K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTechnical question concerning G325A PDF
QUOTE (bamboo88 @ Nov 15 2007, 06:35 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Thanks to the discussions here, I've got my G325A all filled out.

I use a Mac and used Adobe Acrobat Reader V.8 to fill out the form.
The problem is there are several lines where the information I've input (addresses are long in China!) does not completely fit in the space provided. I can keep typing, and if I look the information is there. But, once I move to another field, the information is trucated, but there is a little black box with a white plus mark in it.

I thought that perhaps when I printed the form, it would do something like make the field bigger, or print smaller so it would all show, but it does not.

Is there something I need to do get all the information to print, or do I need to go back and edit the document and use abbreviations so that everything fills in the space provided.

thanks in advance
Michael

Google search PDF editors. You can change the size fonts to better fit the long addresses in space provided.

Visit USCIS.gov site.
Register & set up your portfolio using your receipt number.

Example of a receipt number: WAC1234567890

Yeah, I just did that. It says "Received and Pending" just like it's said for the past 4 months.

Does the "touched" status appear when you check the case status by typing in the receipt number?

Sorry, it's just that I've never seen "touched" on my status anywhere :-(

this is the exact link : https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/logoff.do

Case Status Portfolio with Updates via Email
USCIS Customers (single applicant) and Representatives (representing many cases, such as lawyers, charitable groups, or corporations) who require regular access to status information about multiple cases can create an account to more conveniently access this information. The services provided are identical, except Representatives may also enter their own internal office tracking number with each receipt number.

In addition, you can choose to receive automatic case status updates, which will be sent via email.

* Create/Edit customer portfolio account
* Create/Edit representative portfolio account
* Login to an existing account.

It actually doesn't say "touched" but if you check your status regularly, you will notice that the "last date updated" changes.

Just create your own portfolio.

Good luck

They are not identical copies, the G-325A form is a 4 page form, fill out page 1 and print all 4 pages, each page has different department boxes for different parts of USCIS, DOS, and Consulate.

Do not fill out page 1 and make 3 photo copies of page 1, they need page 1,2,3 and 4.

For instance the G-325A form submitted are 4 copies yet the pages are not exactly 1, 2, 3, and 4. Is this reason enough for the service center to send RFE to the petitioner for the correct pages of such form?

Laura/Nick are right - you can prepare by just making sure you get the forms filled in correctly - then at least if there is a problem you have already dealt with it and hopefully it shouldn't delay things much more than the post would normally! biggrin.gif

Of course with the USPS that might not fill you with hope and joy laughing.gif

Since all the initial paperworks were already submitted, am I just being paranoid here in wondering if we are going to get an RFE?

hmmm...I really don't know. I'd wait it out and see what happens. You could get a new G325A filled out and printed making sure it's all 4 pages just in case. That way if you get an RFE, you have the information all ready to pop back in the mail. It shouldn't delay the process too much, probably just by a couple of weeks.

Right, so what he's saying is...when you fill it in, don't just print off the first page you filled out 4 times. If you did it online using the Guides here at VJ or even straight off of the USCIS website, it auto fills in the other 3 pages and you print all 4 of those. At the bottom of each page they are labeled already.

(1) Ident
(2) Rec. Br.
(3) C.
(4) Consulate

The info on all 4 pages are the same, the numbering at the bottom is the only difference.
Smiles to you

I'm not quite sure I understand the question. Are you asking if they aren't labeled "1" "2" "3" "4" you'll get an RFE?
If that's the question, no you won't get an RFE for not numbering the pages.

In addition, to what others have mentioned, it doesn't really matter if a petition is approved 2 or 5 months after filing.

I noticed that there were some that got approved before us even though we filed months before them but still the interview schedules falls on the same month.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCan a Beneficiary cancel the K1 visa process?
You may likely get your approval in the next weeks since you are already 5 months into the process. If you haven't sign up in USCIS for updates you may want to do that. Once the I-129F petition is approved you can then go ahead email the service center that you are going to cancel the said petition. Include information such as full names, date of births, (your)country and case number of beneficiary and petitioner.
That is if your petitioner is not willing to withdraw the petition himself. It won't hurt sending the email yourself though.Posted Image

Formally cancelling the petition will be vital in an event that you won't have any problems if you are petitioned by another US citizen in the future. I have heard /read of two cases in the US Embassy Manila. The petitions weren't formally withdrawn by the previous petitioners. The beneficiaries were found ineligible to receive visas during their interviews. The files/petitions were returned/sent back to the service centers pending further processing. One eventually had a 2nd interview & got approved while the other one I don't know what the outcome was since she hasn't returned to the forum to update her case.

Certificate of Legal Capacity to Marry is only needed if they are applying for a marriage license & getting married in the Philippines. The OP is applying for K-1 Visa.

I have looked over the samples and still had a few questions on the DS-156 form.

It asks my fiance's present occupation so I wrote unemployed but where it asks for his present employers or school should I write "none" or "n/a"? Write NONE

Under Marital Status I wrote divorced then the next question asks for - Spouse's full name (even if divorced or separated. Include maiden name). Someone here on vj told me to write none since he is divorced but I think I am supposed to write his ex's information since it says even if divorced. Can someone please clarify this for me. Write the ex-wife's full name

Question 36 asks has anyone ever filed an Immigrant Visa Petition on your behalf. I was going to write no since this is the first time anyone has applied for him or do I put yes since I am petitioning for him? Write NO

Thank you guys for all your help!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSo this is my case

you cannot get married while she is here on a visitor visa and have her adjust status, that is fraud, you can marry and then she will have to return home while u file the paperwork. The best way for you to marry her is to go to her country, then you return alone and file the i130/cr1 visa. If your girlfriend comes to this country on any type of visa with the intention of marrying and staying then adjusting status, is visa fraud and carries a lifetime ban.

It is the other way around. The OP is from Brazil.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresForm G325A

I do have a quick question about Form G-325A:

On the fifth row of the form, first block it reads 'Former Husbands or Wives (If none, so state) Family Name (For wife, give maiden name)

I am divorced. I need to enter her maiden name in that block correct? I'm asking because on the form it does not ask if this is a former wife or husband. I entered her maiden name and in parenthesis I entered (Former wife).

The 4th and 5th blocks ask for the Date and Place of Marriage and the next block asks for Termination of Marriage. The online form does not allow you to type in all the information so I had to write in by hand the location in both of these blocks. Is this acceptable?

I have not sent the forms yet.

You have already indicated in the gender section that you are a male, So no need to write former wife. Her name will do. Posted Image

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhy can't the k-1 visa's be processed first come, first serve basis????

Guys! I started appreciating the fact that this process is so long. I think they are doing this on purpose, and the purpose is good.
1) For people that did not spend enough time together it allows to test their feelings.
2) For fraudulent applications it allows to weed-out fraud.
3) For people that know each other well it allows to think about their relationship and teach TO APPRECIATE EACH OTHER! This is true for my case. I learned how much I appreciate my fiancee. We will not waste our lives arguing. We will enjoy every second together!
In either case this is good!

Hey,

Well i got an email tonight from the USCIS...thought and hoped it was going to be an approval, but instead its an RFE..I guess we have to wait till I get the letter to see what the reason is.

I read the RFE thread, but was wondering if I should be nervous? I looked over my pack and have no idea why we got one...Im really nervous. What if I cant get the info they request?

I THINK ive read somewhere that depending on how long it takes for me to get the things they need, shortly after they receive the info from the RFE they make a decision?

I need people to calm my nerves.... :help:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK-1 Visa: Should I bother?

I say go for the K-1 -- I think it's reasonable for people not to keep ticket stubs and all of the recommended secondary evidence you will read about online.

Good luck!

I think the airline ticket stubs actually count as primary evidence, along with passport stamps, boarding tickets and receipts from hotels and other local establishments you spent time in. But if you don't have them, that's fine. At the very least, you should have the passport stamps.

Photos, on the other hand, are secondary. I wouldn't worry about them so much for the petition approval (we only sent one and got approved) but they might be more important for the consulate interview, because an objective there is to establish that petitioner and beneficiary have a bonafide, ongoing relationship. Photos can include not only those of the couple together but with the fiancee's relatives and friends.

Grace

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHelp me put Igor's List in perspective?

It's clearly a very small percentage of the total number waiting to be processed at the VSC, but just how small a percentage? I'd be especially interested to hear from anyone who already has their NO2; where were you in Igor's List when you got approved?

I think we we're at #45. Got our petition approval a day after the 5-month mark (CSC).

One thing you should also remember is that not everyone religiously updates their timelines. It doesn't mean that all those couples ahead of you in the list are still waiting for their approvals. They could have just forgotten or didn't bother to update.

On the other hand, you will also see the list shortening without any actions at all from those ahead in the queue because those past the normal processing time get transferred to another list below.

It might be more useful to look at the timelines of those who do update, if they approximate yours, rather than worry about your place in the list, although it does give a psychological boost to see yourself rising several notches every now and then.

To get the K-1 visa, vaccination is optional. If you decide to have them during your medical, they're part of the fee. No need to pay extra.

During the medical, there is an immunization interview where a health personnel will determine which vaccines you should have, based on your immunization and personal medical history.

If you choose to get vaccinated during your medical, they may not give you all the needed shots because some vaccines require two doses, with the second dose to be administered after a suitable time interval. That means you may have to get them later from another health provider other than the clinic doing the K-1 medical.

Speaking based on my experience in the Philippines. Not sure if there will be differences elsewhere.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresphotos as evidence of meeting....

Just be aware that the interviewer will be behind a glass window with a very narrow opening allowing nothing as big as a scrapbook to pass through it.

:D :D I guess it'll just be a wonderful but useless keepsake then. Worth a try.

It was also a way of coping with the 5+ months of waiting for the petition approval and now the interview, visa processing etc.
