USCIS Service CentersHas anyone received a NOA 2 in 2013 yet?!
Hi guys,

I know that this may seem a little vague, but, has anyone had an NOA 2 in 2013 yet?!

I'm from the UK, using CSC.

I keep checking timelines and no one seems to be updating theirs.

My 'Estimated Date' has been and gone.......

Thanks for your help.

United Kingdompacket 3 form questions

Hi, im sorry for asking these questions, im sure they have been asked before, but I have been looking through the forums and cant find answers and some answers were from a while ago so I was wondering if anyone could give up to date answers cause I know some things change.

DS-230

Right Ive read that it is only part 1 (upto question 35) you fill in and send in on all of the websites. But I've also read on here in the london forum that recently they have been asking for part 2 in the London Embassy. So my question is.... Should I fill in part 1 and 2 (upto question 44) and send them in (apart from the bit that I need to sign when im there). Then at least it is all done, and if i dont need it then they can ignore that?? Or just send in 1 (upto question 35), and take in part 2 complete with me on the day so that if they need it I can just pull it out?? Just  send in part 1. Take part 2 to the interview. You can fill it all in, but obviously, don't sign it until you are there. (I think there is a line on the form saying 'do not fill in below this line'.

DS-2001

I've read that you need to send in a cover letter along with this form. Is there and example of one anywhere that I could use as a template, or can anyone give me a list of what to include in it. My cover letter contained - My name, address, case number, LND number, what documents where in the envelope (if they were signed/unsigned and if there were 2 copies), the date for my medical.

DS-157

It asks for all of the different ways to spell your name. My name is Amy, so do I need to write in all of the different spellings because there is a LOT! Or shall I just put in Amy and also the same for my middle name Elizabeth. Just put 'Amy'. The box is there for people with names spelt with non standard English letters.

Thank you for you help. Again im sorry for repeating questions that have no doubt been asked, but I just really want to make sure I get it all right.

Hope this helps....

United KingdomConfused about CEAC status
Hi guys

I had my interview today and checked my case status this evening. It says AP on mine also. Interview was at London.

I hope it's not in AP, as I fly on the 14th! Do you think the steps the operator described are correct?

Cheers

Rob

Hi all,

I had my interview on Tuesday, 4th of June. My visa was approved, and the CEAC website is also now telling me that my visa has been issued.

Question is, how long did everyone wait for delivery notification??

Congrats!!!

It seems that contacting congressman/senator does work since USCIS processing cases with later NOA1 dates than the others. My NOA1 is August 10th, 2012 and still waiting.

To be fair, our congressional aid was great. He really did pull out all the stops. You should definitely contact yours if you are able to. Even to let them know the situation you are in....

And, Thank you everyone for your congratulations!!

Most congressmen have an 'Immigration Relations Consular Aid'. I put in a request, and to be honest, they have been fighting my corner ever since.

Just call them... I found it easier than waiting for them to reply by mail. Once you have spoken to them, they seem to contact you by e-mail rather than mail.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat are the chances....

If you take a return flight itinerary, as well as a printed copy of your original submission and NOA1, you'll probably be absolutely fine. They might give you hassle, but there's very little chance they won't let you in. I'm flying into JFK April 3rd - there's always a possibility they'll turn you back, but not very likely.

When was the last time you visited and for how long?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat are the chances....
Yeah, I always take my return ticket with me, as (and correct me if i'm wrong) it's a necessary document with regards to the VWP.
In fact, I'm sure they asked me for it the last time I entered.

Did you take any proof of employment?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat are the chances....
Well guys,

I love reading all these stories about people visiting! It can be a heart warming read when you in disillusion about the whole process...

So, what do you think my chances are for another visit at the end of April for 3 weeks? History as follows....

April 27th 2012 - May 7th 2012 (POE Newark)
August 23rd 2012 - August 29th 2012 (POE Chicago O'Hare)
November 14th 2012 - February 9th 2013 (POE Chicago O'Hare)

I am a self employed carpenter, with work booked in for a building contractor when i return (letter detailing this).
I have plenty of funds to support myself.
DO NOT HAVE mortgage, rental agreement, car ownership
DO HAVE creditcard bill, shotgun license (only I can open the cabinet, Illegal for the gun to be in my fathers house when my license expires), will have a return ticket, my NOA1, K-1 paperwork.

I've never had an issue coming through before, but it's always nice to get the opinion of others.

Do you think i should change my POE?

I know about the whole 'your not guaranteed to get in' stuff, but others experiences are always a plus...

Thanks in advance!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresVisiting CSC....
So, I think now that October filers at VSC are being processed, something really has to be done about the state and rate of CSC!

Any ideas?

Maybe we should all take a visit?! That's if the CBP officer will let us in the country due to extenuating circumstances! (For some, an 8 month wait!)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMedical in UK
Before you can book the medical you need the 'LND' (case specific for the London Embassy) number from the NVC.

I am at exactly the same stage at the minute.

As soon as i have the 'LND' number from the NVC, I will prepare packet 3, book the medical, have the medical and then send packet 3. I don't want to risk my case not being at the embassy and have everything on the way!

See this for the medical info....

Ps. Do you have a timeline?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresEntering US with K-1 Visa and round-trip ticket

I bought a round trip ticket too. I fly with American Airlines, and like you said, its 500-1000 dollars cheaper!

No questions were asked at POE (I came in 8 days ago).

I Intent to reschedule my flight for some time next year, as i think you can push it for up to a year. But, your always going to have a spare ticket.....HA!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresYes, you can visit!
Hi guys,

Just thought I would let you know I entered the US today at Chicago O'Hare.

Went a little like this....

'Reason for your visit?' - Vacation
'Where are you staying? - Chicago
'Who are you visiting?' - My fiancée
'What do you do for work in the UK?' - Construction

'Four fingers and look at the camera please'

Total time, 45 seconds!

I had everything with me! K1 package, proof of ties, return tickets, NOA 1, NOA 2....EVERYTHING!

He didn't even ask how long I was staying for! Stamped for the full 90 days on the VWP.
Rob CMaleUnited Kingdom2013-04-24 23:12:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresYes, you can visit!

There is no set timeframe - you have to leave the US for a non-contiguous country and then your 90 days is reset. Whether or not you are allowed to re-enter the US is at the discretion of US Customs. They will look at how likely it is that you are going to return to your home country i.e. what are your current ties? And have you spent so long in the US that it looks like you're living there.

My trips in the last year have been:

3 - 17 April 2012
31 May - 6 June 2012
18 July - 15 Oct 2012
1 Dec 2012 - 28 Feb 2013

I plan to fly again on 3 April for 2 weeks but will change the return portion of the ticket once I'm in the US if our NOA2 does not come in. There is a strong possibility that I will not be let in this time but will take all my documentation with me to prove I have to come back. Also, I would hope the fact that I've never overstayed and that we will have been waiting over 8 months for our NOA2 by that stage will help.

Yeah, I think I will try at the end of April. I think a 76 day stopgap, a healthy bank balance, and like you said, a return ticket (easily changeable) will be ok. I'll be taking everything I can to prove i'm coming home. Work agreements, phone contracts, doctors appointments....the list is endless.

Have you been in touch with anyone about your long wait? congressman etc?
Rob CMaleUnited Kingdom2013-03-22 13:27:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresYes, you can visit!

You've not said what your POE is but I assume O'Hare, which is the same as mine. Some POEs are more difficult than others but often it's the individual officer you encounter that can make the difference.

I have entered the US four times in the last year and stayed a total of 199 days (just added it up - blimey that's a lot - you'd might even think I want to live in the US  ).

I take it that you must live somewhere even if you don't have a mortgage or rental agreement. I rent a room off a friend. What I did was got her to write me a letter saying when I'd paid my rent up to - or rather, I wrote the letter and she signed it! I also got a rent book from WH Smith and got her to complete that.

You say you have enough funds to support yourself? Bring bank statements showing that. They are not interested in credit available on credit cards - just cash in the bank. Last time I had less cash in the bank than usual as I was waiting for funds to be deposited, so I used my credit card for everything in the two weeks leading up to leaving the UK. Then when my funds cleared snd I was in the US, I paid off my credit cards.

Thanks for the reply. WOW! 199 days! your doing well!

Yes, I enter via O'Hare normally. The first time I entered via Newark and then flew to Columbus, Ohio. My fiancee has relocated since.

Do you think there should be a certain timeframe i leave between visits? it will be 76 days between the two visits.

I currently live with my dad. My mother passed away last year and he needed a hand, so i sold my house and moved back in with him, knowing about the pending move to the US.

How many times have you visited this year?
