Hello friends,

This situation is not ours, it is about some friends whose AOS Application was refused due to my Chinese friend has the 212(E) rule. I would like to know if there is any possibility to appeal the decision, what do they need to do? They only have a month or so until the visa is due. Yep, the didn´t apply for the waiver, can be it done now?

Hello VJ's

I got today the receipt for the I-601. After this NOA, Is there any other notification that will come?

For your information, My husband and I already have our interview, but it was kept on hold since I still need to submit more documents to prove my decision to apply for a 601; and the reason is based on moral and religious convictions.
At the interview, the officer said that I had to sent the application to the correspondent office, once I get a reply, take a copy of that and sent it to the local USCIS office where we were interviewed, so the officer can proceed with the next step - approval.
Now, my husband says that I don't need to send this receipt notification to the local office, but to wait to get the approval for the 601. So, this raised my doubts, because I remember the officer just said to sent a copy of what we get after sending the application.
So, my question is for those who had already file a 485 application, then had to file the 601, how many NOA's did you get?

I can call on Monday to verify this situation, and also to make sure if the receipt number is correct, since I entered at USCIS link "Check my status" but it shows "Your case cannot be found a this time". Meanwhile, I want to hear from others too. :thumbs:

I realize this is an old thread and the OP is probably not following. I felt compelled to join the forum just to respond to this one thread so that people researching this topic in future have some facts rather than fiction to go on.

I filed i601's for my family of 4 on moral/religious grounds (immunization waivers) for our AOS, and it was granted no questions asked. Like literally, it was the one area that during interview was flicked through, but no verbal reference was made.
I also used Alan Philips who laid out what we needed to present and how to do it.

It is unhelpful that people like me don't follow up on these threads (in this case this was not my thread), but don't take that to mean the petition was denied and the OP is sulking. Unless you hear for sure one way or the other, do not draw a particular conclusion.

My understanding is that quite a lot of people file the immunization waivers and are successful. Most choose not to broadcast it because they don't need the bashing from the pro vaccine crew.

Had this topic been about an i601 based on criminal convictions, the responses would most likely have stuck to the facts rather than resorting to accuse the OP of making poor life choices because they don't agree with them.

So if you're looking for the likelihood of success for filing an immunization waiver, I believe (based on personal experience) that as long as your case is accurately presented and meets the requirements, you will be approved.

Although the main question was asked in 2010, still is not outdated. 

 

I personally filed a Vaccine Waiver in 2009 - I did NOT have any problem, therefore my petition WAS successful. 

 

Secondly, vaccines should NOT an obligation. Period. It is a medical advice but not a controlling matter to make an individual subject of it. I have lived 31 years free of vaccines, since I was born, and it goes back to my parents and grandparents and so on.

For this reason the waiver exists and based on the reasons it may be applicable to your case, then please feel free to exercise your rights as well.

 

Yes, it was granted to me based on Religious grounds, along with three letters translated into English, certified and notarized. The letters were from people who are not from the same church but who have known me since I was born, stating that we practice a healthy lifestyle and though we do not reject medical advice, we chose the option of what is best to our health. Once was from my family's doctor as well.

You are not the only one in the same situation. My husband, since he graduated, is also hunting for whatever job that doesn't want to be able! He is meanwhile doing sort of different small works (a friend from his church got for him some housekeeping job). We wake up everyday praying and thinking: "maybe today...". Trust you might find a job in the process. As it has been mentioned above that your tax report will show your situation.

Yeah, that works! Actually a friend of mine bought a very cheap ring at some store, just looked fancy but he did not spend so much money. (plus they need the money for the process fee). Anyway, you know what is better for you. Good luck!

Another question from me sorry it is just every time I start to relax another thing pops into my head and makes me go crazy.
So since my fiance (USC) and I started planning everything for our k1 journey we have been so caught up in it that well we never picked out or bought an engagement ring for myself.
To be honest I really would prefer not to even have one. It just isn't really of importance to me.
But I was wondering if this would look bad at the interview?
Any input on this would be greatly appreciated and set me at ease for the time being :wacko:

I consider it is not an issue that will be let you out of any process. My husband wanted to get me one, explaining honestly to him what I did not consider a necessary thing to get a ring, so we both decide that it was not going to be in the list for keeping us together always. At the interview I did not have any problem, we were not asked why we do not have any ring, anyway, I was prepared to give my answer if there was such a question.

Congrats and welcome! My hubby, mom in law and three dear friends came to my ceremony, which was last October 30th. I still recall that moment, we were 77 applicants becoming American. Congratulations everybody who's case status was updated on the 9/20!  Us next please!  Corrected Ryan_and_Priscy's interview date from 10/14 to 10/24.  Does everybody get put in line or do some people get scheduled straight to an interview without being put in line?

 

 

Thank your for correcting my date! Regarding if I was put in line, well,  I did not receive any hard copy about it, but after my fingerprints were taken, if I remember well, after 1 week I saw the status at USCIS.gov and it showed that I was in line. That is how I knew that then my interview date notification would be coming in.

Oppss! I saw your message until today, sorry! Well, this is what I have: I filed my forms and signed on the 4th of July, sent them on the 6th, and the letter they sent me confirming that the documents were received, dated July 12, same day when they cashed the check.  The notification for my appointment was created on the July 18 and is scheduled for August 06. (I am confused now!) :-p

My green card expires on May 3, 2012. But I sent all paperwork last February 14. Just today (Feb 25th) I received the NOA notifying I will be receiving an Application Support Center appointment notice with a specific tame, date and location to capture my fingerprints... etc.
I am pretty confident about this, it has been only two years but our life filled with lot of experiences. :-)

Never trust using USPS services, they are lazy! Better use UPS, it is more expensive (but not that much) and works on time. I sent every package certified, so when it was received, I got a call letting me know about that. At my in-laws church, there is a a friend who is immigrant lawyer, she recommends never use USPS. At USCIS offices, when they get the bunch of letters and packages, if they are not certified, they don´t look at them but put them in other place to be opened after 2 or 3 months later (that´s why many people wander why they haven´t heard anything back from their application!).

I was abused when I was little, by an "stranger" who pretended to be a friend of the family. Your situation, I do not want to know under what circumstances you got pregnant, when or why... what it matters here that you are entering a new stage in life of love, trust, and communication. I understand the fear and decide to keep this secret but, you will soon to marry and your husband most likely will become your best friend and confident (because that is how I consider my husband and has helped me a lot). There are scars and wounds that do not heal soon and can remain forever. But forgiveness to yourself is the first step, and then that will lead you to trust and talk about it with the person you love. I am sure he will appreciate that you trust him and there is no fear about the past, that you face now your new life with honor and courage. If he is a man of character and integrity he will understand. It will hurt but forgiveness will come as well. I was afraid my husband would react mad for the things I did unwillingly in the past. But he was very understanding, and became more supportive. And I am not afraid anymore to say how great is to feel forgiven and move on with life. I am grateful to God that he gave me the best husband too.
