National Visa Center (Dept of State)I-864 checklist received - need some clarification
iKHiNG, I got the same checklist, did you send a 1040? or just a w2? I sent both, original w2 and a 1040. The only problem is that the 1040 is only signed by me, since i had filed for an extension and my wife is still not here yet. The interesting thing is that for 2012 I had sent a w7 to request a ITIN for my wife and got refused, the following week I get a check in the mail with both my name and my wife's name. I just hope they dont give me another checklist, that will add another 30 business to this long wait.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsMay 2013 I-130 Filers

Approved!!! I was driving home from work tonight and Im talking to my wife...got a text and an email that our I-130 has been approved!!! PD May 31 2013...what a wait!!! Now on to NVC, THANK GOD!!!

Those of you that are still waiting, all I can say is PATIENCE, LOTS OF PATIENCE...IF YOU HAVE NON...BORROW SOME FROM YOUR NEIGHBOR.

We sent our I-130 then I-129f (just in case) found out the I-129f was a waste of paper (for us)...although at one point were told due to the back log of I-130's most likely our I-129f was going to go through but both apps ended up at NBC (Nebraska)...from there...last month (DEC 31) they were transferred to Texas (TSC)-I LOVE YOU TEXAS!!!

God bless ya'll and happy JOURNEY

loveisblind, I wouldnt worry about your wife being in Pakistan for "a few months" as long as she can show that shes able to support you, meaning, having a job when USCIS requests the I-864, usually the NVC will send you a request.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsMay 2013 I-130 Filers

loveisblind, im sure she can show proof that she was working in Pakistan even if its only for a few months. If im not mistaken, the I-864 Affidavit of support (USCIS) is looking at work history (tax files) and current employment. A couple of months wont hurt...If i could take off of work for a month or more i would do so...unfortunately I cant...sometimes I have to hop on a plane for only a weekend.

Best of Luck

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsMay 2013 I-130 Filers

After several vacation trips in 2012 and several phone calls to USCIS,on DEC 30 we finally received a transfer notice: from MSC to TSC...hopefully this doesnt take much longer.

Back in Nov I spoke with a level 2 and she told me that I-130s were backlogged (no kidding), but said that since we had sent an I-129f it was going to go faster. But DEC 30 I received 2 transfer notices, one for the I-130 and 1 for the I-129F-im guessing they bundled them together. Im hoping Texas Service Center will be a smoother ride.

Good luck to all May Filers...and lots of patience :-)

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresInterview and tax filing extension (split topic)

How about at the time of interview? what document do we present? NVC already completed my case...Im just concerned that the extension wont do it. I do have a copy of the 1040 form which i havent mailed, it will be due in October-I do have the last 3 years of tax transcripts, 2012,2011 and 2010 plus pay stubs...2013 w2 and thats about it. Im just worried that the Embassy will not approve our visa for something minimal. Has anyone gone through this before, with an extension?

NVC will take a bit...when they ask you to send them any documents it takes them a solid 30 days to review...business days. Be patient.

here are the links that you want to read carefully-the US Embassy list is not up to date and you have to sign up for cargo express, I spoke with the Embassy directly and its not optional anymore. Also, the birth certificate for the beneficiary (forma literal) is not the one needed, however we are still taking it. The one they require is in long form or copy of Book of Marriages in spanish called ?folio del libro de nacimiento?

According the Embassy NVC website's the originals get returned at the interview. Personally I got 4 originals of everything and their respective copies.
Tonight I will send you a couple of links that will help you. For example, There is an updated list for the interview that is not updated on the Embassy website. Ttyl.

The other issue is that NVC may not even send you a request for the documents they need. After you pay you all your fees (AOS Fee, IV fee). Calling them helps and also following the DPT of State (NVC) website will help tremendously http://travel.state....ments/fees.html

Birth and marriage certificates dont expire, however you will need to send another original birth and marriage certificates when the NVC sends you a request.
