Maybe peek into the regional forum..they will definitely be able to help you. In Vancouver they ask you to fax it and bring the originals with you. But I realize every consulate is different. Sorry I couldn't be of any assistance. Congrats on getting back together though! This process is trying.

That's smart. More of the embassies should do that.

I know short of being able to e-mail it I think its a great idea. And work has a fax machine so I like to not pay for my long distance faxes... blush.gif

Agreed. As much as everyone would like to believe VJ is a be all end all. It isn't. You filed to VSC in February. You have at least another 3 months for waiting for your I129F to get approved. I'm going to burst your, its going to be fast bubble and tell you that it isn't. Aim for July as mentioned above and hopefully you'll get pleasantly surprised on the interim figure out what else you can do that is productive to stop you from thinking how crappy the wait time is.

In Canada's defense I'm sure they had to do more than just show a marriage certificate. One of my co-workers just brought her husband over from the PI and it took about 6 months. The thing is not as many people are immigrating to Canada like they are to the US.

And...I hate the questions. I've stopped answering lol.

Hi all, glad to see the October thread!
I've sent our package on Oct 7, USPS certified with e-delivery confirmation; it got there on Oct 9, signed by V. Semegi. Still waiting for the NOA1, and since it's Columbus Day I know it won't come today - USPS is closed.
I'm looking forward to a really short timeline for all of us!

We're slowly but surely coming out lol. Just wish there were more VSC filers around. I mean at the end of the day we're all the same but comparisons within the same service centre are always nice.

Thanks! That is reassuring that I am not the only over thinker! I think we have a good balance now, with six photos, various passport stamps/visas, and a set of boarding passes...

My poor fiance is like running around Paris freaking out trying to redo the 325A and retake his photo - it seems something always goes wrong at the last minute...well it adds a little spice at least wacko.gif The problem was we found a gap in his employment history when he was a student, so had to change it and wrote in:
none- student, science and technology at X University, Paris France occupation: none (and the dates)
I know that is not an employment per se but it explains the gap in his jobs - is that ok?

Beans -

That is so F#$% up! What a country we live in...they ask someone to sacrifice for your country and then don't provide adequate support for them afterwards, and to add insult to injury, they could count that against you for marrying the person you love!?! What BS. I hope that won't be a problem for you two. If it ends up being an issue you might consider contacting some of the veterans support groups in the US (VFW or Iraq Veterans Against the War... there are lots of groups) to see if other folks have faced this challenge? Just an idea...But I'd say for now don't stress about it, as long as you have the co-sponsor support with sufficient income etc.

That's a really good idea if push comes to shove I will have to remember that, thank you!

I didn't send it certified mail - Instead, I sent it Express Mail and signed up with USPS later to have a copy of the delivery receipt e-mailed to me. I know everyone suggests to send it certified mail, but.. mine seemed to work out just as well, and my NOA was delivered to me quickly. smile.gif

As for over-thinking it, believe me, I was going nuts with it, too. I went as far as to send along copies of baggage tags that he happened to leave here after his visits. tongue.gif Among other things, I also tried to include at least one picture from each time we met. We ended up traveling to different places, so I made sure to include a picture from those times to reflect all of that, and to match the information I sent. So.. no worries, if you're overdoing it, I totally overdid it. tongue.gif

Regarding what the adjudicator might think, though.. it really depends. VJ has an interview posted with a member who was once an adjudicator who was asked a similar question, and this was his response:

QUOTE
So, as I would heft this door stop of a packet onto my desk I would first think to myself that while it may be a tad much, this person has their stuff in one sock so to speak (translated – you have your act together, maybe a bit over the top- but together none-the-less). I would always have too much information to look through than not enough and have to send out an RFE. It just may happen that a piece of supplemental information is found on those extra documents. One never knows…

As an adjudicator, I know what exactly I’m looking for, what’s relevant and what’s not needed to be looked at right at the moment. I’d check the things I needed to check and basically ignore the rest, (unless I needed to find a specific piece of info that I thought might be included within your packet). Otherwise, it all stays in the file, but unless its something I’d deal with to make a determination on your case I wouldn’t bother (unless it was a real slow day and I wanted some entertainment or something to talk about at lunch with the co-workers. “Hey Mary, you should’ve seen the packet I got today…” Just kidding. We usually never talked shop and because we’re always busy, time to browse doesn’t usually happen.

So to answer your question more directly – I don’t think it’s gonna hurt your case any if that’s what you’re worried about.

So no worries - I'm sure you'll be okay. Best of luck to you with the start of your journey. smile.gif

Yeah, it's the support issue. Currently, his mom is our cosigner but he is on social security disability from the military. I just don't know how well that is received in the eyes of immigration services.

Boy, do I hear that!!! I wonder if they have any clue how emotionally draining it is for all of us who are simply wanting to be with the one we truly love! ? And their the ones holding everything up!

I dont really think they care about that. They are just there getting a paycheck. So as long as they are meeting their numbers enough to keep their job thats all that matters to them.
On another note, I tried to go into the website to check my status, when I click on "case status online" I keep getting the internet explorer blank page error. Does this mean they are updating or is that my wishful thinking?

I'm going to be one of those people most don't like but it needs to be said.

Yes, the system has flaws. However, we do have to keep in mind it is a logistical nightmare to do their job. Could you imagine how slow the system would be as a whole if they couldn't issue approvals as they arrive or an adjudicator couldn't start work because his coworkers were still working on later files. Does any of this make sense? I imagine they do process cases as they are received BUT every case is different and every circumstance is different. You may think it is cut and dry and it could very well not be.

Now, that said I'm not one of those people that says this after they get approved. My petition has gone missing, it's been sent to wrong consulates, anything that could have gone wrong with our case short of an RFE has. But yet, I didn't call USCIS once when they didn't cash my cheque. I gave them time and refiled. NVC on the other hand..thats a whole different can of worms...

Long story short, I'm sorry your petitions have gone unnoticed for so long and as much as we'd like to think its a customer service oriented industry it isn't. What they put us through is for a reason and pretty damn good one at that. In fact, I hope the Government of Canada is this thorough as well.

I feel as if we're in AP with DHL. Packet left NVC on 14 April, I tracked it online with DHL, and it arrived in South Africa on 16 April. The shipment was stopped on Saturday 18 April....and it's still there. Every morning it gets scanned and still says shipment stopped, so it's now been a week that it's just waiting at the depot to be delivered to the consulate mad.gif #######!

Beans, could you not pick your packet up on the DHL system to rack it?

To those of you still waiting for your NOA2, you're all still in my thoughts and prayers, I havent forgotten you. Strongs! star_smile.gif

Hope everyone is doing well. Hang in there if you haven't you haven't received your NOA2 yet....I've noticed that Tuesday's are usually productive days at VSC good.gif

Update on us: I've been hounding NVC with daily calls to determine if our petition has made it there yet from VSC following our approval last Tuesday April 14th. So far NVC say they have not received it and they advised it could take 2-4 weeks and up to 90 days wacko.gif (Please God not that long!!!!)

Based on what I see here on visajourney some have been received in as little as two days and some have take a week or more.

Best wishes to all star_smile.gif

Yes females 26 and younger need to have at least started the series before the medical and for AOS. Since I'm Canadian I'm one of those people who actually doesn't believe in paying for prescription coverage on my insurance plan because I very rarely become sick and most plans in Canada do not cover the shot anyways. *Shrugs* C'est la vie.
