ChinaCGI CITIC Bank and Guangzhou Embassy relationship

SNAFU - I am referring to our government. My fiancée went to her interview and was interrogated by a Chinese woman in the so called American Embassy.  She said the majority of the employees are Chinese, even the police.  Am I missing something?

Anyway this woman was very rude and was not very helpful.  When the interview was finished the woman shoved a paper at her and did not say a thing.  My finance left the embassy not understanding what to do.  On the website it says if she is declined the interviewer will explain what she has to do.  That did not happen.

She was turned down because the woman did not like my 2012 Tax transcript.  She wanted a copy of my complete 2012 tax return.  So I got online to find out the whole process of what happens now.  The paper was white and nowhere did it nave a number 221g which is supposedly what the paper was.  After going to ustraveldocs.com I found out what needed to happen.  I sent her a copy of my 2012 tax return.  She took that and the other documents requested with her passport and headed to Beijing to the CITIC Bank which said on the website they would expedite the paperwork.

There were only five CITIC BANK'S in China that would do this.  The bank did not have a clue what she was talking about and after going around and around they gave her the address to put on the envelope and told her to put it in the mailbox.  I don't know if the US Government is communicating with the Chinese but it sure doesn't sound like it.  The mew process with CGI Stanley is more screwed up than ever and it was supposed to make it simpler.  I was not happy about her dropping her passport in the mail.  I would have felt much better if she would have used EMS.  According to the ustraveldocs website she was supposed to just drip off her paperwork, get a receipt and be on her way.  So now I am left to worry whether the paperwork and her passport will make it to the embassy.

Congratulations! I was beginning to wonder if we were ever going to hear some news. It has been 2 days shy of 5 months since NAO1. I wish you the best.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsk1 visa

I sent my I-129F to the California Service Center 7 Nov 12. They received it 15 Nov 12. Like you I am still waiting to hear some news. From what I have been reading it has been taking roughly around seven and a half months for the NAO2. I know it is hard but be patient it will happen but not as soon as we all would like it.

Thank you for the info. Getting her daughter to the embassy for the interview would be quite tough because she is currently living with her deceased husband's sister 5000 miles away.

No problem. On the DS-156K form you list which of the children you want to have a K-2 issued to.
Then you also list which of them Will Join the K-1 on their trip and which Will Follow later, within a year of the K-1 visa issuance.

For most Embassies, the K-2s that Will Follow, do not have to attend the K-1 interview but will have (depending on age) their own interview to attend when it is time it issue their K-2 (decided by the K-1 emailing the Embassy with the suggested date of issuance).

Thank you for the info.

ya, there's some problems to overcome.

first, if there's a set of documents on the K-2, ie - DS-156/7 and DS-230,
and the child doesn't show up for interview day
you have to tell the Consular Officer
to NOT put in the K-2 docs in the visa packet for the K-1.

IF they put it in the K-1's visa packet - the child cannot come through a POE.

Second - a K-2 (and a K-1) has about 6 months from visa issuance date to come into the USA. If yer delaying only 4 months, it makes a load of sense to go to the interview then the k-2 travel 4 months later.

Third - if the K-2 wannabe doesn't come to the interview, then ya still gotta have an interview on the K-2 - it's really hard to get in the queue unless GUZ IV actually knows about the K-2 (from paperwork, from email, fees paid, etc)

Then there's the medical exam - gotta have one of those also - usually gotten before the interview.

Good Luck ! You've some choices to make !

Will there be a problem if the child does not go to the interview at the embassy with her mother and she comes to America first then we go back and get her daughter three or four months later?
