CanadaChange K1 Interview date?

I just booked my interview for my K1 visa at the US Consulate in Montreal. The date is a little father away than I expected/hoped it would be. Does anyone know if I'm able to change the date of my interview to an earlier date if someone cancels or a spot opens up?

CanadaK1 visa and passport delivery question
I had my interview last Wednesday the 15th at the us consulate in Montreal...my passport shows it has still not been picked up by the courier service. The only number I have to track it is my reference id that was given to me when I registered for loomis originally. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Has anyone else waited this long? If someone has any insight I would love the help. Thank you

OK this makes me feel much more reassured thank you!!

Now is it the petitioner or the beneficiary that receives the hard copy or email? or both?

I just talked to the NVC and the woman said it takes 8 weeks for the case to get to the NVC? Have u heard of it taking that long before? I thought it was much shorter than that

Then you have been approved. Call NVC and ask if they have your case. Although it is taking some time for tsc transfers to get a case number no harm in calling to check. Your noa2 hard copy will also take time to come in the post.

You can always call uscis to be sure.

It's not that I dont trust you I just need that reassurance as to howww you can know its approved. I definitely believe you but its just a big deal ya know? someone said TSC sends a different message or something??

IT'S APPROVED AND ON ITS WAY TO NVC.

On other peoples it says that they received an email and a letter is sent in the mail...just curios because my case says none of that

When I look on the USCIS website to check the status of my petition it is at the "post decision activity" stage. But it doesnt not say whether it was approved or not it just says this....

"On August 15, 2013, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly."

Does this mean it was approved or not approved or a final decision hasnt been made??

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHelp please! Info on Affidavit of Support

If you're applying for the K1 visa, your fiancée (or a co-sponsor) must prove she can provide financial support for you, by proving she has an annual income at 125% of the poverty line for her household.  I say this with the assumption that you are the foreign fiancé and she is the U.S. citizen.  Is that correct?  You'll need evidence of this at your consular interview, once the petition is approved, and then you'll need to submit this evidence when you apply to adjust your status once you're married.  Usually this involves pay stubs, tax returns, letter from an employer, etc.  If she doesn't meet these requirements, you can have a joint sponsor who does and is willing to sign an Affidavit of Support on your behalf (depending on your embassy, but I believe Canada allows this).  This person can be a friend, family member, whatever.  As long as they are a USC or LPR, working and living in the U.S. Your income usually isn't considered much, depending on the embassy where you live... But some embassies allow self-sponsorship for the K1 (you'll still need your fiance to sponsor you when you apply for your greencard).  Check the country portal and read reviews of your embassy.

Thank you for your response, it was very helpful. Yes I am the foreign fiance and she is the us citizen. I know that she absolutely makes over 125% of the poverty line. So thats it? As long as she makes that then I will be OK? I know I aswell make over the poverty line. Also, are you aware of approximately how long it takes to receive an EAD after filing?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAffidavit of Support Question

so my fiance makes under the required amount to qualify or be eligible to "support" me while im in the USA...so weve called upon her parents who make enough, i know that my fiance still has to file the affidavit along with her parents....my question is...since her parents file taxes together and ill only be bringing one tax return form for the both of them, do they both need to file an affidavit or just one of them because there money is joint?

also, my interview will be at the montreal consulate, anyone know of a reaistic wait time from when they receive my packet 3? ive seen recently just under 2 1/2 months but also around 4 months

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMedical Examination question
I have my visa interview in Montreal January 15th. I am currently in the USA with my fiancé and still need to do my medical. How close to the interview can I schedule my medical. I do have one scheduled for the 6th of January. All I really want to do is reschedule it to the 7th but I just don't know if that's enough time for the doctor to send me the files and papers I need for my interview. Also, I made my appointment for the interview a few months ago and the receptionist told me I needed four shots prior to the medical. I know two of them were the flu shot and the chicken pox, but I cannot remember the other two. TD shot maybe? And does anyone know if I can get them all in one day?
