K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPHOTOS, EMAILS, BANK ACCOUNT

Your first step is simply to prove you have met within the past two years. This should be with passport stamps, boarding passes, etc. Pictures can help. Depending on your consulate you may want to front load your petition with pictures. Don't overwhelm them with all the print outs, pick a selection over the years to show your communication. Assuming that you do not have any dependents then $30000 should be more then sufficient for the affidavit, but you don't need to worry about that at the moment.

THANK YOU! No I don't have any dependents. Your response was very helpful. I really appreciate it.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPHOTOS, EMAILS, BANK ACCOUNT

I sent passport stamps, boarding passes, a few emails, skyp and ym chats. I sent around 5 pictures and I put at the back who was in the pictures (me, my then fiancee and her parents, grandparents and siblings). Each picture was a different setting with different clothing.

THANK YOU so much for your advice. I am just starting to file and get everything ready for the petition for next month so I want to make sure I do this without getting the RFE. :)

Hi welcome to the journey. 35 is a bit too much and they might be overloaded with the pictures. For now keep it to 10-15 pics and the skype and text should be fine for even a year is good. Keep all these things when your fiance goes for his interview. Then all this is good evidence. As per the money, 30K should be enough for just your fiance, depending on any kids you might have, that goes up. From the looks of it, you should be in good shape. Good Luck and please do your timeline and use the guides to help you. That's what we did.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPHOTOS, EMAILS, BANK ACCOUNT
Hi I am going to file for my fiance's visa next month. I have just a few questions if you anyone can help me out. My fiance & I have known each other for 2 years and over the course of relationship we talk on skype & text each other day & night.I have visited him twice so we have like about 200+ photos together.

Anyways if I send in about 35 photos for evidence that we met in person is that enough? How many photos do you actually need to send? Second question is I am providing 2 years worth of skype conversations, text messages & phone bills until now. Would that be enough to show our ongoing relationship? Third question is I have been working full time for about a while now and make about $30000 a year. I do not have too much savings in my bank account as I am paying off student loans. I have about $800 something in savings in my bank account. Do you think I would have a problem with affidavit of support? I can prove that I have a full time job.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

One for each person, but you'll need some more of the beneficiary later, so best to hold on to them.

Ok thank you, so I would only need to send in one when I send in the I-129F and the other for when he goes to the interview?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresthinking ahead

I recently filed my ki visa application in february. I have not seen my fiance since june 2012. I usualy seen him every year in june, but this year we were thinking of holding off on out yearly trip because we anticipate him being here in sept or october.
Also we wanted to set aside the money we would use to go toward the funds needed for his future AOS.
Will the USCIS look down upon our case if we dont see each other in more than a year?

I am in the same situation as you as I just recently filed for the petition and have not seen my fiance since September 2012. I was planning on visiting him this year again but decided not to just like you hoping that he will be here by the end of the year. Good luck to us :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTRANSLATION

From what I can tell, they don't care what you talked about... they care that you talk. I use Mongolian to communicate with my fiancee, and she doesn't even have the internet, so all I have are phone records. If I send a letter, it's likely to be hand-written and in Mongolian. I might translate these things for the interview if it shows something important, but the idea is that you can and do communicate, not necessarily the contents of your conversations.
I think, actually, for the I-129F, it's not even necessary to enclose proof of communication. Much more important than that is proof of having met in person within the last two years. Worst case scenario, you get an RFE, which is a positive, as it's a chance to include any new evidence you may have forgotten before to make a stronger case.

Thank you. I usually write all my letters or talk to him in English since I am not that good at writing in Filipino.I just wanted to know since it said that all supporting documents had to be translated in English.
JAYANN & JAYFemalePhilippines2013-03-05 21:13:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTRANSLATION
Will I get an RFE if most of my supporting documents are not translated in English? I have a few cards that are in English but most of them are written in Filipino & most of our conversations are also in Filipino...well I usually write in English though when I talk to my fiance but he would answer me in Filipino. Do you think I would have a problem and they would send it back and ask me to translate everything like any screenshots we have of our conversations?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDo you really have to show what you have in savings?

Im still waiting for my RFE reply which is so stressful. Anyway im hoping and praying everything will be ok. I have a quesition for hopefully the next step. Do i need to print out how much money I have in savings and or checking? I make over 50k a year but honestly I dont have that much saved up. IM kind of worried about that and hope i dont have tot print out what I have in savings.

hello. thank you so much for posting this question. like you i am also worried about showing how much savings i have in the bank since i don't have much saving either but my salary is 40k a year and i have been working for about 3years already and hoping that when its to time to send my affidavit of support to my fiance my tax transcripts for the last 3 years, recent pay-stubs, w-2 form and letter of employment will suffice to prove that my fiance will not be a burden to the economy.

Don't need bank statement unless you want to use it to prove your assets instead of your current income. You'll need last 3 yrs of tax transcripts, Letter of Employment, 1040s or W-2s, last 6 mons paystubs to back up your I-134

Last question for you. I already 3 years of tax return (2009-current) but where do I get the 1040 or W-2s?

THANK YOU! I know that for the affidavit of support my income has to be above the poverty line of 18k or more with a household of 2 people. I make about 38k year. I dont really have to much on my savings account in the bank. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWedding in the Philippines!

Quick question... We just recently filed our K-1 / I-129F and have been talking about wedding plans. I know that getting married here in the USA is okay for my fiance but I can tell that she really wants a wedding in the Philippines. I will be going back to visit her in September. Can we have a civil wedding in the Philippines that will not affect the visa process that we've already started? Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated...smile.png

Wait until your fiancee gets here and then get married. Do the civil ceremony here in the US and then once she has her green card you guys can do a church wedding in the Philippines. Besides it will give you sometime to save money to have a beautiful wedding in the Philippines :) Good luck :)

Let's not be so harsh! 1 She's in review for her Nursing License exams. She is taking those on June 2 and 3. Her dream is to pass her exams and passing them also makes her eligible for those states that require the license. Colorado doesn't require them but I'm an airline employee and we will certainly move in the future. So, her passing is priority, period. If we take longer then those who want to be a "laser beam", then so be it. 2 I know the time lines, I know just about everything I need to know. 3 If you had no intention of answering the question, then why did you reply? Read the question. Did I ask for any of the information you wrote?

They will not reproduce the NOA2 from my knowledge. So, if it's lost, certainly all that I would have is the email notification! Right?

Good luck to your fiancee on her Nursing exam. My fiance is also taking his Nursing License exam on June 2 and 3. I hope that your fiancee my fiance both pass their exams :) Congrats also if you guys got your approval :)

You don't have to get US police clearance. They do their own checks for US.

You'll need certs for any other countries he's lived in for a year or more.

So if you lived in the same country and never left you dont't need to get police clearance? My fiance already has the NBI clearance and has never been out of the country.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1 GOLDEN TIPS - PART2

You impress me! haha  i found you in every topic and online almost all the time (like me haha)
I have seen your interview packet and it's amazing. I will send that link to my fiance for him to check.
I have a questions ... saying that showing more than 1000 pages of chat logs is weird, do you think is true? i have a year and a half chat logs of whatsapp  (talking almost 17 hours per day) so we have a LOT of pages. Should i just don't print them all? i'm confused.
We have a lot more evidence and i don't know if they will fit on a binder. What will you recomend?
Thank you Leon!!!

In my initial i-129f that i sent to uscis back in march i overloaded them with evidence. i had 2 years worth of letters from my fiance and i had sent 2 years worth of screenshot of skype logs and also bbm messages, facebook messages and etc. i had made 2 copies of the screenshot of our skype, bbm messages, facebook and he will be bringing the 2 and half years worth of letter i sent. i put them all in a binder as well to make it easier for the CO in the embassy.

Hi. I sort of front loaded when I sent my I-129F to USCIS. Here are the stuff I had included:

All boarding passes, tickets, receipts, bus tickets, hotel confirmation, passport stamps, facebook check-ins and about 25 photos for evidence of meeting in person. I sent 2 years worth of letter I received from my fiance, 2 years worth of skype logs, facebook messages, text messages, phone cards & about 6 phone bills for on-going relationship. I received no RFE and got approval exactly 4 months. I will be sending my fiance everything when he goes for his interview.

When the USEM receives your packet from the NVC, they will send you a letter.  However, you may or may not receive it in the mail.  But that's not the letter you will need.

Pay for the Interview and then schedule it.  After you schedule it, print the page with the bar code.  This is what you'll need for BOTH the medical exam at SLEC and the actual interview at the USEM.

THANKS!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion about I 134

My fiance and I have recently been approved for our K1 peition. I am the beneficiary. We recently filled out the I 134 form and we got copies of his last 2 years income tax records and about4 of his most recent paystubs. He makes about 30000.00 a year, which is quite a ways above the poverty limit for 2 people. I am wondering if that is enough. I have read that others have gotten copies of bank statements and letters from their employers. Is that required?

I am in the same situation as you. I make about 36k a year and have copies of my tax return (2009-present), paystubs (May 2013-present), W-2 forms (2011-present) + employment letter and a form I receive from my job every year stating that i make 36k a year. I don't wont to send in my bank statement if it is not necessary since I barely have any savings which kind of worries me that they might want my bank statement but even if I don't have enough in my bank account I plan on sending it and if the person at the embassy asks for it then my fiance will give it but if not then I guess I am good. I have no dependents as well so it is just me & my fiance which will fall under household of 2.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedureswedding pictures in submitting I-I30

I would like to ask how did you organize your wedding pics upon submitting the I-I30 packet? Have you glued the pics in the bond paper or put the pics in the zip lock?

Thanks to all of you.

I put together a bunch of photos--three each of wedding, post-wedding, honeymoon, trips done and pictures with friends--and clipped them topic-wise, wrote the occasion/people's names/place and date on the back of the photographs, put them all in an envelope labeled 'Photos to provide bonafide marriage', then stapled the envelope onto a separate sheet of paper and included that with the regular paperwork. It did not occur to me that I could have printed them out on paper, but I liked doing what I did.

Thanks a lot Rina...

I have some more questions:-
- would I be able to change my name later on in life??
- If so, would I need a change of name on my marriage certificate too bacause that's in my maiden name??

Please help...

Thanks

I did not change my surname after marriage either and all my US immigration paperwork is still in my maiden name. My marriage certificate from India is in my maiden name. You do not need to change to your married name just for the visa. Your maiden name is just fine. And yes, you can change to your married name later on, either through a court order (not very sure about this) or for sure when you apply for your citizenship. Again, a name change is optional at any stage and you do not have to change unless you want to.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCR1/IR1 to bring her from India

you will not believe the run around we are getting trying to find out about civil marriage. the marriage registrar himself says that we must have a religious ceremony and then bring proof of that and then only will he register the marriage.

can you please tell me a little bit more about your civil marriage process.

OP, I do not know which part of India you are from, but I guess this works the same in most places. I am from Chennai and I have friends who did it, so here is how it could possibly be done if your Registrar office insists on a religious ceremony. Get married at a local Indian temple with the temple priest officiating, take a few pictures with guests during the marriage ceremony, speak to the temple authorities and ask if they will sign a letter saying you got married at the temple. Most temple authorities will oblige, if you agree to make a donation to the temple. This certificate is considered valid enough at most Registrar offices, you can say you did not have a formal wedding card printed and get affidavits from your parents etc. if needed. Once you get this stuff into the Registrar office, it takes about a week to get the marriage certificate and then you are good to go. You really do not need to wait till end of year to get married.

I also know of cases where people have completely skipped the religious ceremony part (what if you happen to be an atheist etc.?) and done only the civil marriage at the Registrar office itself.

If you need more info, message me and we can talk. Do not worry, all will be well.
