Basically this means that you need to pay the visa fee at citybank in advance. This is done in their native country (Brazil in this case.)

My fiancee needs to pay at DHL in Bolivia.

You should get a reciept. I know they have a citibank in Bolivia so I am guessing they have one in Brazil too.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresVisa fees: When are they due?
Thanks Inky!

Your timeline looks similar to what I am trying to do. It sounds like the fees are staggered enough we can work it out. I was just hoping they would not all hit at the same time and then I need to be the 700$ plane ticket.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresVisa fees: When are they due?
I tried to look this up here but to no avail. When do I have to pay the fees

The one I am most concerned with is for filing Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status.

Is this done when the fiancee is in the USA? Can she work before or only after this is done?

I am also seeing a lot of fees for waive-able forms. I am needing her to work to cover the losses to some of the prices of these fees after she arrives and is eligible.

I guess some sort of timeline on due dates and whether the fees have to be paid in what order and from where would be extremely helpful.

If I am not mistaken she comes after the K1 is approved but cannot work until we file the adjustment of status. We want to try to give ourselves as much time while she is here before getting married and wait the 90 days. Will this affect her ability to work? Should we jump in and tie the knot the same day she arrives so she can work and we can stay afloat?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHow much English is required for the visa?
All our MSN messenger logs are in Spanish and include me trying to teach her English.

I write in English then in Spanish.
Escribo en ingles y despues en espanol.

Just like this.
Igual que este.

I will say may Spanish was terrible when we first met. Being around her made me have to work on it and get better.
I have photos of us together kissing in La Paz. We never met through a dating service. She was best friends with my first Bolivian girlfriend. Things didn't work out with the first girl and Anahi was there for me. She is more like a best friend than a girlfriend. Things came slow so there was no sparking fire, but there is a level of comfort and the love I have for her is growing more and more. I would rather spend the rest of my life with my best friend rather than someone who wastes all of our energy in a quick burst of passion like the first girl.

I am actually a bit concerned we may seem too genuine. We have all the right things, photos and logs. This and the genuine love for each other that is stronger than even the relationship itself.

The only other threat to us is she applied for a visitor visa and we stated we were friends. We were thinking about separating to protect ourselves in case things go wrong. I wanted her to come here to see if she liked it, and she liked who I am, here where the stress is a bit more extreme. I am trying not to push her into the marriage. I feel confident that this is where we will end up, but I am trying to let her know that I am giving her choices and freedoms that are not common among the men of La Paz. She got denied for this visitor visa. The shock to us made me go into a state where a few days where I questioned whether it is all worth it. I came out the other side remembering our friendship. We are now closer than before and have survived when most of my prior relationships have failed. It took the strong friendship to pull us through. She likes that I provide her the freedom and respect she needs to be happy.

This is great news!

NO english requirements... the interview can be conducted in the "official" language of the country.

My fiancee speaks primarily Spanish. I speak Spanish myself and we communicate very well.
What is her level of English she will need. She has a desire to learn English but I can teach her when she is here, as this is what I do in my volunteer job here in the United States.

I love this girl. I am buying English classes for her for this but am going to send in my i-129 next week and she is still working out the basics. I know the classes she is taking are intensive enough for her to pick up on some of it, but how well does she need to speak it? Are there guidelines or a test? She will be able to tell them about her love for me, but may have trouble talking about the past in English, like how we first met.

I have seen many brides come with nothing from many different countries.

If you are a husband or wife who is or was the alien fiancee, then it would be nice to hear your story. Is there a test for this? There is so little information considering that it can cost you over a thousand dollars just to have to start it all over again.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFotocopias/ photocopies

The company of DHL had things locked into customs for over 2 months while I was visiting. I ended the experience with paying 300% of the original costs in different tariffs and spending over 200 man hours returning to the airport DHL service to deal with this. At the end DHL made no attempt to repay any of this.

In the end I am 800$ out for a much needed specialty item That I can buy here for 200$. I blame Bolivian customs but blame DHL for not telling me exactly what it would take to get the package. I would almost rather pay for anyone else than go back to dealing with them. They did not attempt to contact me and let me know my package was locked in customs in the first place. I beleive fed ex might at least tell me things are screwed up.

The tariff was so high because it was locked in customs for 2 months, which is when I begun the process. Then the other 2 months of me coming to the airport 3 days a week for 2 months were added on.

Can I have photocopies made of the letter of intent from my fiancee in Bolivia?

She has the original of hers and I am sending in my original to USCIS.
As long as we can provide the originals for the interview, will we need to have them for the original I-129 packet?

What are the instances where photocopies won't work from the original sending of the I-129 to USCIS.

I am crossing my fingers and hoping to not need to rely on Bolivian mail (especially DHL,) more times than I have to.
