HKG IV concerned with petitioner's income, not the visa applicant.

I don't think being unemployed in HK will be an issue as long as you will not become a public charge when you get to the
US. They will look more on your Fiance's income.

Paul, many thanks for your input! :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAbout Alien Fiancee's employment regarding K1 visa petition
Dear all,

My bf and I are studying/collecting information about K1 visa petition. I can really feel that VJ is a very useful platform to learn tips and share experiences, making our lives easier!

I have some questions. If I, as a foreign fiancee, happens to be unemployed during the K1 petition process and also the time being intervieweed by the Consulate of my home country (Hong Kong), will my "unemployed" status decrease the chance of getting K1 visa? Actually, I had over 10-year working experience but I quitted my job in Sep last year and flew to the US to spend time with my bf for 6 months on travel visa. I returned to Hong Kong in Mar this year and currently looking for a job to earn some money. I worry what would happen on the visa petition if i am not lucky enough to get a job? Or, the US Consulate/USCIS concerns more about my bf (US citizen)'s financial background?

I feel like I am giving myself a lot of pressure suddenly....

Helen

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1 visa Qs - all other names used, native alphabet?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1 visa Qs - all other names used, native alphabet?
Dear all,

I have two questions regarding the I-129F form and G325a form and highly appreciate your advice, thanks!

1. Regarding "Other names used" / "All other names used" on both forms, I am a Chinese from Hong Kong(alien fiancee). My passport/ID card has my name in Chinese characters and pinyin of my chinese name. I do have an English name "Helen" BUT it is not a legal name (i.e. it doesn't appear on my passport/ID). But my friends and my colleagues called me Helen, and my business card shows "Helen Shek". So, what should i put in this session? Option 1, 2 or 3 below?

Option 1. Helen Shek
Option 2. Helen Shek (nickname)
Option 3. N/A

2. Q16 of I-129F form about native alphabet - does it mean that it needs my name and address in Chinese characters? If so, for Chinese name, we normally have the surname come first, followed by given name. This is opposite to westerner's which has given name come first, followed by surname. so, should i write my name in Chinese characters as usual, i.e with surname come first and then given name?

Sorry for my stupid questions but I really want to avoid mistakes on the forms. Appreciate your help! thanks!
