National Visa Center (Dept of State)	No case number still from NVC..Please help...	Hi, I called them this morning for our Case #. Our NOA2 date is 12/27/12. Dial 603-334-0700 HAVE READY A)your Receipt number (the number you used to look up your case status on USCIS website) B)YOUR date of birth C)your fiance(e)s date of birth. They are only there from like 7:30 to 12 or something like that...I know they stop taking calls at 12 EST. So call now! Despite people talking about a wonderful automated system...that was dumped back in the spring, so if you don't call during the few hours they are operational you are out of luck. They were VERY VERY kind to me...the call took all of 2 minutes. I received our case number, but was informed the file had not been sent on to the embassy as of yet. I hope this helps! I will definitely keep the Supervisor information in my mind. My timeline keeps saying the end of January, so I will wait until then and see what happens. Basically our petitions sit in a box collecting dust for 5+ months then they are assigned to an adjudicator. If YOUR specific adjudicator is slow or gets hung up on a few more difficult cases (that require more background checks) that can slow up the process for the files that adjudicator holds. However, that adjudicator SHOULD move on to easier cases while waiting for the check on the more complex cases to come in. All in all, if your case is easy and cut-and-dry the process is 15 minutes on average for an adjudicator to pick up your file, do the necessary checks and approve it. For more info...search the forums for these interviews. UGH!!! it's impossible for me to have any hope around those dates because every single day or 2 it's different. It was awesome when it was moving backward, but that only happened for a couple of days and then it started the other way and now it's just going further and further into Jan. I think i'm doomed to be into Feb. at this point.... Have they been approving anyone? We are noa1 date 7/3 and were approved thru vsc on 12/27. Has it all just slowed down? They had really picked up the pace for a month or two. We're August filers, we were so pleased for you guys when we saw that July Petitions were starting to get approved, we've watched and felt your frustrations knowing that we're next ... the last couple of weeks has been especialy hard watching our expected NOA2 get pushed back towards the end of February and we really feel for everyone that is going through this process ... the only solice is that you know it will happen! Keep you head up and your heart strong! The hardest part is the wait after that is goes REALLY quickly...so use the time to get prepared...get your docs together...fill out forms etc...assuming you haven't already. According to YOUR VJ Timeline...any day now...see below copy and pasted from your profile. "Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between January 20, 2013 and January 26, 2013*. " Yea I touched 6 months on friday also. I dont feel like asking my fiance to spend hours on the phone during work hours because I'm not even sure if calling them will achieve anything. I'm trying to force myself to focus on other things like work, spending time with friends and family while i still can. It helps for a while but then i still end up checking whether we're approved first thing in the morning. I hate that. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Vermont July Filers!	We got our case number from NVC yesterday and were told that our case left for the consulate on 8th January. I called Knightsbridge today and requested my medical for that week. All you need for medical is police certificate and case number. I saw my doctor about the vaccines and they said they wouldn't do them on NHS and I would need to pay for them so just going to get them at the medical. All good to know! Ok he is calling tomorrow to get an appt. good luck...keep us posted!! Hello everyone - just an update from a July 18th VSC filer. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Vermont July Filers!	Sorry I'm getting confused, am I right in thinking I need the hard copy NOA2 for the interview? Do I also need a photocopy of it? If so what's that for? Lol so easy to get confused with this stuff. Your american fiance should get a hard copy of the NOA2 in the mail in the next few days. From my understanding he will be sending a packet to you with everything you need for the I-134 form. With that form you are to include a photocopy of the NOA2. In addition, with the packet you will send originals of all pertaining docs (his Birth Cert, Passport, etc also the original NOA2) See below for more info. I could be mistaken as I am only just getting into this...so please confirm before sending anything I copied this from another thread: 1. A copy of the entire I-129f package (that you made when you sent the petition in) and a copy of information that you sent back due to an RFE (if you received one). 2. Send all originals of the documentary proof that you submitted for the I-129F to your fiance(e) for their interview at the embassy. 3. Send an original letter affirming your desire to marry your fiance(e) and your continued support of the K-1 Visa. Sign and date the form. This will be similar to the letter you provided with the I-129F, but dated much closer to the interview (it will have most likely been several months since you submitted your I-129F). 4. I-134 Affidavit of Support form. Ensure it is signed, with all required supporting evidence. Begin collecting the required information ahead of time, as it can often take several weeks to collect it all. 5. You will likely need at a minimum (for the above form) two to three of your most recent pay stubs and a signed letter from your employer listing you job title, start date, your salary, and the status (full-time) of your position. Begin collecting these ASAP after your NOA2 arrives. You will also probably want to include other evidence such as your banking information and other assets as required by the I-134. Specifically you will need at least 2 of the 4 options mentioned in Section II-Supporting Evidence of the I-134. See this FAQ for more tips and ueful information on the Affidavit of Support Form. 6. A copy of the NOA2 that you received in the mail. 7. Proof of your ongoing relationship. This needs to be taken to the interview! Include photos, travel documents, emails, etc from between the time you filed and present (NOA1 date-now). Examples: Copies of land line and cell phone bills, appropriate emails and letters you have sent including the stamps on envelopes (to document the date they were sent), and other written documentary proof. Provide a reasonable amount; two to four of each type. Pick a range of dates up to and including the present. You can also include a copy of engagement ring receipt (this is something that is a big optional - do not worry if you do not have a ring yet!) I'm self-employed too, so that adds even MORE fun to the mix lol I already ordered my tax report, which should take about 7-10 days and Andrew had his police report aleady ordered (we aren't too worried about prior records since he is a cop haha) All in all..our only next concern is getting a job for Andrew, since he won't be a citizen which sadly, rules out his current career. Hi guys just wanted to let you all know I arrived safely in the US yesterday and now I get to spend 2 weeks with my amazing fiance! Passing theough customs couldn't have been easier, i think I'm still in a state of shock! I had come armed with documents to show my intent to go home after my visit, I approached the guard who took my passport, he then asked me to put my hand on the scanner took my picture and stamped my passport! As he handed back my passport he asked why was I going to that particular town as there's nothing there and I said its where my fiance lives, he laughed and said he thought that was a good enough reason. He then asked me what food Scotland was famous for and this resulted in a 2 minute conversation about exactly what goes into haggis!! He then wished me a happy thanksgiving and a safe onward journey!! Can't believe I wasn't asked anything until after I had my passport back and then the 2 things he asks are a bit random! Not that I'm complaining. Hope you're all doing well and hanging in there. Gail That is so wonderful to hear!!!! It seems as long as you are honest they at worst, just remind you not to get married. Hope everyone is doing ok since hurricane Sandy?? Seems some are saying they are getting closer to the 5 month mark for processing...let's hope they keep speeding up! All is well....gas is INSANE...lines miles long. I finally got power back today...it's been really crazy esp with the temp dropping to 30 at night. Everyone I know is safe though! My power was delayed bc of an endangered species of owl in a tree they needed to knock down. Had them scratching their heads for a couple of days trying to figure out what to do with the little guy. lol Anyway...hope everyone on here is well and distracting themselves during the wait! We don't skype anymore and when we do his face is like this :| and he doesn't really chat much, which makes any convi difficult. He doesn't really chat when we just msn. I'm having doubts we'll make the further 4/5 months i'm estimating it will take. I'm going out to see him next month but Idk if it's gonna be the last. Hi! This is a tough process to go through. We have date night we do dinner and a movie and we also leave skype on all night so its like we are sleeping next to each other (better than nothing) and sometime we go shopping together ill put skype on on my phone and he travels with me.... That is adorable!!! I love hearing about the other cute things people do to make it "feel" like they are with their loved one! I filed 6 months ago and still didn't hear anything from vermont office. I check my case status almost everyday hoping I will see something new but still the same "saying they are doing a check background on me and on my husband. Really 6 mnths for a check background. I don't know why it is taking so long. I missed my husband so much and I want him here next to me hhh. Hope everyone will hear good news very soon. From everything I have read, the centers swing back and forth ...apparently last year this time California was behind and VSC was flying...so let's hope the pendulum swings back the other way or at least evens out!!! Not sure if "craziest" but it was a funny thing... we dress up! this one time I put on a kitty mask and my fiance put a shirt on his face making it look like he was a ninja... and we have the photos to remember that! lol... it's usually that kind of things, wearing random stuff (bowls on the head, wigs, aluminum foil for "grills") how about you guys? My fiance and I filed in september and got transfered to VSC... so of course reading all this I'm freaking out! It's like it will take a lifetime to see my fiance again . But I'll try to stay positive. I'm enjoying reading this thread so far and pretty much all the advice on this site. So if you guys could give this newbie a couple tips to not go psycho while waiting (considering the whole process just started for us), it would much appreciated! Hello Everyone!!! We are at the 4 month mark of waiting hoping we will at least hear something by December from good ol'Vermont, but guess we shouldn't hold our breath lol. I'm hoping to get back out in February for 2 weeks but I'll need to wait and see what happens. Dreading coming back after this trip as I won't know when I'll be with him again. HAHAHAHA!!!!
