Hey you guys!! We also got approved two days ago! It all went really fast since we had NOA 2 and I will be flying over to my fiancé next week when the visa and my passport have arrived!

I always was a June filer but read here a lot when it got quiet because all others from june already were approved. Thank you guys for all your help and I wish you all the best!!

Hey guys,

yep we got approved after the really bugged them :-) So happy!

USCIS never wanted to do a service request for us either since we didn't file before March! So I would really suggest to get congressmen involved. Not only will you get your service request but also a little pressure for USCIS. Do it now as it will probably take 2-3 weeks to get a reply from your congressman! Good luck!

Hey, guys! We from June are still waiting too. 198 days and counting...
Our petition USCIS says got assigned Nov 13 to an officer and ever since no one has even looked at it even though they said we have had no problems and backgrounds are fine. I almost bet we will hit our 7 months mark this month before we ever get Noa 2. I think for a lot of people that have to wait longer it is just at random that the file still sits in some box. Hopefully, we will all get cleared though very soon!!!

I agree, we have all waited long enough... 197 days as of today. That is insane...arrrg

I have another question for you guys: Does anyone here know when you got assigned to an officer? We are supposedly assigned since Nov 13 and there are no problems but nothing happened yet?! Anyone any idea?

This will be my final post. It can be deleted moved , I dont care but you are all the only family I have now and I want you to know my story because its all about to end.

When I was 9 years old my parents got divorced, my dad left and I was lost without him, he was the best father there was. My mom was angry and she took it out on me , the abuse started and continued for years. When I was 12 to the age of 16 my mothers boyfriend sexually abused me , my mom didnt care , finally I ran away and went and lived with my father. I was married to a abusive man for many years and I had given up any hope of finding someone who would be nice and gentle with me and then Keith came along and showed me how a woman should be treated. He was gentle and kind and when he touched me it was love. He never raised his hand to me in anger and when he held me in his arms I felt safe for the first time in my life.

My father died when I was 25 years old, he was 46 the same age that I am now. I have struggled with this pain all these years as I was a daddys girl and dammit I need him now.

What kind of a man can leave me on my birthday, what kind of a man can leave me a week before xmas, what kind of a man can hurt me so deeply and just disapear off the face of the earth and not give a #### , what kind of a man can do this?????

Christmas eve is so hard for me as that is the time I would spend with my dad and I miss him so much. Last year Keith sat and held me in his arms the entire night and told me he loved me and that he would be with me for always. LIES LIES LIES

This Christmas Eve I give myself a present and it will be the best present in the world and I wont be lonely anymore, No man will ever break my heart again, no man will ever hurt me again no man will ever mess me up ever again NO MORE

I say goodbye to all of you and I wish you all the best and all the luck with yur loves. Hold them tight , dont take them for granted and tell them you love them everyday and never ever give up because its horrible.

I love you all and I am sorry that I am not strong engough to do this anymore. I am sitting here listening to our son... you light up my life when I sent this to him 2 years ago today he cried and told me this is OUR song.. more lies?

on xcmas eve I will listen to this song, I will light my candle and I will drink a glass of wine, I will be all alone and never will I be again

Goodbye everyone and god bless you all
Hugsss
Chelle

Chelle, I do not find any words to express my sadness when I read your post nor do I know how to help you in this situation because I am afraid you can only help yourself!!!

Please be careful and take care of yourself. Try to be with friends that can help you and where you can stay so you don't have to be alone. Giving up is never a real solution. You deserve so much better than what you had. If Keith isn't wlling to give it to you then I am sure he didn't see what a strong woman you were in the past and still are right now.

Please, take care of yourself!!!

PB &Jam,

I wish there was something we could do.

Look at us June filers. Still waiting, and the past month we have almost exclusively seen July and August being approved. Even though two June filers got in there last week.
Don't know if VSC knows what an 'ORDER' is.

Sweety, keep your head up! Be discouraged and sad for a while and then stand up again with new ideas and maybe even alternative plans. You two have gotten so far that this won't break it.
Try everything you can to get him to the US and if that doesn't work, how about moving to Europe with him if he is here right now??
USCIS for sure wouldn't bother you anymore. good.gif

How many of us in this thread still haven't been approved or had an RFE? I know there at least are one or two others out there...it's getting lonely in here!

June filer here!! No touches since July 10. Join the club!;-)

I can't imagine how stressed you guys must be sad.gif. Your timeline says your case was assigned to an officer- have you heard anything since?

No, we haven't heard anything since. However, I think we will probably get NOA 2 or an RFE before the year ends. I just think our officer is slow or maybe was on vacation. Some other June filers got approved last week and skeez&Titanic as well as Chadherm are still waiting too. I think our files are just in between the later ones. No reason to worry. I will worry again if we find out we are in AP or something. But for now...whatever. We wait. There is really no system in who gets approved when. Unless there are problems, it is simply luck. We will have another infopass Dec 19 and will contact our congressman/senator again after the 6 months mark (Dec 22) just to push them a little bit and make it known we are still here and waiting. I don't know if that helps, but it is worth a try.

I have noticed though that I think a lot of the July filers were around 150 days when they were approved. i think that's pretty late compared to the earlier months where 11-130 days was standard. It just shows that VSC slowed down because of naturalizations and we are probably just lucky enough to feel this impact. ;-)

Have a good weekend, everybody!

i dont know about anyone else but im sick n tired of waitng n watching everyone else around me gettin their NOA2s. we filed way back in June, but had a hiccup when VSC took 5 weeks to tell us we forgot to do something in the package so our NOA1 date is August instead of late June or at the very least early July. so now its december 9th (well 10th here in Oz) and we are still waiting. it would be soooo nice to receive the NOA2 in the next couple of days and maybe have the packet No.3 before they all close for Christmas ( what a wonderful present that will be) well i guess there isnt much more we can do but wait, we have called USCIS a few times but all we get told is that its pending. its sooo annoyin having someone else controlling your life. feels like its never gunna end!!! anyway all im tryin to say is that there are people out there that are very very lucky and there are some that just have to be patient n wait like me. something good is just around the corner. in 6 months im sure we will all be laughin at how frustrated we were waiting for the Visa's lol

I hear you and feel the same! We have filed in late June and haven't heard a word since our NOA 1. We have called, went to infopass appointments and yet here we are! I guess the system would be fair if we had an RFE and that's why July/August gets approved now before us. But no, we haven't even heard a word ven though NOA 1 is dated June 24! And there are two more people that are in the same situation. I just don't know what VSC is doing to have some petition late like that, esp. since from my understanding backgrounds checks are done by the adjudicator. According to USCIS we were assigned Nov 13 to an officer- already that was after 90% of all June filers were approved...So how long will it takes us now?? Only god knows. And we can only pray and wait...

So I am feeling for you. You are not alone. There are a still of us lonely people left waiting. :-)

I have a question...We got our approval on November 5th and Johny still has not recieved his packet 3 yet....anyone have any idea of how long it takes...I think i am going to call the NVC this coming week, I just have not had time to even think let alone make phone calls between work and school and trying to get immigration things finished up....

This is too long...You should definitely call NVC and see where your file is and whether they sent it out or not.
Might be they sent it and your consulate is not the fastest...
Or might also be that they are doing additional background checks. Ask them in particular about this as they won't tell you if you don't ask!!
Good luck!

Oh someone here mentioned 4 months is a reasonable time to wait for the best thing in life.
Sure I agree. But what about 6 months and longer? I don't think this is reasonable anymore especially if people have a past that is as clean as it could possibly be...It screws over our plans and, honestly, we are already considering moving to Germany together. Who on earth today can afford living in limbo like that forever? If I would have known it would take us so long, I could have taken a much better job. Instead I am doing ####### work while waiting for this fu*** approval which lowers my motivation for life in general. I am ready for this to be over.

What a bulls***. Here we would just get married, register him as my husband and that would be it! Weird, hm?

I don't even wanna think about how escadia here thinks. She is stuck at USCIS for over a year without any news.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresnot sure about k1 or k3... specific situation
I think K1 is easiest and fastest (if u wish to call it easy and fast) in your situation.

But the basic distinction is usually that K1 is a fiancé visa which means that you are not married yet and you intent to marry in the US. Whereas K3 is a spousal visa which means you are already legally married once you apply.

I cannot tell you how fast you can work with a K3 visa, however, working legally with K1 is not that easy.
Those stamps for the EAD at the POE are not always given (some officer seem not to even have heard of it; best chances to get it seems JFK airport). If you don't get the stamp though, you have to apply for EAD which takes about 2-3 months. Once you get married you will have to file again EAD together with the AOS which again takes the same amount of time. Putting this together, unless you get the EAD stamp upon arrival your fiancé probably won't work for about 5-7 months after entering the US (and provided she stays about 2-3 months before the actual wedding). ANother option then is: she enters, you guys marry immediately and file for AOS and EAD which shortens the wait of actual EAD to 2-3 months if you are lucky.

ANother thing that just crossed my mind: why don't you do a direct consular filing (DCF)? As far as I know it is way faster and you can do it if you are married and if you have lived for at least 6 months (or a year I am not sure) in UK. Search through the forum if that might be an option for you guys.

Good luck on your visa journey!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresResidency Overlap
I had kind of the same issue as I was having my family where I was registered in the household and my campus address in two different cities. I put both with the overlap on the K1 however I dont know yet if that was right... secret7vf.gif I guess it will just depend on the officer working on the petition what decision he will make. In the worst case you will have to provide evidence on it (RFE). Shouldn't be a problem.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresEconomy and K-1 Filings
Yeah I assume a drop in all visa application too but for various reasons and not just the mail ordered brides. I mean once the economy struggles people start worrying more if they will be able to find a job. But to be honest, I don't know if 9% is correct but if it is then this is nothing to really worry about. 9% is still lower than what we have in many countries all over Europe and still I know that you will get a job at this rate if you are decently qualified and willing. Maybe some people might also start thinking about whether it becomes more attractive for the USC to come to their country?!

It's on us, the beneficiaries, to educate us in order to give us higher chances on the American job market. Learning English, getting work experience, not being picky about the jobs we will take, and getting an education in the US or at home (even if that might not always be equal to the American education) is crucial (for finding jobs in the US but also anywhere else) I assume.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureslong wait
YOu should be able to get some answers now after 8 months of waiting. Vermont currently processes within a 6 month timeframe (or at least should) so that if you are over that you can start complaining.

I think you pretty much did what you can to find out about what happened. I guess you now have to wait for the reply to your senator's inquiry. I hope it's gonna be good.

I know how you feel as I have almost the same timeline and still did not get our NOA 2. However, I hope and pray and am almost sure that we will hear something soon as it seems that there are still some of us left (with the same timelines). I know it hurts; even though my fiancé is with me until the end of this week we permanently talk about NOA 2 and how we wish to not be restricted by some government processes to be able to live together.

We try to 'waste' time by preparing the forms and our wedding as detailed as possible until now. We also keep talking of how we want to decorate our future apartment together etc. It makes us feel as if we will be soon together,

Which we will be, and you with your fiancé soon too!!!

All the best,

My two guesses:
- We were approved On Nov.13th, so the glitch only concerns pending applications (which is the worst! I totaly understand you guys!)
- My Internet browser is Opera. Yes, the box next to the case # gets ticked, but it still opens.

Anywho... Not sure... Hope whatever it is gets fixed ASAP. good.gif

I don't think it matters much. People get approved no matter if you are at 130 or 140 or 20 on Igor's list. I would rather take it as a toll to see how the others before and after you are doing. I am somewhere in the 60 now I believe but I have seen many behind me who got approved weeks ago.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresstill waiting for NOA2
Hey,

I can totally feel your frustration. It is the same for us right now. Seeing so many people getting approved now that have filed in July pisses me off. I am happy for them but really angry at USCIS. Plus we can't even get answers whenever we call them. Just a bunch of worthless call center agents that don't know anything else than what they have on the website. Funny enough when they told us last that they are working on March 3 right now, my faincé said "you must be kidding; look at your screen. This update is two months old. Do you wanna tell me that USCIS wasn't doing anything for 2 months?" Hahaha...you could feel the lady getting uncomfortable, her voice started shaking and she just said "Sorry, Sir. You are right. I don't know why that is."

Looking at all timelines, we shouldn't worry before we hit 180 days. Most get approved before then. Having said that, I know how hard this is as I have a hard time sleeping and not thinking about our K1 visa.

Good luck and stay strong. It will be all worth it!

Glad to hear a success story like yours!
We are still working on making our dream of being together true.
But I am sure at the end of all these past months of worrying, dealing with family members that don't want to support us because they feel 'left', coping with USCIS and job loss uncertainties everything will be worth it and paid back by unforgettable moments together.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresIs that normal about NOA2
I have read the same problem from someone else these days in this forum. I think you are probably already approved and maybe USCIS for some reason didn't put it in in their ###### up computer system which never works. Stay calm. In the best case you are already approved and your fiancé will hear soon from her embassy. If that's the case you will need to contact USCIS again because you need that NOA2 later on I think.

In the worst case you are not approved and keep waiting... dead.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat was the fastest NOA1 to NOA2 for Vermont filers in 2008?
Common people! What's that arguing for? I mean, people got lucky so what?

We should rather use our anger to change things at USCIS and complain, because obviously that's what causes this unfairness. I mean I am not saying that all petitions should be approved in the exact order they came as I understand that different things need to bechecked with different people, but seeing people getting approved 2-3 months before myself who have send it in at the same date is far more than just unfair.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresthe GDR and a US visa today
QUOTE (Chris & Mara @ Nov 27 2008, 10:18 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Your NOA1 was only issued in June, whilst it does state that by VJ standards you have pasted your adjudication time, remember that you cannot start hassling USCIS until you pass the recommended 6 months (or I believe it says March 08 now), if you do all they are going to do (in most cases) is tell you that you are still within your adjudiction time.

I know its hard (ive only been waiting since August and I am struggling) but USCIS isn't going to be any help just yet sad.gif

Hold on there and stay strong.

I know that. We are not bothering USCIS until we are really past due. I am just having this posted because my dad worries a lot and I am curious if they also check my parents' background for my visa.
How do they handle people coming from former communist countries anyway I wonder? Does the US government still care about that? It seems kind of outdated to me.
