National Visa Center (Dept of State)I-864 or I-864EZ
My I-130 petition for my father got recently approved and waiting for my mom's approval. Im gathering all info now so when the time comes i need to submit AOS for both my parents, i'll be ready. I'm wondering if I could file I-864EZ for both my parents since my salary is enough (accoring to poverty table) and does not need a co-sponsor. I am a US citizen and filed seperate petition for them.
Any input is greatly appreciated.

tnx!

PhilippinesWhen does USCIS check with NSO?
Hi guys! Im new to this forum and about to file a petition for my parents this week. My case is "almost" straight-forward except that my father have no birth record with NSO. So I asked my father to get an affidavit from 2 people and school record which now I have in my possesion. I am now assembling the application and wondering if I should send the above mention documents even though it is not part of the checklist they have on USCIS website. I know that USCIS will check with NSO about my father's record, I just dont know when. will it be when the petition is with the service center? or with NVC? or with US embassy in Manila?

I would really appreciate any type of input you guys can give me.

Thanks!

PhilippinesHow did you spend the 3 day weekend.
We drive all the way to Old Forge, NY Sunday morning. We got there by 1:30pm (5 hours drive from NJ). 2:00 is the check-in time so we went around the town (pretty small). Rented a nice cabin for $65 a night and just a stone throw away from Lake Serene where you can go boating, kayaking etc... One thing I really like about the place is the water park called "WATER SAFARI" (largest in NY as they claim) its a bit cold there (75 degrees the high) but all the pool and water attraction are heated needless to say my 2 girls enjoyed the stay. Got back home yesterday around 9:00 pm. Tired but happy... If you are going for honeymoon, this is a place I would recommend... and its cheap too... im kuripot... lol... you guys might want to check it out...

PhilippinesOriginal Documents Submitted to NVC
I am on the process of gathering documents to submit to NVC since my father's petition was approved but still waiting for my mother's approval. Now, if i were to submit the original documents, what would my parents bring to the interview? One example is marriage certificate. Do i need to get 2 copies so they can bring it on their interview or NVC will give it back before the interview?

Tnx for the input!

PhilippinesWould it affect my fiancee's K1 VISA with a denied tourist VISA
QUOTE (ArtGirl @ Aug 10 2008, 10:42 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
My fiancee scheduled for an interview this Friday Aug 15, 2008 in Manila USE. Would it affect her K1 VISA because of her denied touring VISA? Would they ask alot of questions about her denied touris VISA last year? Waht she should say to the CO? Right now she is very worried the CO may ask a lot questions and possible dennying her K1 VISA. Because it was my uncle sponsoring her, my uncle he is married to her Aunt(long distance Aunt/Relatives...not by blood).

Any advice and inputs are welcome and appreciated.
Thanks...

It really depends on how she got her denial for a tourist visa. If it's just "not enough ties" to the country she's living at, you do not have to worry. If she got denied coz of fake documents or other fraudulent thing, then you need some explaining to do. I got denied TWICE for a tourist visa for "not enough ties" but were able to get my K1. Be calm and be true to every answer you will give them and you will not have any problem.... Good Luck!

I am not sure if you are allowed to bring an interpreter but what I have heard, the consuls are very fluent in Tagalog.

Pardon me guys, i know most of the people here are in K1/K3 or IR-1 but maybe this also help other people out there. My case is IR-5 and my parents will have their intreview on July 7. Problem is they can not speak/understand English very well. Should I ask somebody to come with them on their interview or will the embassy provide one?

Thanks in advance on your input.

Not all consuls know how to speak tagalog BUT pre-screeners are because they are Filipinos. And I doubt if the guards will let in the interpreter that you will bring as they will only let the applicants get in inside the embassy (except if the applicant is with his/her petitioner). I have heard that USEM is the one that will provide for an interpreter in case the applicant wish to have one.

Good Luck! star_smile.gif

ive read that too... that they will provide an interpreter if one needs it

Thanks to all of you...

PhilippinesCFO Manila - Which One is BETTER?
QUOTE (SoInLove16 @ Apr 30 2009, 01:47 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
There are 2 locations in Manila to do your CFO seminar, PRISM and Saint Marys.

I been reading and people seem to recommend St. Mary's.

I would like my SO to go to St. Marys.

HERES THE QUESTION: - Does it matter if my SO has a K2 derivative? Afterall they need not attend the seminars anyways, too young.

FEEDBACK appreciated smile.gif

Im sorry but I am a little confused. Correct me if I am wrong, they do not do PDOS in CFO main office (Citigold Center). The way I understand it is, they do the seminar in PRISM and then they will send you to CFO main office to get stamp/sticker afterwards.

tnx

I've asked a friend of mine the ingredients of his BBQ marinade, but he guards it like it's the Colonels Sanders receipe for KFC. I know ingredients can be added to personal taste, but what are the main ingredients of typical Filipino BBQ marinade?

here's my recipe for filipino bbq... pero sa atin lang dalawa ito ha? alang dapat makaalam na iba k???

ketsup, kalamansi/lemon, paminta durog, asin, toyo, binayong bawang at ang pinakasikret na sangkap ay "3 heaping teaspoon of PLANKTON" (for those who watch Spongebob can relate)... kidding aside SPRITE/7-UP ang nilalagay ko... adjust to your taste... it should be matamis na medyo maasim... marinate mo ng at least 6 hours and tsadaaa.... yummy bbq...

may sikret rin sa pag-iihaw... gusto mo malaman? sa susunod na kabanata po...

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresNOA1/NOA2 spreadsheet tracking
QUOTE (Delicia @ Mar 26 2008, 11:18 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Not to begrudge Eresh's thread tracking NOA-1 to NOA-2 timelines (s/he did a great job), but I thought it appropriate to start a new thread.

I began tracking just NOA-1s after USCIS stopped issuing NOA-1s for I-130s in late 2007. The tracking spreadsheet has evolved as USCIS has evolved and I added the NOA-2 dates for I-130 only filers as well as breaking out separate sheets between VSC and CSC and averaging the days between filing and NOA-1 receipts, NOA-2 dates and dates from filing to NOA-2s. You can find separate listings for Vermont and California right under the header.

I update the sheet every few days based on VJ time lines of CR-1/IR-1 filers. I do exclude time lines that appear to be either erroneous or DCF to try to keep the information as accurate as possible. But, it can only be as accurate as the information entered in the VJ time lines. Please make sure your information is correct and keep in mind, only California and Vermont process this type of petition.

You can find the spreadsheet here.

timeline.gif

add my timeline please... this petition is for my parents...

08/27/2008 - Send I130 to Chicago LockBox
09/01/2008 - NOA1 from Vermont SC
09/09/2008 - Check cashed
09/11/2008 - Touched
12/22/2008 - Case transfered to California SC
12/23/2008 - Touched

tnx!
