K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresK-3 Visa or Green card @ Consulate???

Jesus - IMO - 'greencard' = I-130 processing, full tilt, till finished with CR-1 interview in Mexico. It'll take a bit more time.
The K-3 visa has no greencard associated with it - it's a visa stamp in the passport, good for 2 years of border crossings (and that's it - no other rights) - there is assumption that the USC will file an AOS package on behalf of the beneficiary ONCE the foreign spouse has come to USA.

How fast do you want things to go?

Can you give up some speed now, with the benefit of being issued a greencard within 30 days of first POE ?

The K-3 vs CR-1 debate rolls on, but ....

There's a bunch of additional stuff for the USC to do at NVC, if persuing the CR-1/I-130 petition. IMO, it'll add 1 to 3 months of additional processing time.

Interested in pursuing the I-130 ? Have a longish read, a coupla times - map it out on paper -> http://www.visajourn...he_NVC_ShortCut

Good Luck, whatever path you choose.

Thank you so much Darnell for you insights about my case and for the info page you linked! Everything makes much more sense now! We are going to follow the path or Cr-1 which is more convenient and it compensates for the extra possessing time that it might take. Again thank you so much and I'll start by processing the AOS bill which is ready to be paid!
Best regards,

Jesus

Less expensive to go with the I-130 upon entrance to the US GC in mail in about 30 days 70.00 plus the 400 and medicals fees

K-3 you need to adjust status 1010.00

Would you know how long does it take for NVC to send I-130 case to consulate once I send the $70.00 fee for Affidavit Of Support? I am guessing it should not take long, but not sure.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresK-3 Visa or Green card @ Consulate???
I filed a k-3 petition for my wife back in july days after we got married. Everything has gone fast for us, but now I am a bit confused, this is what happened: On September 15 I received a letter in the mail from NVC staying that they had sent a approved I-129F and a case to Ciudad Juarez; but a week later I receive a new letter again from NVC asking me to pay $70.00 for the affidavit of support form. What confuses me is that it has a different case number than the one I previously received. So I called NVC and say that the first case number was sento to Ciudad Juarez and that the second case number was for the I-130 form that I submitted along with the I-129F. So, I started doing some research I found out that I need to ignore future mail from NVC asking for fees. Is that true? Second, I called Ciudad Juarez and was told that my case was open and they would take 6-8 weeks to send package 1, and explained to me that the second case number I received was from the I-130 form and that it was for the process of obtaining the green card. They also explained that processing for K-3 or Green Card there in Ciudad Juarez took the same time to process. So, what do I do?
Do I ignore NVC and not send fee's payment?
Do I ignore Consulate and follow through with NVC?
Which is the safeties route?
BTW which is the cheaper way if any or at least the more reasonable and what would you advise to do and get approved on either one of the two choices that I seem to have since I (the petitioner) am currently unemployed? Hope you guys understand my post and can provide me with help. I am completely new and clueless of what I am doing, I am just following steps found at this forum for k-3 but after that I have no idea of what is happening. Please help!
