PhilippinesAnybody know why a NBI Clearance would take 2 weeks

was this her first time to get an NBI clearance? If so, it is pretty normal. Mhay's nanay applied the same day that she did...Mhay got hers (she had NBI clearance a couple of times) and Nanay didnt..she had to go back today to get it. Of course there seemed to be someone else using her name for bad, so she had extra steps...but A LOT of people were being told to come back in 2 weeks when we went to get Mhay's NBI.

Yes this is her first time get needed a NBI. I told her that she should not worry, buy any delay at this point makes her worry.

Thanks everyone

PhilippinesAnybody know why a NBI Clearance would take 2 weeks
My wife said when she went to get her NBI today they told her to come back in 2 weeks. Any body ever heard of this? She said the problem she could think of would be a old cell phone bill. Would that show up on a NBI report. She does have a name that is common in th Philippines.

PhilippinesWife approved but
Received the RFE today for my daughter. They want a copy of the birth certificate, which I sent with the original application  The RFE says that both parents name should be on the birth certificate but it says unknown for the farther. So I am writing a letter explaining that if the parents are unmarried, and the farther does not take responsibility for the child they put unknown for his name.

######!!! I AM REALLY SORRY TO HEAR THAT!!!!! I hope it is something simple !!!!

That is my plan to clear up the RFE, then submit information for both to NVC at the same time

PhilippinesWife approved but
I received an e-mail last night that my wife's I 130 was approved  but I did not receive a email for my daughter's I 130. :( When I went to the uscis site it says that her case was updated yesterday also. Is it possible it is approved but the system is not updated? Also is it possible that her I 130 could be approved much later.

PhilippinesQuestion about the AOS & IV
We received a RFE on our daughters I 130 so we waited until I had the bill for both to pay for the AOS. After I paid for my wife I received a reciept that said that the AOS requirement was met for our daughter. I did not relaize that the receipt said that until I tried to pay our daughter's AOS bill. the system would not allow me to pay her invoice. I would like to know if anyone else has experinced this? Also does it work the same way on the IV bill? ( I shouhld be so lucky)

Thanks

PhilippinesCan't read the birth certificate

Is that the any local civil registrar? Or his/her place of birth?

Yes they have a local registrar and her home town is not that far. She went to NSO today they told her to get a copy from the local registrar and bring it in.

So the BC is on the special NSO security paper? I know our marriage certificate is a little hard to read, but you can still make everything out.

PhilippinesCan't read the birth certificate
My wife sent me her birth certificate with the NSO stamp. I can't read it at all. All the words are blurred  Why would they even give this to someone :bonk: I understand screw ups are very common at NSO. I would like to know if my wife has the original from the city where she was born, and we get a statement from NSO saying that this is the best copy (it says that on the document) will that be acceptable? Does anyone have experience with this?

Wow indeed! She is looking at venues again this week...right now we have it tentatively planned for the Eagles View Hotel (Ceremony) and the CAP Auditorium (reception)...I might have that all reversed...so much going on right now :)

How did you like the Golden Palace?
[/

The services at the Golden Palace was excellent. I could go on and on about how great it was. They provided everything except my suit. What I liked most was I paid 1 price for everything. We had our wedding and reception both in the same hall.

Philippinesvalid id for interview?

It's initially available in Metro Manila only. Maybe later on it will be made available for the provincial offices.

Thanks!

Does anyone know what to do for ID for a child. She is 6
feshusbandMalePhilippines2010-05-27 05:56:00
Philippinesvalid id for interview?

The Appointment Letter is not ID. The Embassy requires photo ID for anyone to enter, thus the need for her NBI clearance or ID Card.

My wife went to the NBI office and was told they don't issue a ID card. Is this card only issued in Manila or the larger cities

PhilippinesShould We Reshedule?
I operate a business and I have just found out that I need to be here the day of my wife's interview. Does it make a great deal of difference in interview if the husband is there? I have not been in the Philippines in over a year and i wonder if that will be a red flag. All our pictures together would be from that trip. If I reschedule how far back will they move the appointment?

PhilippinesWife's 8/4/ 2010 Interview
Arrived at embassy at 5:30 am they allowed her in at 6:00 am. She had her appointment letter and used her NBI as ID.

By the way there was a service there that allows her to leave her cell phone for $150p.

Not sure of the times but process progressed as follows:

Went inside and received a number, when number was called she was finger printed and returned to her seat.

After about 20 min she was called for pre screening ( she called it Philippine interview) the inverviewer who was a Filipina had her sign the her ds 230 and asked;

What is your name?
Name of your petitioner?
What does he do for work?
Where does he live in the US?
How did you meet?
When did you last see him in person?

She ask for phone records, chat logs, western union receipts, and photos.
All this took about a 15 min.

Returned to her seat to wait her name to be called. Wait maybe 45 min and her name was called for the interview.
The CO was a woman who was very friendly she asked same questions as pre screener:

What is your name?
Name of your petitioner?
What does he do for work?
Where does he live in the US?
How did you meet?
When did you last see him in person?

Looked at the pictures then said the magic words "your visa is approved"
Entire interview was less than 5 min.

Then waited for what seemed like a long time. Her name was called she was given back her photos and a pink slip with her tracking number.

Called me to give me the news at 10:10 a.m.
