How long it takes to change passport to married name

Im glad that i joined in vj now in this topic i have an idea to ask.

Im just got married last 2011 August and our MC is till in NSO im waiting for the release and im working outside country for about 5 years now and my Passport will be expired on Aug.2012 im still under the Green passport and now that i got marroed my husband will file i-130 and in filing of that they need my copy of Birth certificate , passport and Marriage contarct to submit to USCIS .

My question is this , It is fine to give to my husband my passport copy under still my name because i didnt yet changed it or renew it. and to renew my passport they need my Marriage contract for change also of my name and status .

In order to file a UScis I-130 it is fine to give my passport copy as under still my name (single)?i hope that there will be no problem on it.

Name Change on Unexpired Passport

Does anybody know if I can change my name on my yet-to-expire Philippine passport? It's relatively new. I had it renewed in August 2010, before I married my husband, so I used my maiden name. The reason I'm asking is that I know I need to send a photocopy of it to the NVC. But I'm using my married name for this whole process, and I'm sure the NVC and the Philippine consulate will require my passport to be in my married name. Or will they? And if I could "renew" it under my married name even though it's not yet up for renewal, would the NVC allow me to send my present passport to them (the one with my maiden name), while I'm waiting for the delivery of the one that would be under my married name? I'll bring the latter to the medical and the interview and continue using my married name for the rest of the process. Will that work?

Great that i have the same story, which is also my passport will near to expired im waiting my marriage contract also so i can renew my passport and send to my husband . i read a days ago that its ok not to renew as long as it still valid and you have the Marriage contarct . one member replies to me that u can explain it to the USEM or USCIS but for safe i will do the safetest way i renew and change my status so no more hazzle in case.

Please Tell me if assumption is correct..NBI vs Police certificate

Really its big hel this VJ to me this is my case now im currently working here in bahrain and got mrried last aug 2011 and since my entry here is single . wht should i wrute to my ploce clearance herein bahrain? im waiting my Marruage contract so i can renew and ammend my passport so after that im planning to get the police clearance here in Bahrain . My question is Do i need to go to the Phil embassy here or direct i can go to CID and take a Police Clearance ? and wht name should i put? my single name which is when i enter here is singel and just recently married., or do i need to put My married name?

Interview Pushed Back???

I had a quick question for everyone out there - I just got the letter from NVC today stating my husbands interview is on the October 9th today (september 13) I dont know though with everything going on in the Middle East at the moment though if it will get pushed back? Has anyone else's got pushed back?

Just keep on Praying that everything will goes well.

I have also my interview on 4th October here in Bahrain though there is some rally infront of the US consulate here still i do believed everthing will be fine , I hope and pray for peace.

Copy or Original Document?

Verification isn't the only reason. I was from Canada, it was both our first marriage, no children, we only sent in what was required. I waited 145 days to get my NOA2.

It's more of whose desk your petition landed on. If your petition landed on a desk whose officer reviews petitions quickly, grats. If your petition landed on someone's desk who reviews petitions much more slowly, well, too bad, you really can't do anything.

hello, i would like to ask you and i know u will help me too.

we are also first marriage and we are still waiting our marriage contract which will gonna release on first week of Oct. then in filling i-130 i read that my husband need my our marriage contact and passport copy of mine and also my birthcertificate copy .

since we are newly wedd and im working outside my country my passport is still my single surname and iam planning to renew and chamge my status of it.
but my embassy consultate here were iam working now need a original marriage certificate and it will took probably of 1 a and half month to process it .

What my question is do i need to send also a original print out of my G325 with my signed to my husband or it is fine to send a copy of it with my signature through email ?

Sorry for a lot of question coz im new in this site and we are also planning to apply for a 1-130

Documents doesn't need to have that red ribbon authentication. You worked abroad? Because one requirement also is getting a police clearance from the country you worked at, this is needed at the NVC Processing but it's better to have it ready. Read on the guides above for CR-1 Processing and also read on US Embassy Manila's website. Good luck!

Hi Vj members! specially to those who are already start process their CR-1 outside Philippines.
I would like to ask that if the documents like Marriage contract,birth certificate are need to be authenticated by the dfa or NSO?

I got my BC aauthenticated by NSO and now waiting my MC which is still under NSO manila.

are they really need to authenticate agin by the dfa? which they called it red ribbon.

and since im working outside country i took my nbi last Sept 6 in manila when i had my vacation and my wedding as well .

My question is do MY nBI really need to authentication(redribbon)?.

and how many pcs each original documents i need with the red ribbon?.

I know i have a lot question but i will be heartedly appreciate your response .

Philippines NSO certified marriage contract

Greetings VJ members,

Married May 12th in the Philippines my wife and I requested advance endorsement of our marriage contract from the municipal hall where we were married. Apparently the clerk did not advance endorse it and we have yet to receive it. My wife discovered that the local NSO office could authenticate it so she could renew her passport. She also received a transmittal and flew to Manila to get the normal NSO certified contract. She ordered it and it will be around the 25th of October before its available.

My question is if she can just send the authenticated contract to me and I use that for the NVC (Remember it has been authenticated by NSO even though its the municipal original). Then present the one from the NSO in Manila at interview.

Thanks for your help, waiting for our NVC case number now as they received our case on Sept. 15th.

Thas my problem too im still waiting my MC authenticated by the NSO but they said it will take normally 6 months but i hope and pray that my sister will get it now . then need to authenticate it in dfa.(red ribbon)

Hi VJ members, I would like to ask about the Electronic Immigrant Processing ( DS-260) for CR-1 . Does any body used this DS-260 or experienced to used this form instead of DS-230 ? How accurate is this Form?

I just read about this Form .and i want to know if any VJ members are going in this Electronic Immigrant processing.

Anybody has taken or used the Electronic Immigrant Processing? How accurate it is?

hi VJ members ! I am really confused now. Im presently working here in bahrain for almost 5 yrs now and i got married last August in the philippines and came back after the marriage here in bahrain and continuing my work.

My question is . Where my Husband should take the address for me in applying visa? Is that true that were you held your wedding and marriage the interview will be also in my Place (philippines)? If that so Wht adress should my Husband put for me to apply on my visa? Is it possible that he can apply and process the papers here in bahrain then in the interview process i will go home and take the interview in my home country? Hi ! VJ members. I have a few question about those who fnished their CR1 process . Im working outside of my country for aout 5 years now almost 6 yrs let say. and I got my vacation last august2011 with my fiance and now is my husband we got married also last aaaaaaaaaugust 2011 and after that I came back here in Bahrain were i presently residing and working. My husband and I are planning to file and process our papers here in Bahrain .My question is It is that True that in Interview I should go back to my home country to have my interview there? Cause i heard and read before that If your marriage was held in beneficiary homecounty her interview will be there also even you filled a caase where she is presently residing and working .I am so confused and I need your help .

Certified Marriage Contract OMFG!

Greetings fellow VJ members,

My wife and I were married on May 12th In Misamis Occidental Philippines, and have been trying to get our Certified Marriage Contract from the Philippines NSO. When we were married we were told that it would take 3 months. After 3 months we checked with the closest NSO office and they stated no record had been returned. My wife then checked in the Cebu NSO and they did not have it yet ether and also stated they only had records threw March as of yet. She then contacted the local NSO office Ozamiz and they told her they could give her a transmittal letter (Or something like that) so she could pick it up in Manilia. Now today she again went to NSO in Cebu and they stated they had files up threw April (Which sounded great until), but then stated it would take 6 months to a year for them to have the file.

Is there anyway we can get the C.M.C. without her traveling all the way to Manila? This is a nightmare because our petition was approved and we are on the NVC stage now. No one else seems to have waited this long to get theirs. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Certified Marriage Contract OMFG!

Did you check with the Local Civil Registrar where you both got married? Sometimes the delays are with them. It maybe because they had not forwarded it yet to the NSO office the reason why you marriage is not yet on their data base.

yes its really take 6 months or a year to release the MC from NSo but you can request is the longest time for special request is one month.cause normally NSO registered all MC for about 6 months .

i got married last aaugust 24 2011 and i have to wait for 1 month to release our mc then i we will start to process IR-CR1 coz i need also mc for my passposrt change status .

Need a little help starting

Great that I read this , Yes like wht i read and heared from other membershere it will take 8-12 months for CR1 and like yours we are also newly wedd and were planning to file our pettion this month as soon as my husband get my docs. he will start to file it.

as a bonifide evidence , we will just include a coppy of our Marriage Certificate and a copy of his boarding pass and some receipts from the restaurant were our reception held, and also 2-3 pcs of our photos of wedding with my families and 2 pages of chat log through skype.

I hope that my Bonifide evidence is acceptable to them.
