Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 April 2014 Filers

I understand how frustrated you are :(

I filed my application to CSC. I have never gotten my bio letter. After 30 days since my NOA1 date, I called USCIS and placed a service request. I got a letter from them about 15 days later, but it said that I attended my local office and did my bio which I never did. I called USCIS and talked to tier 2 person about the letter. She told me my bio was current and finally got my new case # from her to track my GC status. You should be able to get yours too.

When I called them, I asked the tier 2 person like "Could I get my new case # please? I heard that the ROC applicants usually get a new case # with a bio letter, but I do not get the letter. I would like to truck my case status online."

She said "sure".

She gave me my new case # right away.

Hope this helps. Good Luck  :D

Thank you so much Nene, it was very helpful.  The call centre cannot give me my new case # until Vermont actually do something about the Bio, like mark it as current or send out a letter.  But I will certainly call them back and try again.  The person I spoke to at the call centre told me they had nothing on my case other than the NOA1 number and that my case was still active.

She couldn't give me an updated Case # at that time.  But soon as they respond to my service request I will call them and keep calling til i get someone who can give me the proper case # so I can track online.

Thanks again mate, it lowers my stress a little to know I'm not the only one and there is a solution  :)

From what I'm reading, it must be a Vermont thing.  I filed 13th April 2014 and never received my Bio appointment letter.  The receipt number on the NOA i received is only valid for filing, don't get the real case number until the bio letter, which, fo course, 3 months and several phone calls later i STILL do not have.

Had to call again today.  They put in a service request, so now I have to sit around and wait another 30 days to see if it turns up.

Maybe it's like some others on here and my biometrics are current and not required, but without that case number on the biometrics letter, I cannot check what's happening with my application, and neither can the call centre so they tell me.

Seriously, if they are saying that peoples biometrics are current, shouldn't they send that out as an NOA within that first 30 days to let people know so they at least have the correct recepit number and don't spend weeks freaking out that they've missed the letter or it's been lost somewhere and worrying that their case might be considered abandoned  by USCIS?

Ok, rant over.. I feel better now.  :)

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsThe unfairness of it all

I really feel for you mate.  I can't say that I know exactly how you feel, but I do understand the frustration of the process and the heartbreak at being away from your husband for so long.  It's very stressful.  For us, it didn't take that long, but it wasn't 39 days either  :)   I came on a K1 visa, and was from Australia (which is classed as a fairly low risk country) so the process was quicker for us.
I sincerely hope that things speed up for you both and you can be together soon.  Stay strong, our thoughts will be with you :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsWaiting for my divorce to go through before I can even START!
Hi Tracey :)

You can start getting together the paperwork and evidence that you need, but you cannot lodge a 129F while you are still legally married to someone else.

One of the documents you need to provide with your 129F is a "letter of intent", which is basically a simple letter from each of you stating that you are 'legally able and willing to marry' the other person within 90 days of entering the USA.

I know it's really hard when you're waiting on one thing before you can even start, but better to wait just a little longer than have them deny your application.

I wish you both all the best :) Good luck :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsUSCIS CASE STATUS UNDER MAINTENANCE? OR DOWN?

We have had issues accessing the USCIS website for updates on our daughter's AOS too.  For some reason, some people who filed in February/March cannot access their file online at all, or through the automated phone service.

I called the USCIS and spoke to someone there twice in the past 3 months, and they have assured me that our application is fine, nothing negative, just that they are having issues with some people accessing it.

Thought I'd post it here in case others are having a similar issue.  :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsMy Sydney K1 Visa Interview Experience

These reviews are a godsend to those of us who are going on interviews.  I remember reading through them all when I did my interview day.  VJ was a lifesaver for me when I went through the process a few years ago.  It can be daunting and stressful and overwhelming to say the least when you first start the journey.

Thanks for adding your review too, future applicants will truly appreciate it.  And no, it wasn't too long, the more information the better I think!

Grats on your visa, I wish you all the best  :)

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresG-325A Form
I also found I did not have enough room on the form to fill in these details.

I wrote in the space provided "Please see G-325A supplement attached", and then I attached a separate sheet of paper that I wrote the details on and printed with the heading printed "G-325A Supplement, Question (whatever question number it is) - Former spouses". I also included my reference number from the consulate.

I included the name of my former spouse, the date of the marriage/divorce, and the city, state and country. I did not abbreviate anything because I had plenty of space to type it out in a word document on the computer to print up.

They did not have any issue when I submitted the forms at all. As long as you make a note on the form at that question to explain there's a supplement attached to your form and make sure it's clear on the supplement you type up what question it is, they shouldn't have a problem with it. US Consulate in Australia accepted mine submitted that way.

Hope that helps. Good luck :)

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresds 230 part 1 question no 2 compare to g-325a
On both forms you are supposed to list any other name you have used before (maiden name if you've been previously married, tribal name, legal name change etc).

I don't know about your country, but in Australia where I am from we were required to include all previous names on our police check as well.

If the name you have used before was from a previous marriage, they will see that anyway as you have to provide proof of prior marriages and divorces.

I had a couple of names I was previously known as, and I forgot to enter one of them on my initial forms. When I realised it, I just included it in all the forms from then on, and attached a small letter explaining what had happened. I didn't get any questions over it at all.

In my opinion, it is easier to explain misunderstanding the question or forgetting to enter an answer on one form than get caught out deliberately leaving information off all your forms.

If you have never been married before, and never used any name other than the one you are using now, then of course you would continue to answer 'none', because you would have no other names you've used before.

I hope your journey goes quickly for you, best of luck :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProcedurespHONE BILL RECEIPTS
Not sure if this will help or not... but i was in the same boat as i have a pre-paid phone. My partners phone records however listed both incoming and outgoing texts and calls, so all of my texts and calls to him were on his phone records. I took a copy of his phone records with me to the interview. They didn't even look at my evidence at my interview (Sydney, Australia) but at least we had them. Perhaps you can check your partners phone records to see if theirs list incoming texts and calls?

If the online ones you can print are all you can get, i would think that so long as they showed a date and your partners number it would be ok? I guess it would depend on the country.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNewbie with questions on support, wedding planning and I need Aussie friends!

Everything else has basically been covered, but just wanted to add that you can search for members that are USA / Aussie couples and read through their timelines.  Most of us have some kind of reviews written during the process.  Also check out the Embassy reviews for Sydney and you'll see more members there too with lots of information on the Embassy and the process.  I myself moved to the USA (Texas) two years ago this week from Australia on a K1 visa.  It can be daunting, and stressful, and the waiting can be hard.  Stay positive and take advantage of all the great information on this site, it was a Godsend for me.  We would not have made it through if it weren't for Visa Journey  :)  All the best mate  :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK2 Visa Follow-to-join For My Son

Hi  :)

I am from Australia, so unsure if the process is the same in your country.

But my 15 year old daughter was a follow to join 9 months after I arrived in the USA.  I contacted my consulate and they gave me instructions.

The process was the same for her as it was for myself and my son when we came over beforehand.  The same forms, same other parent (father) permission to leave the country, affidavit of support, medical, interview.  It was the same for her was it was for us.

As she was 15, she signed her own forms, but younger kids can have a parent sign.

The process time was a bit quicker for my daughter than it was for us I think.

Once she arrived in the USA we submitted her AOS paperwork and she received her greencard in the mail.  In our case she was not required to attend an interview for this, but she DID have to have the biometrics done.

Sorry I don't know more about your particular embassy, but I hope it helps in some small way.

I wish you all the best, and a quick and easy process to bring your son to you.
