Australia and New ZealandPolice fingerprint/name check in Sydney

your welcome!, I think I read on here somewhere that certain states it gets mailed straight to the consulate and other states it goes to you

interesting that the cost varies from state to state too, ours was $120 all up

Australia and New ZealandPolice fingerprint/name check in Sydney

hi

my husband and I jumped the gun a bit and had the police check done already, you get a certificate not a copy of your fingerprints, and it should come straight to you. The paperwork has a water mark etc...and I would imagine is the document that you will need to take in hand. oh, wait, did you have it done in usa or Australia??

hope this helps

razspaz13FemaleAustralia2013-12-13 03:59:00
Australia and New Zealandanyone obtained police fingerprint/name check in NSW for K-1 visa?

My understanding is that you need the Australian FEDERAL police check, it depends on what state you live in if the results are posted to you or to Canberra

your local police station can do the fingerprints, however, as we were told "our police station is not always manned with those that can do the fingerprinting"

cheers

having flown back and forth aus to usa and also shipped, I pack as much as possible in suitcases and pay the extra to take more bags, sea mail may be an option but it takes 3 months, remember too your final destination some us airlines charge for each bag

my family keep saying can't you just get the stuff stateside?? ahhh, NO not all of it LOL, although am looking forward to buying new items, our lounge suite is showing its age after 15 yrs but will sorely miss the beautiful qld made queen bed and dresser

Australia and New ZealandWay Down the Road...

snag

from the first time my aussie hubby visited the usa he was amazed at the prices of everything

with economy of scale, think of the 335 million population vs 25 million and how people in each country spends......

moved to oz in 1999 from usa, and overall the three biggest costs I believe now are

housing affordability, be it buying or renting... HUGE

petrol/cars

utilities/food

we have lived in two states in OZ, and it is not getting any easier.

private health insurance has gone up every year since its intro in 2000

the job situation in oz is not great either with many companies letting people go, in the hundreds and thousands......

no easy answers, I suppose you have to accept that Australia is very expensive to live in

wait till you see the price of a dozen eggs if soft drink got to you!! LOL (or as my sister said "wow a carton of beer here is crazy")

best of luck

cheers from down under

Australia and New Zealandsuper and liquid assets? help!!!! please!!

lil, have already taken money out of super yes it can be done, there are some reasons and it has to be documented, there is a dollar limit too

darin, thank you thank you so much, have looked at the info it seems to have a lot of variables, I guess perhaps the most important is what decision will be made, just knowing that some have accepted it is some good news. yes, it is for the Australian home. we have two cars that we own outright and are looking at selling one of those now.

appreciate any and all replies!!

cheers

Australia and New Zealandsuper and liquid assets? help!!!! please!!

has anyone used the amount in their super as part of their liquid assets?

currently you can withdraw money from your super ( although be it a tax penalty)

we are afraid that with no sponsor and our house not yet sold, we should show the money in our super or maybe even take some out....

has anyone used their primary residence only in the affidavit of support?

head spinnin' and worrying....

cheers

Australia and New ZealandPacket 3

oh salt I did that once with inbox email, we just don't think to look there but then remember after having something missing just once I think!

I am wondering why when I check online it says that the nvc provided me with an interview date for Sydney and they didn't..... and my case was sent to the Sydney consulate and I believe received at this stage a week plus ago and I have received nothing from them at all.....

razspaz13FemaleAustralia2014-05-25 16:29:00
Australia and New Zealandpolice checks australia

no worries sweet it's a bit like that...

one thing we didn't know, not all aussie police stations/locations do the fingerprinting

we just got a certificate posted to us that said name and fingerprint all good blah blah, it has watermarks and other security features

yes have been told the check can take up to 4 weeks, ours took 2 1/2.......

how did the way of doing things at Sydney change?

just curious.....

not sure I helped you at all, the nvc seems so much more full on that first stage NOA1 stuff ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh LOL

razspaz13FemaleAustralia2014-05-11 08:57:00
Australia and New Zealandpolice checks australia

kristy the answer seems to vary widely, we did the fingerprint just to make sure.

I can't seem to get an answer if there is a time expiration for the check, some say 6 months, some say 1 yr, some say none. the consulate gives one answer, immigration another, and aussie police another LOL

think we did the same as maree getting ahead LOL, when you rang what did they say?

cheers

Australia and New ZealandQuestions re: the new Packet 3 process for the U.S. Consulate in Sydney!

thanks mate

there seems to be no new process for the packet three for IR-1.......

yep all organised and done, had hoped it would be "please bring all your paperwork to interview", but not the case

was all sent express post and waiting for interview date.......

yep, don't think "only on a tues" will do for an expedite and the next lot of school holidays are approaching

we have to do our medical in Sydney as our state doesn't offer any place so rather than do two flights, we are patiently waiting for interview date to book in medical so we don't have to pay for two lots of flights to Sydney and have been told the medical is only valid for 6 months too

any new things with interview process?

Australia and New ZealandUpdated Australia Police Certification info - May 2014

yeah the conflicting makes it hard

sukie......... how long is the fingerprint valid till?

I ask as we had it done and is dated nov 7, if it is only 6 months would have to do it again at $120 (in the state we are in)

if valid for a year all is good, I think.......... LOL

LOL sorry just read above, going on 4 hrs sleep no excuse haaaaaaaa

razspaz13FemaleAustralia2014-05-08 16:34:00
Australia and New ZealandUpdated Australia Police Certification info - May 2014

I can't answer that as am not that far

what did you give nvc donkey? fingerprints or just name?

I am not sure if the checks are valid for 6 months or 1 year?......

razspaz13FemaleAustralia2014-05-08 16:22:00
Australia and New ZealandUpdated Australia Police Certification info - May 2014

Sukie

thanks for posting

we did fingerprints and name check in our state and it was $120 for  both

my question....... Understand the check is only valid for 6 months, which ours was done 7 nov, as we have now been shipped to the NVC, would that mean we have to pay $120 to have both done again, or just the name check one?

thank you

razspaz13FemaleAustralia2014-05-08 04:47:00
Australia and New Zealandlength of validity for police check australia

had fingerprint and name police check done dated 7 November 2013 when the first package was sent. The fingerprint cost was $120 that including name as well.

as it is now 6 months later, will the nvc require just a name check or will another full one be required? I have had no luck in getting through on the number in the US and thought perhaps someone else would have in the past few months gone through the process.

cheers
