I am trying to obtain a police record for my fiance, who had a visa for there for 9 months (only stayed one month, but doesn't have an exit stamp). Anyone have a website or can translate a website! It would be soooo helpful!

New girls on the brand name clothes...
They're fake.
The brand names that are available in Kosovo and Albania all come from Turkey. My husband's uncles own a few "Dolce and Gabanna" as well as "Armani" shops in Kosovo. They told me about how in Istanbul and other cities are Turkey it is full of foriegners from Eastern countries buying fake goods to take back to their countries.

My husband doesn't expect dinner for the most part, but considering that he works construction, he is more exhausted than me managing and doing office work for the day.

He doesn't like me sweep. He gets frustrated at my cleaning skills. I don't think that they're up to par with his, so most of the time we end up fighting about how I supposedly don't know how to sweep or clean.... but he finishes it so ... :-)

I love how he thinks he can fix anything, and is perplexed by how little I see my family and how small it is.

They have big beautiful families that kiss and pinch you all the time right? In Kosovo I felt like a Princess.

Here's the the Macedonian Consulate sent me, also with answers to a couple other questions. Thought you might want to check it out:

"Your fiancé must bring both a police certificate and a court certificate from Kosovo. (maybe from home country). If he has lived in another foreign country for more than 1 year after his 16th birthday, he must provide us with a police certificate (court cert. not needed unless he was convicted) of respective country. I said I didn't make enough money to be the supporter, but did I need need to bring in the originals, or would copies of my bank account suffice. Apparently not. For the Affidavit of Support, we need both yours with supporting tax documents (even if income is not enough) and an AoS of the joint sponsor with supporting documents (tax statements). If you as the petitioner have not filed taxes, then you must supply us with a written and signed statement explaining why you did not file. When asked about high school transcripts and if they would be required : As for the school information, it is just necessary to know about consecutive attendance. No other documentation is required, unless at the time of application the consular officer would deem it necessary for one reason or the other."

I don't know if this is applicable at all embassys, but I figure it'll give you a good heads up.

Hey I just sent an email to an different embassy, skopje, macedonia, and got this : "Police certificates for residents of Kosovo should be obtained from UNMIK at Alpha Camp in Kosovo Polje. Besides this document, your fiancé will still need to obtain a court certificate from the nearest court. " I wrote a follow up email if this is required from other countries where he resides as well, and I am still waiting to hear back. I'll let you know when I hear anything else.

I just spoke with the courts here in Florence, Italy over the phone and they said that I have to translate it myself, then bring it to them and have it notarized, that do they not do court certified translations.
Will this be acceptable?

He's from Kosovo, we're in Italy right now, where we need the "OFFICIAL" translation. Could I get my English speaking boss to write on a letterhead that it's "certified" and we go to the American consulate and get it notarized? Oh I'm so confused, and way stressing! HELP!

I wrote an email to my fiance's embassy asking if I could do the translations myself, and then have it notarized (for his police certificate). They said that there must be a notartized copy from a CERTIFIED COURT TRANSLATOR. Are they just bullshitting me, or are they serious? How can I get around this? I'm out of the country, and won't be back in the states for 2 more months, we're waiting his visa now?

We received both package 3 and 4 in the mail here in Kosovo, where we are both staying for the next month and a half. Our interview date is for 9-11, but it's weird that the embassy would be conducting buisness on that day, I hope it wasn't a screw up and we show up and they're closed for holiday.

I think it's very important for an American fiance who hasn't visited the family of their fiance to do so, esspecially if your fiance doesn't speak English. It will be an eye-opening experience, as my fiance doesn't speak much english, I don't speak much of his language, we speak in a third language together. It will be an odd experience for you, but it will help you understand how isolating it can be for you fiance when they come. This has been great for me to understand how I need to include him in conversations, even if he can't understand.

I am so excited about our interview date, we have almost everything in order, just waiting on the police report for the United Nations and his Medical! Other than that, we have everything, including a ride lined up to Macedonia.

Good Luck to any other April Filers who are still waiting Packet 3 and 4!

I have no idea about Nigerian embassy, but I asked my embassy, well, the one where my fiance will go, if I could attend.
They said yes, but the Officer may at some point, ask me to leave if he deems necessary when asking questions.

This forum has been a tremendous help during this whole process, I am very new here so please pardon me and all critics welcome

My Fiancee K1 Visa interview is scheduled in August, @ the Nigerian embassy
it would be hassle free to attend interview but just want to know - which is better, if she goes alone
and slug it out or if I go with her. I hope I would not introduce complications as I have seen in other posts

Would I (petitioner) be allowed to go in with her to the interview window?

Would the questions be targeted to both of us or only beneficiary since we are together?

Is there a possibility we might get seperated in different rooms and cross questioned?

I would welcome all suggestions, just want to know which is better, to allow her go to the embassy alone
or to accompany her.

The June St. Louis ceremony was great. They had us arrive an hour and a half before the actually ceremony, however, the guests were pretty frustrated that they weren't told that. The judges were great and had everyone go around the room and state their name, where they were from, and why they came or something short. There was a speaker of honor who spoke for about 5 minutes and then they handed out the certificates.

Most people left as soon as they received the certificates and decided not to hang around for the rest of the names to be called or shake hands with the judge. Overall, it was a great experience. I'll have to agree, yes, we only had the certificate for an hour or so before it was sent off for a passport. Congratulations to everyone who has completed the process and best of luck to those beginning!

Oh, and by the way for any future readers. We had our ceremony June 3, and we are still showing up online in the "testing and interview" stage. :-)

My husband passed his citizenship test. Only 6 questions were needed. We waiting 15 minutes for his name to be called. The woman was very friendly, even asked if my name was "Liz" and mentioned some personal letters that were included in our support evidence. She definitely was paying attention, and was very happy to be doing her job, it seemed.

They asked:
Who is the president of the United States?
Who is the speaker of the house?
Name two national US Holidays?
When was independence day adopted?
What were the first 10 amendments?
First three words of the constitution question...

Writing:
Thanksgiving is in November

Read:
What did Abraham Lincoln do?

The interview took about 20 minutes and he received a saying he was recommendation for citizenship and we will wait for the date of the oath ceremony!

They received my I-129f on March 21, 2007. Notice date was March 28, 2007 and I think I was touched on April 4, 2007.

No touches since then.............. :(

We got our CRIS email today stated that they approved our I-129F petition and have sent the NOA2 in the mail!

FINALLY GOT A REAL TOUCH TODAY. My previous touches were due to phone calls. Now I have a real one. Even though it's just been one, I still want to call and see if there is an RFE, but then I won't know if tomorrow I get a real touch or not. I hate waiting.

waiting anxiously. Does anyone know...I am currently out of the country, my family is watching the mail, I'm watching the internet. I don't plan on going home until October. Do we have to go on any interview or is it just our fiance until then? I'm worried that being over here so long, I may not be able to do everything. Everything will be mailed/faxed to me ASAP, but in August I am going to Kosovo with my fiance and will have limited access. Hopefully everything will be taken care of, but I don't need to go back to the US for any interviews do I?

It's been two weeks since we've been approved, and the NVC still doesn't have our info. Can we call the USCIS to verify that it's even been sent? Any special tricks to speed this one up? I will in my in my fiance's country in 2 weeks, and want to be there for his interview.

Does anyone think that we could possibly have our interview before 28 September (I leave his country)? I would really like to be there for him, and to celebrate together, etc.

Yeah, I called yesterday, it'd been 9 days, and they said nothing. Is there a number to call to see if it was even sent? The guy on the phone said it normally takes 9 days to 2 weeks for it to get there.

Your NOA2 Aapproval date is same as mine. I called the NVC on 7/25/07 to check. NVE did not receive the package. Just waiting.

I called NVC yesterday, after week since my I-129F approval, just to see if it had arrived there, and they said no, it normally takes 2-4 weeks. 2 weeks probably, 4 weeks, I'm not so sure of. That sounds a bit excessive. I also asked if anything needs to be sent to them (on their website it says that you must send the DS 230 Part 1 to them, but my consulate's webpage says it must be faxed to the consulate). He said that nothing needs to be sent to them if it is for a K1 visa. We just wait until they send it along... I wonder how long this could take?

HEY! I'm an April Filer, I will update my timeline later, don't have time know, but thought I would give a little hope to everyone!
We had our interview on September 11th, and we have the visa! It was a success!

NOA2 CRIS Email!
We got our CRIS email today stated they put our NOA2 in the mail. How soon can I expect it and how soon can I expect NVC
to have it? Does anyone know the approximate wait time for the name check? Just so I know how it goes next, can anyone double check this so it looks like I understand it correctly.

1.wait for NOA2 in mail
2. NOA2 goes to NVC
3. FBI name check
4. NOA2 sends petition to embassy
5. Embassy sends pack to fiance
6. Fiance gets everything and then sends it back to Embassy
7. Embassy sends letter with appointment date
8. Appointment

Right?

OOOO. Now what do I do? The only thing I need to do send to him is the affidavit of support right, and supporting evidence of being together? What else? I'll be there with him at the interview, but what should I get together now?
