ok, so i am back in USA va nho phi rat nhieu (and miss Phi very much) now that the interview part is over and now we are just waiting for her TB test results, and maybe waiting treatment for TB. I was wondering about calling cards. We dont need evidence anymore. my cellphone bill this month was soooooo high. it almost made me sick(400+USD). we talked alot and we sent MANY MANY SMS to eachother.

Anyone know of a good calling card, and maybe a program other than Skype for SMS? I sometimes use yahoo to send her SMS. that is free for me and costs her less. but she needs to be signed on yahoo on her yahoo account for her phone for her to get my SMS.

My Phone contract is up, so I can also look for a new company if it has better SMS rates. I am with Verizon Wireless.

SMS send =$.25 USD
SMS Rcv'd =$.20 USD
International Long Distance - Mobil = $0.56 / min

TXT Messaging-Int'l Sent messages -- 301 301 75.25
TXT Messaging-Int'l Rcv'd messages -- 235 235 47.00

International Long Distance - Mobil 165.76

I use jaxtr when I call her from my cell.... .072 per min using the US # associated with her VN # we also have iphones and can use Fring to call over Wifi connections free.. its a VOIP app. I get beat up on SMS that I send her on my Tmobile plan...

So, here's my situation.
My wife gave them the timeline that i made(thirteen pages very detail) and when they return the paper to my wife, they didn't return the timeline. My wife have 2 copies but im not planning to turn in the same one. I'm going to make a new one and add on to some of the informations that red flags were at. Should I be talking more about before we got married and cut off some of the stuff happened afterward? We went to lots of places and lots of details that I tell them. Let me know what you think.

The items that Hien highlighted are where you need to concentrate. When updating your timeline add to what has already been submitted. You don't want to be changing the story that you have already given to the CO. You swore that was the truth. If you change the story then you are giving them cause to doubt your first version.

Focus on why you were so sure that you wanted to marry someone that you had never met in person.

you people don't know #######, just because i said she cant' see her relatives, you guys went crazy on me. Do you people know the whole story? They're actually her so called relatives, like very very far relatives that she has never met. The reason why i didn't let didn't like them because, when she gets to the US, they kept calling for her. They were rude and disrespectful when anyone else answers the phone besides my fiancee. That's one of the reason why i rather not have her meet them. She's here with many oportunities to a better future. THere's more life for her out there than to these uneducated ,disrespectful so called relatives of her. She has no real relatives over here in the states. Before she comes to the US, she straight out told me she has no relatives over here, all of the sudden they popped out of no where being very disrespectful. Therefore, i was a little worried, but i didn't banned her from anyone. You guys went crazy on me like i banned her from going out of the house. Like i said, you guys don't know the whole #######, so please keep the ####### you said about me to yourself, thanks

Totally agree. You can't just let your fiance or wife go wherever the world she wants. Talk to older Vietnamese people, they'll tell you the exact same thing. There should be no obligation to have to like or meet bad people just because they are relatives. At the same time, I think communication might be lacking, and each person's expectations do not match. Lying about no relatives and running off on a whim would make me think extra hard about the relationship.

It doesn't matter if he still loves her, she doesn't love him. That's why she left. No good wife would just leave so far away without saying anything. And always be wary of the Vietnamese people who always listens to family, even after being engaged or married. So forget about it, if she doesn't leave him now she will leave him later. So try to keep the child instead. Second, this is not such a shocking story. Nail people do this all the time. Leave their spouses and/or kids to just hook up with another nail person. Not sure why nail people tend to do this more, but probably because they can be very mobile, have the financial capacity to move quickly anywhere, and unless they absolutely have to do nails, they tend to love money over health. Nail people are part of their own culture, so be wary of anyone who wants to do nails or does nails. Red flags? Mentioning wanting to do nails over 2 hours away. Nail people work without licenses all the time or can buy licenses. From your side, all that matters to immigration officials is whether you can prove you did not know what was going on, and are not a party to the fraud.

thank you everyone for the inputs, surprisingly she came home today. She went to visit her relatives for a few days, because before i didn't let her go, so she left without my permission, the good thing is shes back, thank god and thank you all, i can take a deep breathe now

My fiancee just came here about 1 month on a K-1 visa. She has to marry me within 90 days, but we haven't yet. Recently her relatives that live about 2 hours away have been contacting her. Everytime i asked her what do they want, she says they just wanted to say hi and see how she is doing. Yesterday i came home from work, came to my surprise, she took off with them and took our baby along with her. I called the cops but they said she has the right to go anywhere, and also can take the baby anywhere she likes since that's her baby. She took her visa, passport and all the baby paperwork with her, the baby is a US citizen. Now i am so depress, and need everyone's help on this. What should i do, the cops cant do anything about this. Does she have the right to take the baby anywhere? what about back to Vietnam? please help me!!

See if you can talk to the Co, but if you are able to see him DO NOT question his decision, simply tell him that you know they say to wait, but you wanted to make sure that if there WAS something you could DO or SAY to help get the visa you were there to do it. If you start to question his reason it could make him mad, but if you are there just checking to see IF you can do ANYTHING that you are more than willing to do it. Also be prepared to answer questions about your wife and her family. It is touchy if you do not know many things about her because they could ask you the same type of questions they asked her. If you answer them incorrectly it could hurt you. But either way even if you do not get to see the Co they know you are concerned about the case, and if you do see him and he might be able to look into your eyes and realize that your love is real and that you are truly worried about a denial. These are just suggestions, you have to make the ultimate choice. I am going to call my senator this week and see if he can find anything out, and I plan on emailing them 1 week after I get a response from the first email, each time just saying different things about our relationship. I want them to keep my case on their mind, and I want them to know that I will complain if I feel I was treated unjustly. One complaint is nothing, but if hundreds complain then maybe the Co's boss will start to see a pattern and review the Co. We might not gain anything from our complaints, but maybe future people will. Jerome

Hi to all,

I want to thank everone that posts on here. I have learned a lot about the process. I am not happy to learn but I am relieved to learn that we are not the only ones waiting.

On the 14th of September Dao and I will have waited on AP for 8 months. I went to the Consulate on my last trip in May. I will go to the Consulate again this trip. Sept 25 to Oct 5 . I have hired Marc Ellis to represent us. I will meet him in person.

I have been looking back in the posts for information about an American guy that decided to go to Siagon and open a coffee shop so he could be with his sweetie. Can anyone can help me find their shop? I would like to show them some support and visit their cafe.

I have had about a 50% sucess rate with sending things(cards and letters) in the regular mail. The cost of sending anything except documents is well over 50usd using courier services. If any of you would like something transported for free to your sweetheart in saigon I have room. It must be legal to transport and I must be able to see what it is. You can send me a phone number on here to make arrangments. I have one 70lb bag of space available. I am hoping I can find others that can do the same for me someday.

One more thing since I have your attention. Ever since my first trip I have taken 3 Wheel Chairs to Vietnam to gift to a person in need. The airline will allow you to take it with no questions as long as you tell them it is yours. I get them free on Craigslist. Make someone cry and take a Wheelchair to Vietnam. You will never regret it.

Thanks,
Fred

Hey fred
How are you doing ?,It saddens me to see the AP list growing and as Received in the the HCMC of vietnam, they have nothing positive or hopeful to post We all need to see a case finish the AP that will give hope to us all
Good luck to you and Bring home good new make some warm ok

QUOTE (JimVaPhuong @ Oct 29 2009, 09:11 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Unfortunately, you didn't discover until it was too late that you really need to be well prepared for this consulate. It's too bad you didn't find this site before you filed your petition. In fact, it would have been even better if you'd found it before you got married. This would have helped you avoid some critical mistakes that, unfortunately, killed your visa.

How long has it been since you got the denial notice? If the Chief Consul hasn't reviewed your case yet then your petition might still be at the consulate. You might still have a chance of saving it if you can keep the petition at the consulate while you appeal. In order to do this, you will need an attorney fast. Try Marc Ellis. He knows the HCM consulate better than anyone, and he lives in HCMC.

Asia: East and PacificBonafide Relationship
QUOTE (VudoMenudo @ Nov 1 2009, 05:54 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello everyone,

Let me introduce myself. My name is Steve and I am engaged to my lovely Thuy. I live in Chicago and she lives in Ho Chi Minh City. We have known each other for 10 months. I came back from my 2nd trip to VN in September, where we had our Dinh Hon. We had the Dinh Hon in VN with her family and we plan to have the wedding in Chicago with my family. I have been roaming around as a guest for the last month or so, but finally decided to become a member because I am about to file the I-129F petition. Anyways, I wanted to include evidence of both of my trips to VN, including our Dinh Hon with the I-129F. Recently, I added Thuy to my life insurance policy as the beneficiary. I also opened up a joint bank account in both our names and I am thinking of adding her name to my apartment for the apartment lease contract. I felt these were good things to do, to begin the transition for her new live in the US after we get married. I will definitely include passport stamps, boarding passes, pictures, emails, receipts, time line, relatives in the US, etc. for evidence, so that part is good. Do you guys think it is a good idea to also add evidence of the insurance policy, the joint bank account and the apartment lease with her name with my I-129F? I don't know for sure. I just wanted to add these to show not only evidence of bonafide relationship but also our future intentions to live together in the US. Would this be ok or should I keep it out? Thanks!

Hello friend
Not yet too early my friend ,not help you anyway

John

John,
Read what he wrote, he did not mention anything about not earning enough. It was about his wife not remembering when they got engaged, no engagement party, and then a small wedding, he said that he had 250 people, just not the photos to prove because the guy taking photos did not get good enough ones of the quests. I did not see that he was mad with Scott or any other person on Visa Journey, just the CO's, and rightfully so. Also how is it going with your wife in the states with you now? Hope all is going well for the both of you.

I would say, address the issues with your wife and prep her if you decide to refile, and get an attorney this time. You can do a rebuttal, and you can also just refile from the start, but an attorney can actually advise you on the best course of action. Good luck in what ever you decide to do, just remember this is only my opnion, do what you feel is the right thing to do.
Jerome
