USCIS Service CentersCheck your status at NBC

Moved from IR-1/CR-1 Progress Reports to USCIS Service Centers forum; OP is asking about USCIS operations, not providing a case status update.

The OP is not asking about the NVC, the information you are providing, while correct, is not relevant to the OP's question. What the OP is asking about is how long do they have to wait before they are able to check the status of their file on a USCIS website.

 Thank you, Ryan. Also, I have one of those infamous receipt numbers that begin with MSC and it seems there are a few people saying that those numbers can not be checked. I read in a few posts that this was an error on their part that they are trying to clear up and then I realized that those posts were from 2006! I can't imagine the government is that slow to fix a problem... well, ya, I guess I can.

so..... how long should someone expect to wait after receiving their N.O.A.1 before you could expect to see it on NBC's "check your status" button ?

USCIS Service CentersHow do i know which service center is processing my for I130

NBC is Missouri, which means your file was sent there. However NBC processing timeline is 5 months.look under the various service centers you will see Missouri, click on it to track Missouri timeline.

Goodluck

unfortunately I don't see anything on the Missouri timelines about I-130 applications.

They may send it to your local office for approval but they may never tell you. Ours went to NBC and was approved in 140 days. I don't know if ours was ever sent to my local office or not.

Hi, I am traveling to Veracruz city and Poza Rica after Christmas to meet my wife's father (who was not healthy enough to fly to the U.S. for our wedding) and some other family members. I have some questions about the area and would appreciate a locals point of view. Please message me. Thank you,

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaLong form birth certificate

Whenever I had to get an apostille, I just called the State Secretary's office to make an appointment and went in person. I was always in and out within ten minutes of arriving, apostille in hand. I had to drive the hour to get to Harrisburg, but it was much easier and quicker! Maybe you can do something similar?

My problem being I haven't lived in Washington State for 12 years and I'm 1,400 miles away from that office. Hmmm... could one of my parents go to that office with my birth cert. and get the apostille done? They will be visiting me in a few weeks and could bring it too me.

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaLong form birth certificate

The truth is i won't know until the interview next month. However, from what I've read on the forum here, I've seen enough folks say it was required that I ordered one myself.

When I received it, i realized it was simply a photocopy of the original one on their paper. Since I'm in possession of my original birth certificate, I even asked the state if the original was acceptable instead of paying the $50 for the "long" form, and she said no.

My interview was six weeks out when i was first notified of the date. Hopefully that will give you enough time to get it. I got mine because i want to do everything possible to avoid admin processing - assuming one can actually do that . . .

Ya, they are not going to let us get by without paying another fee, are they? I'm crossing my fingers that there will be enough time. I will be interested to hear what you have to say about the interview afterwards (my wife even more). Wish you the best on the interview.

So, apparently this is what Washington State does as well as some other states listed. I hope I can make it happen in 6 weeks. Ha! http://www.sos.wa.go...rps/apostilles/

What did you mail in the IV package? You needed the beneficiary's original birth certificate for that, so unless you asked for permission to present it at the interview instead, you're going to be looking at a checklist (RFE). I'd ask in the regional subforum so other Mexico filers can give you more specific advice as to how to go about this. Posted Image Lots of luck!

Sorry, didn't understand your reference to beneficiaries birth certificate. Hers was never a problem. But, here is what I found out today. I need to take the computer generated one I have, fill out a form and include a cover letter. Send it back to my home state (with another fee of course) to have an "Apostille" attached to it. ...going to their web site now to see what it's about.

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaLong form birth certificate
So. I have been on the phone with people in my home state trying to see if I can obtain a certified copy of my long form birth certificate. The one I ordered a few months ago is a simple computer generated document with minimal information. According to the records people there is no long form birth certificate available. One guy told me it might be possible to have someone find the original in their records and make a certified copy but when I sent them the request form, they said they never received it and I have heard nothing back after calling again and being told they would check on the situation. My wife is worried that if she doesn't have the long form of my birth certificate at her interview in Mexico it might cause a denial. Anybody else had trouble obtaining a long form birth certificate? Thanks.

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaBest way to get from El Paso airport to hotel near consulate in Juarez

Hello everyone

My wife's interview has been scheduled at the Juarez consulate in Mexico for June 13th.  For me to buy a plane ticket to fly to Juarez to join her (I know I can not attend the interview) is very expensive.  Much cheaper to fly to El Paso TX. My question is what is the best (safest) way for me to get from the El Paso airport to our hotel near the consulate? Thank you, Aluk

Hi there Kay,

Thanks for the information.

I did not intend to mislead you but we posted around the same time, as my question was directed at Aluk since she  was the only one who had replied to my post.

My fiancee will ask at the CDJ clinic whether they could administer her the vaccines.

Thanks for the help.

If there is money to be made and the government can charge you for something. they will.

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaCDJ K1 Medical Exam

Good evening all,

My fiancé will be CDJ next week in order to attend to get interview.
I have a question, as far as her vaccines, she has had them all but she can't find her vaccinations' record.
Can she have the vaccines done in CDJ or before we AOS?
She is in her late 20s and I wonder how many shots she will need not counting the flu shot (since her AOS will be during the flu season)

Thanks all

Chances are they(CDJ) would not have honored those records even if she had them, You can get the shots there during the medical.

I believe, and someone please correct me if I am wrong, that you can get a copy of your letter at the information window at the consulate prior to your interview.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsUnable to check MSC status online

I'm starting to get the feeling that we are a lot!

I expected to be able to check my status online after a couple of weeks but it's almost a month now and I'm getting worried.

Has anybody here tried calling USCIS?
Did you learn anything more than what you already knew (I130 received, NOA1 sent, now wait)?

Thank you!

I called USCIS about not being able to check my status online after five weeks and they gave me an e-mail address to direct my inquiry to. NCSC-costomerconnect@uscis.dhs.gov Include petitioner, applicant, receipt number and nature of inquiry. I sent mine a week ago and no response yet. Hope this helps.

Anyone i have a question... so does this actually mean that an average of 6 0 days after your priority date we are supposed to get our NOA2???

Ummm...I would not go as far to say that. It does seem to be happening for some. A "maybe" or a "hopefully" might apply. I am hoping for 60 - 70 days as well and keeping my fingers crossed for a speedy return for you as well but, this is the U.S. government we are talking about. Logic and reason are thrown out the window.

Just read in another forum where they had called NBC and were told that it can take up to 45 days for our status to show up on check status button.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - March 2013

I just called to see if I had a case number yet although I know it is early and was informed by the operator my case was received which I was aware of and that it takes 10-20 business days for a case number. I asked if he could tell me the exact date so I could know 10-20 business days and he said the case was received March 4th. This is funny because it took until March 8th for them to tell me my case was received when I called every day. There is a lag between when the case was received and when it is showing in the system.

The same exact thing with the same exact dates happened to me!

Sorry, didn't mean to rain on your parade but, a positive attitude and constantly hoping for the best goes a long way in mentally dealing with this process. I hope we all get our numbers in two weeks. My best to you.

So you mean, our lawyer will be the one who will receive instructions from NVC and then possibly forward it to me? and will pay the bill? but of course we have to pay her...

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - March 2013

You would have to be EXTREMELY lucky to get a case number within 2 weeks from now.

And if you have a lawyer, they're automatically designated as agent, so no, one doesn't send a DS-3032 if there's a lawyer/attorney on their case.

It took NVC 10 days just to receive our approval after it happened. They told me not to expect a number until at least March 18th. But I will start calling them again everyday next week! :clock:
