Almi,

No IMBRA problem, as fwaguy and YuAndDan have written.

But you provide no information about the prior I-129f petition for this woman other than that one was submitted and "aborted". When was that petitition submitted, what does "aborted" mean, at what stage was the 'abortion' performed, how, and why?

Lot's of unknowns here, one or more of them could potentially be significant.

Yodrak

Hello Yodrak,

That problem was raised by the poster from other site. Her fiance filed I-129F in 2005. Then along the course of the journey, he dropped the petition. The woman was not even schedule for medical nor interview.

Now she is asking if there will be a problem in the immigration if ever she will be petitioned by another person.

Thanks.

IMBRA Special TopicsMultiple K1 visa

IMBRA affects only the petitioner, not the beneficiary, if they had a petition aborted then someone else petitions for them it should have no bearing on the new case.

Thanks for the information. God bless.....

Supposing the beneficiary had an aborted K 1visa petition. Now, here comes another guy who wants to petition her for a K1 visa. Is there any complication in the immigration? Thanks so much .....

Note: this is not my case .... This is a problem raised by a poster from other forum who sought for an advise

Philippinesmy fiance(USC petitioner) moves to a new address

hi fellow vj'ers, currently my fiance (USC petitioner) is renting an apartment and will now move to the house we bought this month..my question is at this stage of our visa journey where he already got the hardcopy of the NOA2 and NVC notice and i am basically waiting for the medical and interview appointment, which office should we inform of this change in address? USCIS?NVC?USE in Manila? would appreciate your replie :help:

thanks everyone!

Please inform your fiance to send you a revised I-134, showing his new address.

In addition, ask him to give you a change of address statement, as an amendment to his original petition, showing both old and new address, signed and dated by him. Use his current address on the DS-forms Ifyour schedule is not too close, ask him to send you a postal mail using his new address.

PhilippinesRecommendations For Manila Hotels For Medical & Interview

We stayed at Best Western La Corona a few times. Couple blocks from the embassy and couple blocks from St. Lukes. It's clean, quiet and not to expensive. It's running $49 a night right now. You can go cheaper but we chose not to for many reasons. Booked through this site. http://www.asiarooms.com/ I shopped and shopped and found it was the cheapest at the time. Many sites advertised rates do not include taxes and fees upfront. This one does.

We also stayed at Best Western Hotel La Corona for two times.

The good points:
1. It is quiet and less expensive.
2. Breakfast is nutritionally well-balanced.
3. Provided a complete set of toiletress.
4. Accommodating staff.
5. Some rooms are clean, smell good and well-ventilated.

Bad points:
1. The hotel is quite old and elevator is quite scary.
2. The room is smelly. Aircon is not functioning well or was not strategically placed where it can cool the entire room. ( second visit experience)
3. One of their drivers ( the one who drives the van) was discourteous and was driving under the influence of liquor.

PhilippinesRecommendations For Manila Hotels For Medical & Interview

Vj's

Just wondering if I can get some recommendations on hotels near St Lukes and US Embassy that you liked. Also how you booked them.

Thankyou
Carl

Hello Carl,

I recommend City State Tower Hotel located at 1315 A. Mabini Street, Ermita, Manila, Telephone numbers (632)-4007351 to 61.

To book for a room just simply visit their website at www.citystatetowerhotel.com.ph and make reservation.

This hotel is one block away from St. Lukes medical Clinic and several blocks from the US embassy.

The hotel rate is affordable. It ranges from P 1 515.00 to 5 610.00. Breakfast is included. However, it is not so impressive. It is not nutritionally balanced.

Cherry Blossom Hotel is also near St. Lukes Medical Clinic.

Hope this will help you..

Congratulations! And thanks for sharing your experience :) I've been a nervous wreck since I got packet 4, didn't know what to expect. But I am lightening up a bit, just have to take a day at a time, I know everything will end up well.

Hello rich_kathy,

Just prepare all the documents needed. Review your I-129F, read the emails, cards you sent to the USCIS. Organize the documents needed during the interview. Gather sample questions and rehearse it.

Get enough sleep and have breakfast before going to the embassy. Do not worry.. Everything will be ok. Goodluck!!!

PhilippinesMy Visa Interview Experience
I was scheduled for my visa interview yesterday, June 19, 2007. I woke up at 4AM. Randy sent me a sweet SMS message and a wake up call. I took a shower. I applied what I have learned from my satorial savvy class and that is how to look smart and pleasantly pleasing to others. I went to the USE at 5AM though my scheduled appointment was for 7AM.

Upon my arrival at the waiting area, I was ushered by the vendor. He asked if I would like to rent a chair while waiting. I rented a monoblock chair for 30 pesos while waiting for our turn to be called. The vendors were giving instructions to the applicants like do not bring your cell phone and other electronic gadgets, If you do not have your ID picture, do not worry. They will take picture. But of course, the price is higher.

I was conversing with other K-1 applicants (Eden from Cebu, Lani of Laguna, Maggie of Bago City, ladies from Surigao and General Santos). I checked and helped Eden with her DS forms.

At 6:30 AM, the 7 AM K-1 applicants were ushered by the security guard to the next gate and inside the embassy premises. Please be ready with your appointment letter and ID and present that to the guard upon entry.

There were two lines, one for the immigrants and the other one for the non-immigrants. For the immigrant visa, we were directed by the guard to the right side of the embassy. Upon entry, your things will be scanned. So if you a have cell phone, digital cam or scissors, please leave them behind.

We were directed by the guard to the immigrant visa section and asked to be seated while the receiving booth was accepting the application of the 6:00 AM K-1 Applicants.

So while waiting, I read the instructions flashed on the TV monitor and at the same time conversed with my fellow k-1 applicants.

After 30 minutes of waiting, the 7:00AM batch was called up by the guard. I went to the receiving booth. I took out my appointment letter, 2 copies of DS-156 & 157 and one copy of DS 156K. The embassy personnel gave me a number. Mine was 7002. Then I went back to where I was seated.

Then I was waiting for the fingerprint scanning/biometric schedule. After waiting for 30 minutes, my name was called out. When it was my turn for the fingerprint scanning, the lady in-charge was RUDE. Maybe she woke up on the wrong side of the bed. I saw that she took out a different folder/file (7022) and the picture appearing on the screen was not mine. I called out her attention. Instead of listening, she chided me and the guy assisting her. I went back to where I was seated. However, my gut feeling was telling me to approach the guy and inform him that my file was screwed up. I approached the guy and informed him of the incident. I told him that my number is 7002 and not 7022. He, too, was insisting that the lady in-charge was correct. But at the back of mind, I knew that they had messed up my file.

After waiting for an hour, my number was flashed on the queuing board indicating where to go. I went to see the Filipina Pre-screener at Window 26. She asked me to submit my NBI and Birth certificate. I then asked her if she needed my CENOMAR, which she accepted, then the Affidavit of Support ( I gave her the notarized I-134 Affidavit of Support, Employment Letters, 3 years F-1040 & W-2, bank statements, pay stubs), and the pictures of Randy’s visit in the Philippines.

She then asked me the following questions:

1. Who is your petitioner?
2. When, where and how did you meet?
3. When did you meet personally? How long?

The Filipina pre-screener raised her eyebrows when I informed her that we met for 4 days only. I was alarmed when I saw her reaction and she noted my answer on the paper she was holding.

While waiting for the final interview with the consul, my name was called up for a second fingerprint scanning. So my hindsight was correct. The lady in-charge made a mistake because she subjected me to another fingerprint scanning. This time the lady in-charge was kind and courteous.

While waiting for the final interview, I was scared due to the reaction of the pre-screener. But I told myself that I have to prove to the consul that our relationship is genuine.

The final call came. I was ushered to cubicle #29. I waited outside since the consul was still interviewing an applicant. The applicant was denied outright by the consul. The applicant had been petitioned by his parents. However, he was past the age limit of 21. The guy was insisting. I know that the consul was pissed off. I was scared then that the consul might not be in a good mood when it was my turn.

I went inside and greeted the consul with a smile. He greeted me "HELLO". That eased my tension. He asked my name and I stood up to take the Oath.

I had an engaging interview with the consul. He was very kind and very accommodating. He was not intimidating. Here are the questions he raised:

1. Who is your petitioner? How do you pronounce his name? (I pronounced it and informed him that the stress is on the first syllable. He then asked me if he is a Slovak or....... I graciously told him that he is a .......)

2. “Have you been petitioned before?” NO sir, this is the very first petition. The consul made comment that based on the data uploaded from the computer, I had also petitioned previously. He asked me for my birth date.

While he was encoding and checking the file, I told him about the fingerprint scanning incident. He informed me that there was a mix up on my file. Somebody's file was encoded on my file. But he assured me not to worry. So he continued interviewing me.
3. “Were you married before?” No I never have been...

4. “Do you have children?” NO biological children but I have 1017 children under my tutelage. He made a follow up question? “Have you adopted them?” NO sir. I am ……. and I have 1017 children under my guidance and supervision.

5. “Was he married before? With whom?”

6. “What is his work? How much does he earn? Is he living alone? Is he supporting his parents?” NO. “So you will be the only one he will be supporting?” Exactly, Sir.

8. “Do your parents approve of your relationship with him?”

9. “Did he visit you? When? How long?” Yes. For four days. “Why?” His company granted him a 7-day vacation leave.

At this point, I showed him our folder on the Evidence of Genuine Relationship. The consul readily accepted the folder and commented that it was well-organized and neatly arranged. I just smiled .His comment boosted my confidence.

He took a look at the emails (I printed out my email address inbox showing our daily emails from the beginning of our relationship till June 7, 2007). He read our emails. He made comments.. “ah you have subjected yourself to compatibility test and handwriting analysis...you have postal mail from his family, shipping invoices and several money transfers. Now I am convinced that you have a genuine relationship and I know you will not be a public charge in the US. You can easily work in there with your educational attainment and profession.”

At this time, I politely and graciously asked the consul if I am approved and if there is anything wrong with my papers. He enthusiastically said… “YOU are APPROVED! Everything looks fine. Your file will be corrected later. You can now book your ticket! Congratulations!”

With a beaming smile I said... “THANK YOU SO MUCH SIR and GOD BLESS!”

I was smiling when I went out from the cubicle. I could not contain my happiness.

I was asked to return at 1pm for the release of the pink slip since they had not yet finished correcting the entry on the computer. I waited till 1:45 P.M. After long and agonizing hours of waiting, I received the most elusive PINK SLIP at Window #38. I paid DELBROS P 665.00.

I am so thankful that I was able to survive the punches and emerged victorious!

To All VJers waiting to be interviewed.

Be confident because your relationship is genuine not fraud.

Volunteer the documents which you think can support and establish your claim.

Smile and overcome your tension.

Be polite and gracious at all times. Greet them and do not expect to be greeted back.

Know your weakest link and prepare yourself on how to tackle it.

If you think the embassy employee made a mistake, graciously call her/his attention.

Most importantly, Ask God’s blessing and guidance.

Congratulations Mae!! There was never any doubt.

My Mae finished her medical yesterday. (I think she might have crossed paths with some here?) She said she didn't have any problems and everyone was very nice to her and made some friends. She was there 7:30-3:30 the first day and didn't finish until 3pm the second. I wish I had more useful information, but my impression with the medical there isn't too much to be concerned about, but then she doesn't have any nagging medical problems.

On to the interview!! Ughhh, more angst.

Hello JeffK,

If your fiancee was not subjected to re x-ray or any additional laboratories, you have nothing to worry. Maybe there were so many clients that's why she finished her medical till 3pm.

PhilippinesManila Embassy Interview/Visa Status

(My apologies to our english-speaking members, it's hard to find the equivalent in funny English)

First of all, maraming, maraming salamat po sa pagbati ninyong lahat! Feeling ko para akong si Manny Pacquiao sa pagbubunyi ng sambayanang Pilipino hehe. Pero, I am humbled talaga. To each and everyone of you, thank you all so much from the bottom of my heart. I am so touched, nakakaiyak na po talaga.

Binabati ko rin ang aking Filipino pre-screener and American consul sakaling nagbabasa sila ng VJ. Salamat po sa visa ko kahit hindi pa dumarating (hwag po sanang ma-AR sa huling sandali).

Updating to congratulate those who got approved and received their visas. Yehey, happy days are here again!!! Welcome to the waiting list dcorrz! Good luck to Kayz on Monday!!! Gobdogman and 49Bstreet, can we have the exact date of delivery of passport and place delivered please?

Okay, I need to go out to do some grocery shopping otherwise my son won't be able to eat. More later.... ^_^

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresOnly 4 days of meeting physically!

Dont know how much you've already done, but send love letters and e-mails. Make sure to keep the envelope to prove the date it was sent. You can cross out the naughty bits :) Phone records show contact, these show the feelings involved. If nothing else, you'll have an excellent collection to look back at in 10 years and get warm fuzzies hehe!

Hello, we are on the same boat. My fiance stayed here for only four days. Right after his visit, he filed the I-129F. Now, we are waiting for our NOA2.

What is important , your fiancee can prove that your relationship is real and auithentic . That both of you are in love and will do everything to make your relationship work.

Evidences of genuine relationship such as daily emails and chatting, postal mails (both from you and yoru family), photographs, phone bills or cards, shipping invoices and many others will greatly help your fiancee during the interview.

So do not worry.....Goodspeed.....Goodluck ....

Congrats! We are on the same phase now. As for the next stage, see the VJ guides. There is a checklist on what to gather. You may start gathering the documents needed during the interview.

Be patient.. We need to wait for 2-4 months for our schedule. October filers got their schedule now. Hopefully we can have ours in June .

Just hang on .. relax and enjoy your stay in the Philippines.....For soon you will be away from your family, friends and colleagues.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNeed HELP with your opinions!!!!!!
Age doesn't matter when it comes to love. One should not be ashamed if she/ he has fallen in love to a younger one.

With regards to the problem that you're facing, I guess you are the only person who can solve it. With your wisdom and experience , you will be able to come up with a sound decision . If you think YOUR WOMAN LOVES YOU. Then go for it. It's your life. If you realized you made a mistake at the end, then nurse your broken heart and soul silently.

You were asking if it is ok to take back the money you gave her. My question is what was the purpose of giving her the money. Was it for payment for sex? a gift? a bribe? If it is a gift, then it should not be taken back unless the woman return it. If it is payment for sex, then it should be taken back , coz there was no sex happen.

If the woman was angry because you have not bought the dress for her, I guess she is a very shallow person. She must understand that money is hard to find and it is impratical to buy such an expensive dress. Unless it is her wedding gown.

Good luck and may the good Lord enlighten your mind and protect you from all evils.
