Read through the guide in the link provided above by Darnell. You do not need to wait for NVC to mail anything. All of the required forms can be downloaded, filled in and submitted long before you would receive anything from NVC.

CR1 - likehood of getting denied entry on B1

One of my VJ friends is going to visit her husband this month and she's in the process with the I-130 visa. I don't think there should be any problems, but then again someone might have a different information to give you.

i'd say yes. i think this is after you get your visa and you're in the us and they're ready to send the gc n ss# to you. someone correct me if im wrong

she also filed for taxes. she got a IRS number in 2004 and have been filing ever since then. i believe this year she filed with her husband

Okay, now this is making sense. If I were you I'd go over to Immigrate2US. They specialize in this area.

no she's not canadian. she flew to canada from poland and crossed the border without inspection. her husband is a USC.
so even if she gets a visa from the us embassy in warsaw she can still get denied at the POE right?

i'm not sure where she crossed it, but it was the canada-USA border. she was 10 and it happened in 2003.
she never left u.s and is planning on leaving now before she turns 18 in a month. and they aready applied for the i-130.

their lawyer said she has to go back and get a visa with the i-130 since she didnt get inspected at the POE and never had an actual visa to the US.

yes magical, she entered illegally with her parents

one of my friend's sister immigrated to the US through canada and they never got checked at the POE. she got married to her fiancee and is filing her i-130 sometime this month. she is turning 18 either next month or in july. they contacted a lawyer and he told them it's best if she leaves before her 18th birthday so she doesnt get the 3 or 10 year bar on re entry. the problem is shes scared they will be asking about her parents (which are still in the us) and will have problems at the interview and POE if she passes the interview.

so this question was basically for my friend's sister. Any advice i can give her? What do you think about this situation she's in?

My wife forwarded me an email that was sent to her stating change of agent was approved for ds3032

oops no I called NVC and they had case # Call autmated line and type in USCIS number, then it will tell your status.

we called today and she said to wait until next week. so we're going to start callling next week. After i receive my NVC#, i send them the choice of agent email, am i right?
and if thats approved then do i call again for the Invoice number?
I read the guides through NVC, but some parts confused me :blush:

I just received a text from my husband that his mother opened up a letter from USCIS but she wasn't sure what it was because she doesn't really know English that well. I decided to call her and told her to go on skype to show me the notice letter.
Yep! It was an approval notice!

I'm so excited and happy! Thank you GOD!

Did you read their timeline?

December 21, 2010 - Married the love of my life
January 16, 2011 - sent I-130 to Chicago Lockbox
January 20, 2011 - I-130 Received by California Service Center
January 21, 2011 - NOA1 Received
March 1, 2011 - Touched
May 20, 2011 - I-130 Approved (Exactly 4 months!)
May 25,2011 - NOA2 received in mail

They applied January 16th 2011 and were approved May 20th.

haha i wish i was accepted that fast.

Forget USCIS--it should be a distant memory for you now--NVC is your new friend going forward. It took exactly 9 calendar days for our NVC case number to show up on the automated system from the time of the NOA2, and then I called the operator and she gave me our IIN number so I could start paying the bills, although it was another day before the first bill was posted to the payment site so I could pay it. So far everthing with NVC has been flawless and quick.

We are filing the AOS and IV papers next week when back form vacation, and we'll see if the faster than a speeding bullet timeline is still working.

I find it odd that within five days of acceptance you were approved even with expedition that seems blazingly fast. Are you sure it wasn't your NOA1 that you received?

, it clearly said that the i-130 has been accepted and that they forwarded my case to the NVC.

Mine took 10 days.. Just call everyday and type in USCIS number.. Also try calling at 6pm pst... They can tell you if paperwork has arrived.. you may have no number yet but documents may be there

10 days from your NOA2 in mail?
Like i said above i think they received it already but didnt process it, cuz they told my husband to call within 2 weeks to receive the #

my husband calls everyday about the i-130 and speaks with the operator not the automated machine, today they told him to wait untill next week so they can process the numer and the case
my attorney made a mistake and told us info about the k3 visa which we never filed for just the i-130
