IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresVisiting the US during the CR-1 Process
I visited my husband in May for a month during our wait for the NOA2 and got through the border control at Tampa airport fine. I had brought a whole folder of evidence that I was going back to England- letter from employer, bank account details, appointment letters for when I returned etc. They never asked for any of it and told me to have a great time. I think it just depends on the officer but if you have evidence with you, you should be fine. Good luck, and hope you have a great time together.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCSC - NOA2 to NVC Delay
On Monday I sent off my DS-3032 email as soon as I my husband had rung up and got our case number and IIN number. Today I got this reply, which seems similar to the others but appears to say that they have not accepted my agent email...is this because they haven't actually processed our case yet even though we've got both our numbers? We waited 5 weeks from NOA2 to getting our case number and seems as though there's more waiting to be done just as we got excited about things moving along.

Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC).

We updated the email address for this case. Please continue to notify the NVC of any change of mailing/email address, or change in personal situation that may affect the principal applicant's entitlement to a visa.

We are unable to add an agent's information to the case record at this time.

This petition is now eligible for further processing. The petitioner, principal applicant, and/or attorney of record will receive an instruction package regarding further processing of this petition.

If a period of one year passes from the last date of contact with the NVC (by telephone, mail, or email), all submitted fees and documents will expire. If this occurs, your fees will need to be repaid and documents will need to be resubmitted in order to continue the immigration process.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresScheduling a medical exam and police cert
It's totally fine to schedule your Medical before your case is finished at NVC. I did a few days ago for September 6th. You will need your police certificate though, or at least a copy. I ordered two just in case at the start. You could ring them to check if a copy is ok so you don't have to pay for another one.

We got our case completed at NVC on September 7th and got my interview date of October 14th yesterday. So glad we got one for not too long away.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCR1 Visa in hand.. what now?

Hi, well... it's all coming to an end and I will finally be reunited on Sunday

But.. i still have a questions..

I know I am on a CR visa which has to have the conditions removed 90 days before the 2 years. I will cross that bridge when I come to it.

Q's

• My IV stamped in my passport express in april next year. I understand that this is just to prove the visa until my green card arrives? But do they update the stamp in my passport?
• What if i need to renew my passport in a years time, do they put the stamp in the new one?
• Is my green card my main proof of visa?
• What kind of rights do I have being conditional? i.e. can they deport me for nearly any reason? what if i got arrested for something minor?
• Do i continue to go through the foreign person line when I enter the US?

anything else i should be aware of?

thanks

Congrats on your approval!
I had my visa approved on Thursday at the embassy and I asked the lady some questions regarding the removal of conditions to prepare myself. Interestingly she told me that I can apply for my 10 year green card after only 9 months of living in the USA. So 90 days before 2 years after my wedding date (6th Oct 2010), not 2 years after my POE which I thought was the case. Just wondering if anyone else had been told this?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresVisiting while K1 is pending
I just returned to the UK after visiting my husband in the US for a month. I had no problem at immigration, they were in fact very pleasant, and our NOA1 came back in March. I took a whole folder of 'proof' that I would be coming back to the UK but only asked me two questions at the border- how long would I be staying and the purpose of my visit. I told the truth and the officer even told me 'to enjoy my visit'. I wouldn't worry about traveling there. As long as you have proof that you're working, which you have, and a return ticket you'll be fine.

Australia and New ZealandAverage Sydney US Consulate VISA/Passport Recieved

Was it issued yesterday or today? If so, yes it should be to you soon smile.png Hope so!

When they issued my visa, I got the email the day they issued it and my visa the next business day - so if that isn't your scenario I would be feeling frustrated also and you would need to get onto the consulate asap. (Which of course I know you know, I was just saying...)...

Also when they sent my visa, Aussie Post didn't register my express post envelope, so I didn't know they had sent it until it rocked up at work - which in the end was great but I was kept in the dark (stressing, as one does sad.png ) unnecessarily!!

All the best to you both. Everything will come together for good for you both in the end.

Take care

I just received the email saying they are sending my passport and visa today. Fingers crossed that the ustraveldocs profile option for delivery is expressed post and they can get it to me by Monday. I still don't have a tracking number which is a little worrying.

Still the wheels are turning even if it is slowly.

Australia and New ZealandAverage Sydney US Consulate VISA/Passport Recieved

Hi there...have you checked the website to see the status of your visa?  https://ceac.state.g...ker/status.aspx

The Sydney consulate are pretty good at getting back to people so hopefully it won't be too long for you before you hear something.

Take care

I checked the ceac site and it says Issued. So hopefully it comes in the mail soon or I at least get an email.

Thanks for the help. I sent an email but I doubt that I will get a reply from them anytime soon. For something that affects peoples lives so much they have zero to no ability to contact them with issues like these which is very poor

Australia and New ZealandAverage Sydney US Consulate VISA/Passport Recieved

On the 10th December I got approved for my K1 Visa. The lady gave me a slip saying generally 5 working days to have the visa printed and sent.

It is now the afternoon of the 19th and I still haven't heard anything from the US Consulate in Sydney. I was wondering what is the actual wait time and what would been the reason for them to be taking longer the usual.

Thank You for your help.
