Hello! First of all I have to say your baby look sooo cute! The military line 1-877-247-4645 ... this phone number is for Members of the U.S. military and their families stationed around the world... AS I said we request expedite because my SO is deployed in Iraq...they didn't tell us what are the proofs we will need to send them but reading around VJ I know we will have to fax them a cover letter explaining the situation and his deployment orders...

Well, we asked for military expedite on the 7th of October and they said they were going to send us an email in 7/10 business days but we didn't hear anything yet...we called them back yesterday and the lady told us they already pushed the request foward and now we can just wait....Touches...they could mean anything or everything..they could just looked at your case or move it from one shelf to a other... We also got a touch the day after we filed for the expedite and I tought they probably just went trought our paperwork....who knows...anyways I think in a you could call back by the end of next week?!?

I sent the fax a little while back (mid October) as well as sent a copy of my documents by post. I haven't heard anything yet and since my petition is nearing approval hopefully, (First part of Dec.) I'm not going to pursue this expedite. It's turned into more headache than it's worth to shave a month off my processing. I'm guessing they haven't looked into it because I don't have a copy of the letter to initiate the request, but so far as I know it was never put out to me (email, post, etc.) and I mentioned that in my cover letter I sent, even though my evidence was more than adequate.

What do you mean for "a copy of the letter to initiate the request" ? Maybe they know that you're near to be approved soon anyways so they don't think the expedite will speed it up a lot? You didn't have a touched since then neither?
Oh btw the fax worked tonight...I sent it like 10 minutes ago....at this point I really think they turn it off during the hours they are closed!

I'm faxing it from Italy...I'm the beneficiary and my fiance asked me to fax them for him since at his base in Iraq they don't have fax machines...it basicly sounds like free but the fax doesn't go and it the end the line just get disconected..I even tought that maybe their fax machine is off because we usually don't have any problems to fax documents from my office to any number around the world...I even tought to call USCIS myself but i don't know if I can since I'm just the beneficiary!

I just called it and it indicated "busy"....

So maybe they are having problems with the line...cuz it doesn't sound possible to me that they disactivate international fax service...Thank you for trying Payxibka!!!

Mood, doesn't want to bring me down over the holidays. Ok, because I'm so much happier spending them without my family.

When confronted her with the concept of spending the holidays without our child, she freaked out and said "No way!" But isn't that essentially what she is making me do? So angry and frusterated, I'm about to call the whole thing off! I love her, she says she loves me but actions are speaking louder. I would do anything for my child but going into a ( potentially ) bad marriage is not something I am willing to do. I do know that she worries about leaving her country and family, going somewhere new. But she is coming here to be with me so we can raise our child together. ( Prescott, AZ ) Is a very nice place and I have a great house ( 4 bed/ 3 bath ) and job ( almost $100K/yr ). 1 month is not going to make a huge difference in a lifetime, but spending the first Christmas without my child is crushing. As hopefully what comes through in this rant is that I do care and want to do what is best for us and our child. I have been treated like an outsider the whole time and am tired of it, I've done just about everything I can for her and her family. I could have bailed anytime but have chosen to stick it out and do what I feel is right. While I could put my foot down and make things happen, I am wanting her to figure this out herself. I don't understand the dynamics of filipinas fully and have always been frusterated by her lack of ability to explain herself and what she is feeling ( shy and quiet ). If there is anyone out there who can clarify/translate? I appreciate all responses, good and bad.

I see three options.
1) Use the K-1 Bring her here and marry her. Big risk with potential for big downfall.
2) Stall and hope things get better. We have 6 months before she has to come here. Once I miss Christmas, I don't care. I've waited a year for this and now with the wind taken out of me, I don't care if I wait another year.
3) Drop the K-1, don't get married. Look to get a tourist visa. Bring her here for a few months so she can see what it is like and if this is what she really wants. If we decide it is, re-apply for the k-1...and start over.
4) Bail on the whole concept, start negotiating what she needs for monthly maintenance. My child has dual citizenship so I can visit and someday they will be able to fly here for visits. I have no doubt someday my child will want to come here and live with dad.

And no, there is no #5. Bail and forget about her and our child. I want to be part of my kid life.

If you want to tell me to run, fine. And you can say what you want about me. But don't be rude or mean toward my fiance, I do care and will continue to support her and my child regardless. I'm open to suggestions and options, I've only put down what I can see. Maybe someone out there has a better solution?

I think she see Xmas as the last chance to see her family for a long time...I know its hard but trust me its better if she will join u after the holidays...at least she won't be sad and mad at u for not letting her spant her Xmas the way she wanted to...

I don't know if this is somthing you can try or not but I made a research on yahoo! using the fax number for expedite application and I found this other web site that says this about CSC:
" In an extreme emergency, the following phone numbers are provided for assistance Monday through
Friday from 9:00am – 2:00pm: 949/389-3007; 949/389-3252"

I too have seen almost every known request for a military deployment expedite here on VJ be approved.

I'm curious if you were actually denied after trying of if you are just going by what your lawyer told you.

Forgive me for sounding harsh, but as an honorable member of military law enforcement I must state my opinion that asking for a military expedite is an abuse of authority. A lot of government agencies will grant almost any request written on Command letterhead but that does not mean it's morally correct.

I stand by my original assessment that there is no legit reason to expedite for a deployment unless the entire process is aimed at completion prior to the commencement of the deployment so your new dependents can claim benefits. Otherwise you're just cutting in line.

USCIS knows of my deployment status and again there is no expedite. I did not ask for one and do not want one if it means cheating the system.

we only did what we had a legitimated right to do. If you do not think that is appropriate for your situation, that depends on each individual's personal decisions. If you feel like asking for expedite for a case where a military is involved, that is your personal judgement that does not give you the right to offend what we have done or to judge if our action is either moral or not. There is no expedited military service, it does not matter if you're deploying, and the NOA2 will not be fast. All of that is just an urban legend. I'm still waiting for NOA2 just like all of the other August filers.

I'm in the U.S. military forward deployed to the Middle East currently in the K-1 process. USCIS has my deployment letter and they really don't care. The only reason they even need to know is because i'll likely be exempt from certain requirements (like showing up to the embassy appointment.) If you're deployed there is no reason to expedite anyways because you can't get married when you're in the sandbox. Just wait like everyone else.

My case is being handled by a fairly decent immigration attorney who corroborated this information.

This is not right. We sent expedite fax on Nov 11 and got approved on Nov 12 because my fiance is deployed.

You got lucky, don't expect others to get the same. Expediting a deployed member's petition makes absolutely no sense other than trying to solicit a favor because of one's position.

You may wanna search around these forums cuz u'll see its happened quite often! Btw I know we got lucky I hope you are as lucky as we are!

Yup. There is an unwritten rule about expediting cases of military personnel. All he has to do is request for an expedite form.

This is dead wrong and supremely misleading.

There IS a rule. It IS written but it applies to armed forces who have orders to deploy overseas. It also applies to the USCIS side, though if expedite is granted, it can be pushed through all the way to the Consulate.

If no deployment is imminent, there is no expediting of a case because one is active duty Military.

I totally agreed with Pushbrk...the fact that somebody is in the Military doesn't mean anything unless u are about to deploy or already deployed.

Well we just got our expedite approved...we sent a fax with this documents: Cover letter, letter explaining the situation, letter from his CPT detaling his deployment (if u have them, deployment orders are fine), copy of his military I.D....and we got approved the day after...I gotta say we are CSC fillers thou so we were able to apply expedite just sending them the fax ( we called them but they never got back to us)....for VSC fillers u have to call military line first and wait for their email no matter what cuz they don't have expedite fax line anymore....Good Luck to u!

Thank you very much Laura+Tom...what happened is that we called USCIS regoular number because we didn't get our NOA1 hard copy so he called and asked our case number...after that he asked to expedite our case and they passed him the military line...he said the guys just asked him what the reason were and than he told him that the process was going to be expedite, just to wait to hear from them in 7/10 business day and keep our paperwork handy...oh well, we have them handy...hehe! Only thing that make me wonder is that they didn't gave us a other number to track our expedite request so I don't know...But we have hope!

Not sure about that. My fiance is active military but because he is not on deployment (even though he is in the middle east) he is not eligable for an expedite.

For what I know they need to be on deployment orders to be expedited...and even in that case its not 100% sure they will accept the request. They told us they were going to send us an email in 7/10 business days and its almost 3 weeks we request it but we didn't get anything yet so it makes me wonder whats going on and if it is so true that they give military expedite so easily.

We requested for expedite as well since my SO is in Iraq but they didn't get back to us yet...so we will just try to send a fax this time and cross our fingers...my feeling is that VSC grants for military expedite faster and easier than CSC...of course we're at CSC...

After a week of signing up with the USCIS to check online for the status of my application I forgot my password. The system asked for my email to send me the correct password. I gave my email, but didn't receive any email. I thought I mistyped my email so I did it again, and never got any email from them.
Could it be a problem with their email system?

I really think so cuz i read just tonight about a other person that didn't received their emails even if they said they sent it to him!

Yes u can request expedite process for K1 Visa...we did because my fiance is military and currently deployed in Iraq.. I don't think teh premium process is for any family immigration Visa but I could be wrong about it! Hopefully some other memebers can help u about it! =))

I don't know if this is something you can try or not but I made a research on yahoo! and I found this other web site that says this about CSC:
" In an extreme emergency, the following phone numbers are provided for assistance Monday through
Friday from 9:00am – 2:00pm: 949/389-3007; 949/389-3252"
Still they talk about extreme emergency so I don't know if it will work or if they even answer you...but try I hope somebody will get back to you! Food luck!!!

What we did was to send copy of my fiance certificated divorce decree with the petition and I took the original certificated copy at the interview. The lady asked to see it even if they already haad the copy of it since CSC fowarded to the the whole I129F package we submitted. So I think that at the interview stage its better if your fiancee will take the original certificated copy with her.

No touches or updates since NOA1

Tourist visa

For personal experience (I was denied a Tourism Visa) I can tell you that as long as she doesn't lie on the Forms or to the Consular, a denied Tourism Visa is not a problem for K1 Visa. They didn't even mention it during my interview! Good Luck!
