IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNew I-864 version
Hi everyone, I'm new here but have had the same problem with my I 864. I sent in the new form and it was received by the NVC on April 29th. I received a false RFE on June 6th saying that they reviewed the DS 230 but the I 864 was missing. I called that day and was told that the new forms were starting to be reviewed so I was happy about that. Today I called and was told that mine still has not been reviewed. I figured that it would have been one of the first to be reviewed since others who sent it in later have gotten good news. I am six months pregnant so this is incredibly stressful for me. I need my husband with me especially for the birth of our first child. Anybody else use the new form and send it back in April?

Congrats to all those with completed cases. Hope you're all reunited with your loved ones soon.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresChild born after case closed but before interview.
Thank you all for your responses. Well my case was completed on July 18th and I received the email notification on the 25th. I doubt I will have my baby's birth certificate in time to send to my husband but I have been emailing him all my ultrasound pics. I believe I will prepare a new I 864 with the updated info, Thanks.

Would my husband have to prepare a new DS 230 with the updated child info? If so, wouldn't he need to present the birth cirtificate? Thanks to all of you for all your help!

P.S.: I've been trying to create my timeline but it keeps telling me it can't tell if I'm a member so I should add my member number. Where can I find my member number?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresChild born after case closed but before interview.
Hi everyone, I am the USC petitioner for a CR1 visa and I am pregnant. My husband is in Nicaragua and I am in the US waiting on the birth of our first child. I just received an email from the NVC that our case is complete. We were hoping that my husband would be here with me before my daughter is born but by the looks of it, the interview will probably be scheduled after the birth. My question is, if our baby is born before my husband's interview, will there be a problem since the DS 230 states that we do not have children? I don't even know if we would have her birth certificate in time to show to the officer at the embassy. Do we have to contact anyone about this? Should my husband mention the baby's birth at his interview? Please help. Thanks

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHelp with I-134 form...

It doesn't matter what the relationship is. People often have friends or family who help out. You can put future sister in law if you want.

omg, you are my savior! hahaha. that site I will bombard them with questions! thanks so much.

You will always need a sponsor. Whether it is through the I-134 or the I-864 it depends on the consulate, essentially they are the same thing. The petitioner is always the main sponsor, regardless of income. Any citizen or US resident can be a co sponsor, they just need the proper forms and enough income.

thank you for the reply! i should contact the embassy to figure out which one they accept. i do not have any income and neither does my fiance. i figure this will be a problem. as a co-sponsor my sister would have to report her relationship to my fiance as merely a friend or is there a way around this?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHelp with I-134 form...
hello, i am an american citizen living in japan for the past 5 years. my fiance is a japanese citizen and we both hope to go back to the states within this year.

we are currently waiting for the 1-129f petition to be processed (sent out on 7/05/2012). in preparation for our next step, i have been looking at k1 process sites, and begun preparing the paperwork for the next stage in the process. included in many sites is the proof of financial support of the non citizen. my soon to be husband doesnt have an income and neither do i. i hope to have my sister who is financially secure back in the states, to be his sponsor, however in the i-134, under the relationship to sponsor bracket, filling it in with "friend" does not seem very effective.

in some sites ive read, some state that an i-134 is unnecessary. can anyone help me figure this one out? would appreciate it a bunch!!
