It is depressing seeing all the interviews get scheduled. I keep calling NVC hoping for a miracle, lol, though the odds of getting an interview for December are slim to none. Even January is unlikely. Guess I'm not the only one. It makes no sense that they don't adjust something so these certain embassies aren't always backed up! There was one point where Jordan had a wait time of 6 to 8 months before you got your interview. That is ridiculous! Now it is down to about 4 months so I guess you can call it progress. She does things and tries to do them quickly, but I get no real results from it, just more information I pretty much already knew. What they are looking at in NVC I don't know. I still have that link someone provided that tells you which security checks are done at which level. The NVC security checks are not supposed to take more than 24 hours, but in some cases it can be much longer. I hope that isn't what your stuck in or that any of us get stuck in it. I'm not an August approval, but I was delayed sending my husband's DS-230 because of the original documents they needed and him not having the new Iraqi G-series passport. He first tried refugee during the summer and this required him to bring all the original documents. We had heard and were told refugee is faster than spouse visa so we gambled and waited to continue on with the spouse visa (you can see how well that worked out). Also, they needed him to give copies of the G series passport which is not easy to get outside of Iraq. He requested it last December and didn't get it until July! I worry about my husband's police clearance certificates. The NVC website says they are unavailable for Iraq so I didn't submit one. He lived in Syria for just short of a year so I didn't send that either as we couldn't possibly get it. He couldn't get a visa back into Syria to obtain it and the Syrian embassy in Amman refused to help with the clearance or even give us a paper saying they don't issue visas to Iraqis or police clearances. Since he was one week short of staying in Syria a year it shouldn't matter as the guidelines say it must be over one year before you have to provide it. I did type a letter explaining why we did not provide the police certificat for Iraq and Syria (giving exact dates he resided in Syria). I hope this will suffice so we can skip the RFE. We did give a police certificate for Amman though it has not been one year yet that he has been there (it will be in another month and a half). Only problem is the police clearance didn't put his surname on the clearance. They just put his first three names so hopefully they will let it go on that one. Otherwise I will argue it hasn't been a year yet and he can provide a new one at the embassy interview. Anyone think there will be problems in all this? I really worry. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	10 Months?? Seriously?	I was part of the group that didn't get their NOA1 for many months. I filed in September of last year and didn't get the NOA1 until January. I live each day knowing if my husband is sent back to Iraq then he will be killed for marrying me. We have no idea when this process will finish because background checks are very lengthy. For now I can't even visit him easily. It is a tough wait and I don't wish it on anyone. Unfortunately, until her spouse visa is approved, I don't believe there is any way for her to come back to the United States. They will not even let her in on a tourist visa at this point. I don't know why they are just now sending the auto response. I thought they weren't getting it so I sent it on three different emails, lol. I know I have no wedding photos, but neither of us had family or friends in the same country as we were in at the time we married. We just did the courthouse part and they didn't allow pictures there. Not really a choice, just the situation with the war and him not being able to travel easily. Those are the hardest days for me too. I've had two birthdays go by since my marriage that my husband couldn't be with me for. I cried when our wedding anniversary came and there was no good news. His birthday is coming next month and then we will have missed two of his birthdays. I just keep telling myself "next year, we will be together for all of those things". Like Lindsay said, we both dream of our future together and talk about it a lot. We have days where we get really depressed. We also worry because my husband is a refugee and Jordan can kick him out at any time sending him back to Iraq where he will be killed (he recieved death threats before he left). Sometimes when I can't reach him on the phone or internet I go so worried I go out of my mind. Mostly, though, I pray and try to think positive. I try to think of ways to prepare for when he comes. Each day we know each other a little better from all the emails, IMs, and phone calls. It helps us to know what to expect from each other. I have only been able to see him once since we got married so it really has been hard after all this time and not knowing when he will come. I just do my best to keep positive. Nothing else I can do. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Can anyone tell me what packet 3 and 4 are all about???	Your case has moved the fastest I have ever seen. Congratulations for that! I wish I saw more people move that quickly. As for the packet, there is just the one where you send the DS-230 in with all required documents. The other packet you hear about is the appointment letter with instructions for what to do to prepare for that interview (so nothing to worry about). It looks like your doing fine. Good luck!
