This is based on the data posted by VJ members.

Thanks Greg& Set this is helpful!  Looks like some couples that have received their NOA1 around the same time as me, have already received their NOA2.....so I will keep my hopes high and my fingers crossed.

USCIS Service CentersAnyone know the avg wait time for NOA2 from the TSC?

Hi Everyone,

My fiance and I received our NOA1 about a month ago and the receipt said that our case was going directly to the Texas Service Center.  According to the USCIS website they have been sending all newly filed I-129F forms from the VSC to the TSC, since July 29, 2013.  Since that service center does not usually process the I-129F, I can not find the average wait time for the NOA2, on any of the official websites.

Does anyone happen to know what the average amount is?  The wait during this time is so dreadful, but it helps to have some form of a mental countdown, to the day when you can be with your loved one once again.

Thank you all in advance!

I received that same notice on the USCIS website on September 4th and my NOA2 on October 15th. I called USCIS when the a# change was entered on the website and they stated "it means that they have put your information in the system and are compiling background checks on you and your fiancé... when they have enough information it is sent for approval to an office." I hope this helps!

Well that is good news...at-least they are looking at our case already.  I am crossing my fingers.  Thanks for the information! smile.png

Them assigning you the alien registration number means that your petition is in their systems and your file is now waiting to be picked up by an adjudicator. Welcome to the NOA2 waiting game :)

And it only took them 2 and a half months just to put me into the system....boy am I feeling lucky ??

Hi everyone,

My fiancé and I are waiting for our NOA2 and I just received a case status update from the USCIS website that says "your alien registration number was changed relating to your I-128F, Petition For Fiancé". I tried calling their customer service number to find out what that means but I am having trouble reaching someone. Anyone know what this means?

Thanks so much for your help!

Don't know if this helps but I received the notification of alien registration number being changed on October 16th and then received an RFE on the 24th.  So maybe it just means that you are one tiny step closer in line, for someone to review your case.  Good luck everyone! smile.png

I was emailed the same message too yesterday.  I filed the I-129F on July 22, 2013.  Notice date on NOA1 hardcopy is July 26.  I hope this is a good sign smile.png . Btw even though VSC should be the one processing the papers, it went to TSC .  The receipt number start with SRC.  Also I noticed on my timeline on VJ that processing time has drastically reduced from December to October ! I just dont know how closely accurate it is.. but Im hoping for the best dancin5hr.gif

I received the same message yesterday. I too hope this is a good sign. I called and talk with someone yesterday and they says it means our case has been just started to be processing. I look at it as a good sign. We will see!!!! :-)

Has anyone received any updates on their case status, since receiving the alien registration number change?  I received the same email on October 16th (2 and a half months after my NOA1) and I am trying really hard not to get my hopes up about an imminent NOA2 :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWill a K-1 application submission delete previous I-130 submission (merged)

Thank you both so much, for clarifying!

I guess I need to find a new lawyer because when I wrote to her asking her to clarify, seeing as it is impossible for the I-129 to delete the I-130 from my fiance's records.  She wrote back that she did not mean that the I-130 could be deleted just because we filed for K-1.  She just meant that due to the fact that we filed the K-1, he wouldn't be denied by the consulate because of his I-130.  The Embassy can still deny his student visa but it won't be because he previously filed for the I-130.  She did not give me any explanation behind her comments.  So I am as confused as ever.

If anyone knows what she is talking about please let me know.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWill a K-1 application submission delete previous I-130 submission (merged)

Hi everyone!

I am new to this site but I have been reading many posts and they have been so helpful in understanding the K-1 process.  I am going through all of this with my fiance and I was hoping someone can help me understand something a little better.

To make my story short, I am US citizen and fiance is from the Ukraine (Kiev) but was in the US on an F-1 student visa when we met and started dating. While we were living together, he and his mother (who has recently became a US citizen as well) applied for I-130 petition for alien relative, then he had to head back to the Ukraine to help his sick grandmother with doctor's appointments and registering her into a facility where she can stay and receive treatments and care.  While he was there his I-130 paperwork was processed and now he was told that he will have no issue leaving Kiev but that he will have trouble getting back into the US.  I have gone to a lawyer and have just sent out the paperwork for a K-1 visa.  My lawyer says that once the K-1 forms are processed and in the system it cancels out the I-130 application and my fiance will be able to come visit the US, using his still open F-1 student visa.

I wanted to know does anyone know if this is true?  Does the K-1 erase the I-130 that they submitted?  Will immigration let him into the US within a few weeks after the first NOA?

Thank you everyone, for your help!! smile.png

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDoes The Intent To Marry Affidavit Have To Be Original Copy?

Maybe DHL for one document will cost less, he should go and weight it at their office to know exact price. I suggest you two to test normal post one day ;-) any way you will still send correspondance in future smile.png

Let me know how much charged you DHL smile.png

I will definitely let you know as soon as he goes! smile.png

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDoes The Intent To Marry Affidavit Have To Be Original Copy?

10-15 days????????? this is a nonsense!!!! in august i was sending a PARCEL to the US (and it takes more time to be delivered as far as it stays for checking at the ukrainian customs with declarations that are attached to the parcel) and my parcel was delivered in 10 days!!!!  letters are easier to deliver as far as they do not stay at customs etc...so it´s kinda hard to believe it takes 15 days for a letter to be send to the USA......i guess it was misunderstanding wink.png

Ha-ha I guess we have just been lucky like that...I received his signed G-325 after 10 business days after he sent it.  He also did not tell me that DHL was available....probably because he knew that I would convince him to pay the extra money to get it to me faster goofy.gif    It stinks to have to pay so much for DHL but 3 days is SOOOO much better than 2 weeks

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDoes The Intent To Marry Affidavit Have To Be Original Copy?

hi, he needs to sing the original letter of intent and also original G-325A form, no fax or scanned...as for time of sending from Ukraine to the US it takes via ukrainian national post around 7-8 days but also he can use DHL, FedEx or UPS delivery.

Hi Loving girl

Thank you soooooo much for the response.  You just made this crappy day a little better! :)

We already sent in the original G-325A, that is why I am so frustrated with my lawyer, because we already waited once for his package to arrive, for 3 weeks.

Do you know which carrier delivers the fastest from the Kiev to the US?

I am not so much concerned about the cost as I just want it to get here quickly.  The last time my fiance sent me a package, he was told that 10-15 business days was the quickest mail can be sent.  I would be happy to use DHL, FedEx or UPS if he can.

Your Letters of Intent definitely need to be original documents.

Good luck!

Thank you and same to you and your loved one!! :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDoes The Intent To Marry Affidavit Have To Be Original Copy?

Hi Everyone!

My fiance and I just received and RFE because our lawyer did not include or inform us that we needed a statement of intent to marry  within 90 days of his entrance into the US. cray5ol.gif Needless to say, I do not trust a word that my lawyer tells me anymore.

So we both have to write and sign these affidavits of intent.  Does anyone know if this document has to be the original copy?  Or can my fiance just fax or scan/email me his signed letter?  I ask because I want to submit this as soon as possible and not wait for 3 weeks while his letter arrives, from the Ukraine, in the mail.

Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated and more trusted than my lawyer's opinions.

Thanks All!
