fiancé(e)s)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresImmigrant or Non-immigrant Visa?
Is the K1 an immigrant or non-immigrant visa? I did come across a few posts stating that it was a non-immigrant. However, when I was reading the reviews from UK's london embassy to prep my fiance... a few mentioned that they were given immigrant visa 'ticket numbers' for the wait during the interview. So, which is it?

I'm thinking that it indeed is the immigrant...

Apparently, a few members mentioned that you can get the case number from the back of the copy of the check that was deposited (the copy of it that goes to your bank).

I wasn't a VJ member back in May so I just waited for the NOA1....

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMissing "admitted" passport stamp during POE to US.
I live in Detroit and I visited my Fiance twice this year. The first time was the formal engagement (right before we applied) and the second was because I missed him. The last time I visited him, my passport wasn't stamped when I got back (DTW).

Since I didn't send in copies of my passport stamps as primary evidence, it was requested as part of the IMBRA RFE I received. However, they did not have a problem with two uk stamps and one detroit entry stamp.

I think you'll do just fine without it. Just my humble opinion... :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresG-325 - Alien Registration Number ???
http://www.visajourn...mp;#entry540910
:)

I'm confused now. What exactly is File Number A (on the G235A)? I thought it was different than Alien registration number, but apparently YuAndDan thinks otherwise. More opinions?

sealedkiss.

That A number is the Alien registration number. On my fiance(e) G-325A form We put "NONE" since she would not have one until after the petition was filed. NOTE: the G-325A form gets used again when we file for Adjustment of status, at that time we will put her A# in that box. See example G-325A form under the AOS section. http://www.visajourn...-G-325A-aos.pdf

One last thing Hypothetically, If my fiance(e) had visited the USA on a work or student visa she would have an A# before we filed the petition and in that case instead of "NONE" we would have entered the Alien registration number from the work or student visa.

Nothing to be confused about.

I totally agree, however there were a few posts that I came across a while back where the OP talked about getting an RFE for the original petitioner's birth certificate. I was confused as to why they didn't send it in, in the first place.

But yup, I don't think it hurts to send more info... but there's no need for too much extra stuff (the adjudicating officer has to dig through all of it)...
