We applying for I-129F. For that purpose my Indian fiancee needs her birth certificate, which was lost. Does anybody knows the procedure on obtaining a copy of the lost birth certificate in india?

Hello,Everyone.

 

So we never got the packet 3,even though embassy informed us that they mailed it. Now they saying that we can go ahead and schedule the interview online. However, hospital wont let us do the medical exam until we have the appointment letter.

 

Another question - do we still need to fill the ds-2001 and ds-230? Or online ds-160 is enough now?

 

Please someone who had recently gone through the process - give us your steps. We short on time and pretty confused on the process.

Just got reply from the ustraveldocs.com to my inquiry about the cut envelope.

 

 

We understand that you want to know the process to be followed, as you have opened the sealed yellow packet.

With regards to your query, we would like to inform you that, an applicant who is given with a sealed yellow packet is expected to travel with the same to the U.S and hand it over to the Port of Entry Officer and is not supposed to open it. Since you have opened the sealed yellow packet, you would need to walk in to the consulate where you were interviewed.

Please follow the instructions below in order to proceed further.
BMB accepts all such cases between 07.30 and 08.30am
NWD accepts all walk in between 10.00 and 11.00 am

Please be informed that, you will be communicated by the Embassy/Consulate once the packet is sealed and it?s at the sole discretion of the Embassy/Consulate to process the same.







 

Once again i want to reiterate that we did not open it and we received it with a cut off corner. Tomorrow my fiancee will go to the embassy to seek clarification.

This is normal and is exactly how it's supposed to be - don't worry about it and whatever you do, don't open it. wink.png

 

Yes. I did some research online and it appears that embassy does it on purpose, so the airport security can see that its just a papers. Or for whatever other reason. Nevertheless, i sent an email to the embassy asking about it.

IndiaSealed envelope is cut

Today my fiancee finally picked up her passport with visa along with the envelope from the OFC. However the envelope is damaged. It appears that someone cut off a small corner of the envelope (about 2 inches). Its not an accidental rip or some transportation damage - it is a very clean scissors cut, so now it is visible whats inside it.

 

Please advise how to solve this issue. Can she arrive to the embassy to have the envelope repaired? Or resealed? Because i know we cant leave it the way it is - it will be an issue at POE.

When you case is ready for an interview, you will reveive a letter saying that you can now schedule the interview. At this point you need to go online and pick the available date and time.

congrats! the first step is done! 

 

uscis will send your case to the nvc and it can take up to 8 weeks to get the letter from them saying they sent your case to new delhi. they've recently been backed up, it took us 7 weeks to get our letter. on that letter they will tell you your new case number, which is what youll use from now on whenever looking at the status and contacting the embassy.

 

the government just changed their process for visas a couple weeks ago. i contacted (by email) the embassy this week and asked how to get an interview (because i knew things changed, and the embassy hadnt posted the interview schedules). this is what they replied back;

 

'dear applicant, 

Your fiancé visa case is now ready for final processing. Please carefully follow the interview preparation steps below. 

Step 1: Obtain your Police Clearance Certificate from the Regional Passport Office. 

Step 2: Complete your medical examination with an approved panel physician from the list available at 
http://newdelhi.usem...cal_report.html. 

Step 3: Complete Form DS-160 online athttps://ceac.state.gov/ceac/ and print the confirmation letter. Please do this for the fiancé and any derivative children who will be applying for a visa.

the pcc is easy to get, but must be from the passport office like it says. heres the website.

register, fill the application, pay and you can just walk in to the office when you are ready to get it. my fiance said it was really easy and he wasnt there very long.

 

the medical exam can only be from the max centre and it doesnt seem hard to get in. my fiance called first and will be doing his exam tomorrow. they told him itll take a few days to receive the paperwork that he will need to bring to his interview.

 

you wont be able to do anything except get your pcc until you receive a letter from the embassy because you need your case number and the letter to fill out the ds160 and get a medical exam. i hope youre a patient person! good luck and i hope this helped! smile.png

You saying that we wont be able to do much without a letter from the embassy. Can you tell what is the content of that letter, because i know our case number. Also Max hospital asked us for some appointment letter. What appointment letter are they talking about?

3. No AP yet. (simply because its only been 1 day. Mandatory AP is due soon. But i am terrified to death of the AP procedure after reading all the lengthy horror stories here)

8. No red flags that I'm aware of. Interview was approved without any 221(g)'s or anything. Fiancee was told that she should receive her passport within 10 days. (Praying)

 

I am very sorry for all you guys who was in AP for a long time and praying that you all get your visa soon to be with your loved ones.

I will keep you updated on my status in this tread.

Congratulations... We also didnt put too much in the package. Passport stamps, boarding passes, itineraries, few photos... No letters or chat logs. All together came to about 30 pages. Its amazing how some people send hundreds of pages and wait for a long time...

This is not an approval. Its a standart procedure which occurs with pretty much every filer. It usually happens week or two after the package is received by USCIS. What it means i dont know, but it is most likely has to do with the Alien Number being assigned to your fiancee.

My fiancee had her interview today. Thanks God, she was approved.

But they didn't take any of my income evidence. They took I-134, but didn't take my pay stubs, employer letter, tax returns, bank letter, none of that (my fiancee simply forgot to give it to them and they didn't ask.). I know we been approved, but do you think it may be an issue?

 

Also, how soon after the interview CEAC status usually changes from Ready to AP?

My fiancé case was in AP for past 10 monthsClockWatch2.gif at New Delhi, even his passport was remaining at New Delhi.

On December 2, 2013, his passport was sent back with a letter to submit new medical and PCC with passport. 

We submitted documents requested with passport on 12/13/13.

On 12/23/13, he was approved for the visa and he already got his passport back with visa yesterday.

We are so glad that this AP is finely over. wow.gif

WHat happened at the interview? Did they give you anything? Did they approve you on the interview and then just held your fiance's passport?

Can you give more details on how your interview went?

Did you try to contact embassy during your waiting time? What did they say?
