K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsK-1 NOA2
Just today I called the US number to find out where things where after having all our stuff at the consulate for a month.

They told me you have an appointment for the 17th of NOv. Well it would be nice if they told us. That way we would show up. Only cost $16 to get that.

Plus we called to pay the fees and that was a nightmare. Once they requested information they did not need. Then they said they needed the card member of the credit card to be on the phone. Then when his sister was there they said the machine for processing credit cards was down.. Come back tomorrow. All that mess ran 65 pounds. It has been something else and you cannot contact them directly so sitting and waiting is not a good idea and it will cost you no matter how you go.

Shellie

I had an inquiry made the other day through my congressional office, to see if and when my 129f might be looked at since you cant really get any type of update until you actually get something in the mail. They said the uscis Vermont is currently on March applications, so on occasion when you see ones processed after your date, they claim its from diverting people on to them when they are caught up on other immigration forms, they also said K1 is not a priority when they handle all these forms.

I still don't understand how other applications move ahead, it seems as if they just grab them from a pile hehehe. Anyway, hang in there as the other post said after 6 months you can get an update, but hope and pray for a little luck that it happens sooner, as for our noa1 it was received June 23 so by December 23 it will be 6 months, 2 more months ( but hoping for much less) anyway I am going to PI for Christmas cause that's where we belong (as in together).

we didn't want to spend our money on yet another trip there, but while you can make more money, you cant make more time so we agreed another trip where we can be together Christmas regardless of the NOA2 will go along way to helping us cope with this process. If you have the resources it surely helps with this painfully long process, I know its not practical in so many cases but wish everybody could do it.

Good Luck & Godspeed

In case of an emergency break glass. Get a bucket and some old jelly jars etc.. and crash them into the bucket. Nothing like totally destroying something to get rid of your frustration and it wont cost anything and the sound of crashing glass is awesome.I'm jus saying try it you will see.

Awesome. That helps loads. Thanks.

You pay in local currency in each instance.

So the petitioner pays for the I-129F in USD.
Just keep following the K1 Guide in principle, then when it comes to the UK side, you follow the instructions in the Embassy Info (top of page) it gives you an updated version of what is required at their level.. so you pay GBP for whatever is done in the UK.

You send the I-129F to the lockbox facility in Texas, not a service center.

Right sorry we already did that and have the NOA1. Its at the Vermont Service Center so why I put that. Didn't mean to cause confusion. :o) Shell

Here's a question. You send in your 129F packet to the service center with a check in US dollars to begin the process. Once the NOA2 is received and the process begins at the consulate side the beneficiary must go for a medical exam in their country. IN our case this would be the UK. So is it paid for in Great Britain Pounds or USD? When you process the DS forms at the Consulate in London do you pay for them in USD or GBP? Because the medical is listed in pounds and the forms are listed in USD. Just not sure which to bring and if they will only take cash or travelers checks etc... Thanks Shell

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresKids not accompanying but Consulate lists them
In the process of filing for the K1 we always listed the children of my fiancee. Because it tells you to list them even if they are not coming with you.
We listed that the children would not be coming with him on the consulate forms we checked the will not accompany and will not follow boxes etc...
So why would they list them on the appointment letter? Should we be concerned that they are considering the children. We have their birth certificates and
all of that. However we do not have passports for them as they will not be traveling to the US. Is this typical where they just want to know the details and leave it
at that or are they actually considering them as immigrants?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFiance changing decision
The visa process is deeply personal. Strangers look into your life with a microscope and decide how your future will be. After years of a long distance relationship a person can feel defeated and overwhelmed. Sometimes wondering if this will ever end. There are emotional highs and lows and it takes its toll on the relationship and the individuals taking this journey. It is not for the weak or uncommitted. You must have faith, hope and a strong heart to go through the different stages. This would certainly explain how your fiancee might be feeling and the doubt may come from frustration. We started on this road exactly 2 years ago and this week we wait to see if the visa will be approved or not. Completely out of our control we sit and we wait to find out what will happen next. There are no guarantees and you try to be patient and no worry. Still you go through every piece of the documentation looking for issues or something that you might have missed. Is it clear and easy to understand. Did we do all we could. You second guess and ask people to pray for you and cross everything you got that on that interview day all this will finally end and its just the matter of a plane ride over. If not then we regroup and try to find out what to do next. Our daughter will soon be 5 months old and this is her first Christmas. Sitting and waiting is very stressful and can cause fear, depression and take you on an emotional roller coaster ride you can't seem to get off. Talk to him and see where he is at with things and what the source of his emotions are from. As for the kids if you put them in the petition you have to bring all the docs and follow through. If not and you tell them you will not be bringing them I would think at very least it would call for some amendments of some sort and further delays.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresRFE
First of all I am severely disabled. I have a motor neuron disorder similar to PLS and ALS. We have an infant daughter and when I requested they expedite my petition it was granted within 24 hours. I had my NOA2 before I received word they approved my expedite and just so you know they don't give expedites in most cases. This should give you an idea how severe my disability is and the impact it has on myself and our family. I last saw my fiance in July and before that in Oct. I can't travel with our daughter there is no way. So he came to me. We haven't seen each other in 4months and he is waiting for his papers to reach the Embassy so they can mail out his visa. We are three weeks away from seeing each other and we are struggling with the four months apart. Not that we can't handle it we simply rather be together. To be able to be apart for two years well that for me just would not work. I think it raises some serious questions and your not following the rules. With a medical condition it would seem crucial to sort the documentation as soon as possible in order to have the help he can provide as a family caregiver. Disabled or not the rules are the same and you have to present and jump through those hoops the same as anyone else. You may not be able to travel but he can. I realize that South Africa is not a visa waiver country and prevents him from coming for visits. At the same token it is a high risk fraud country and the fact that your papers were not completed in two years time well it doesn't help your case. You had two years to complete the paperwork and it is very clear you must meet in person within a 2 year period. Either your really good at sabotaging what you want or your not being truthful. Excuses will not get you where you want to be and you will have to start over in order to meet the criteria everyone else is held to. I am sorry if that is not what you want to hear but I won't be doing you any favors encouraging you to hide behind a disability. There are things you could have done way before now. So begin again and this time follow the rules.
