Don't worry about it. The police report is the only original document that you will not get back, so a copy is not necessary. Copies are needed for all the other original documents though so you could get the originals back at the end of the interview.

 

Please everyone, get in the habit of scanning everything you send to NVC. This will make you a) do the task deliberately and without rushing, b) not second guess yourself over what was sent/written, c) review facts as submitted before the interview, d) resubmit documents/info if NVC misplaces them.

 

Another important reminder: Those of you who are sitting on their hands waiting for IV invoice, please, please go over the DS-260 exemplar pdf. Study it thoroughly now and get on preparing all the necessary info to fill it properly. This task could easily take several weeks. You might even discover that you need to add more documents or explanations with your IV package than the minimum required by NVC.

Is it only the NBI that you didn't send a photocopy with NVC? I guess it wouldn't be a problem. I only sent my wife's original NBI as well but I got her personal copy. It's not also indicated in Saylin's wiki that you need to send a photocopy of police clearance/NBI(Philippines).

Yes I was reading on the NVC website where it states that a copy of each original document is also required.

I think you should call up NVC on Monday and confirm. If they ask for you to send in the copy, it'll only be a couple of days apart...so won't be that bad.

I don't know how you guys are handling it, I'm still waiting for IV fee to be posted to be paid.  This process is taking so long its effecting me emotionally in so many ways.  I can't eat or work properly, I miss the wife so much right now, I'm waking up crying in the middle of the night.  I know it sounds funny coming from a guy, but I've never felt like this my entire life up till now.  I try hitting the gym even harder and many other activities but it's just not helping.  :(

I understand how you feel. Yes it is real hard. I try writing down what I'm grateful for, excercising, praying. It affects every area of my life. And my wife does not understand why it is taking so long and at times doubt if I am doing all I can to bring her here. I have never felt so powerless in my life. I try to take it a day at a time and hold on to what hope I have that this will be over soon and we will be together. I have learned to lower my exspectations when it comes to the NVC. I know if you focus on the problem it gets bigger and that I should try hard to stay focused on the solution. Its just sometimes I don't know what the solutions is in this process.I even found myself praying for the people at the NVC lately to keep from getting to mad at them when I talk to an operator and get the "you need to wait for 60days till you call", I'm so tired of hearing that.  I wish you well, just know you are not alone.

I was in a hurry to send it because we sent in the wrong police report when I sent the IV package. Please give me some advice on what to do.

Hey every one, first let me say good luck to everyone. I ask an NVC operator friday when I called in for a progress report if they were making any progress on getting the wait times back to normal and he said that they were. But I don't see any real progress on our spreedsheets.  Anyways I have a question. We sent our IV pkg in ( scanned Aug 13th). However I believe her police record will exspire by the middle of September. I'm hopeing the NVC will let us just bring an updated police record when we finally get an interveiw (hopeing to have interview  by November). Any comments or advice?

Why isn't there a timeline processing for the NVC?

 

Is it unpredictable?

It is very unpredictable. The change the processing times and procedures whenever they want and the operators there are poorly informed and may tell you anything. I have and continue to experience this. I thought that my casew would have been over several months ago by everything I read but I'm still waiting on my case to be completed. Going on six months at the NVC stage. I wish you the best.

Hi VJ members I'd rcvd another checklist regarding passport police certificate. I'd already sent police certificate for my hubby which he had obtained from local police station. Now per the checklist do I really need to send another one from the passport office? I was now waiting to receive an email for case complete but rather rcvd this checklist email. Pls help. Ver upset. I can't afford another 60 days now. Just feel like leave everything and go back to my hubby. All your help will be greatly appreciated.

   I'm sorry to hear about the secound checklist and I don't know what country your Husband is from, but my wife is in the Philippines and we did the same only to find out that the require police records there is not the local one. When you go to the NVC website and look under requireed civil documents here http://travel.state...._documents.html and click police records then click Reciprocity by Country. Look up the country your husband is from and it should specify which records are needed. I hope this helps.

I have been calling NVC every couple of days and they are telling me different stories each time...Sept 4th they processed our ds261 and rep told me it will take 3-5 business days before you can pay IV Fee....yesterday i called and rep told me it wasnt processed and she spoke with her supervisor and now it will take 3-5 business days before i can pay IV Fee....i dont understand why they are doing this....i have been following this forum for a long time and noticing that alot of people who petitioned after us their visa is approved and their spouse are already in us..........make me feel sad how they are handling this so called "overload approved petitions from USCIS" ......if USCIS can approve so many case in short time how come NVC cant even keep track of their own cases. :ranting:  :ranting:  :ranting:

We have been with the NVC for going on six months now, i have been told so much bad information be the operators there. Some of them don't seem to have any compassion for what we are going through and seem to try to get you off the phone as quickly as possible. There has been times I called three different times and told three completely different stories. Believe me it is very frustateing. When I was waiting for my ds-260 to be availible to fill out I was told by three operators just wait over a weeks period. Finally I was told by the fourth operator that I had to resighn my ds-261 since it showed incomplete and immediatley it was availible. That caused another useless week delay. So expect anything.


This is one more rollercoaster ride dealing with the NVC!!!

Ugh. On Monday I called the NVC and they said that my AOS packet was approved on 10/2. Woohoo!

 

So today I got what I thought was a false checklist for my AOS packet, but I called to make sure. Yvette said that it was not a false checklist. It says that I didn't include the proper number in line 19, and that I needed to resubmit I-864EZ with the right number (total income). I looked at my 1040 and my tax transcripts and I did report the correct number (Line 22 on 1040 and "Total Income" on my tax transcripts! She even looked at it and said that the number I was reading was correct. They are wrong!

 

...however, she said a supervisor would need to review it, and that would take 42 days! Are you kidding me???? And then, of course, after the supervisor review, if they still thought I was wrong, I would have to send in another I-864EZ for them to review if I made a mistake.

I don't think i would settle for that. If the mistake is theres they should correct it immediately. I would call and demand to speak to a supervisor to get a review of this.

So very slow on Thursdays and Fridays :(

Yes and it was slow yesterday also. just when you start to feel some hope that things are speeding up it slows down agian. You would think with the new procedures on how they are reviewing packages that we would be seeing more progress. To top things of monday is a holiday so they will not review again till Tuesday. Oh well such is life. Aside of changeing how they are reviewing packages, which just made my wait time longer. I still don't know what they are doing to try to catch up. When you ask all they say is " they are trying very hard to catch up". So frustrating.

If you send it now its not going to prolong anything. The worst case is they ask you on friday to send something extra. I hope for good things to come to you soon.

   For those of us going through stress meaning still at NVC this is for us.   I know I had a nervous breakdown when talking to poor Betsy and I want everyone to know the

warning signs.  This is NOT an easy thing for me to admit, I'm usually a very strong person one people come to when things are bad, never thought in a million years this was possible. :(

 


5 Nervous Breakdown.
  1. crying easily, and seemingly endlessly, at the drop of a hat - whether you're male or female!  No need to be embarrassed.

  3. feeling guilty for all kinds of reasons: 'not pulling your weight', not being there for someone else, not being your 'normal' self, etc

  5. feeling alone - you're embarrassed and don't want to bother with anyone. You don't even recognize yourself.

  7. feeling joyless - increasingly withdrawing from all the things you would normally enjoy - no wonder with all those symptoms!

  9. being/feeling 'paranoid' - feeling that people are out to get you and single you out for every scrap of negativity.

 

It is not surprising that often a nervous or mental breakdown goes hand-in-hand with depression. 

Therefore I'm going to be straight with you: you're not going to get better by staying in bed, miserable and worried!

 

A nervous breakdown really means the point of exhaustion reached after a prolonged period of anxiety. The overwhelming anxiety, depression, and stress leads to a sense of overwhelm, helplessness, and utter exhaustion; a feeling of not being able to deal with life.  depressed.gif

 

   So if anyone feels this way, I think this thread helps  lot also it says to do thing with family and friends if possible.

      I have four of the five, so far not #2, so if you feel any of these they say you need to take action to relive these feelings.  One says to get out of the house which is a great idea if you  can do that.  Walk on the grass barefoot sounds a little ridiculous to me but if it works why not. :)   You don't have to have all of these symptoms to have or be close to a nervous breakdown.   It's a horrible feeling I pray I never have again.

Thanks for the post. I have been on the verge of this for a couple of weeks now. I have an appointment with my Doctor in the morning. The depression and anxiety has been overwhelming. I have been through some tough times in my life but this situation, and the daily stress of being without my wife is hard to handle. They say God will not give you more than you can handle. And I believe it. That doesn't mean you don't need to ask for help when needed.

 I know exactly how you feel and I don't even have words when it comes to NVC I want it wiped out of my mind forever!    You can come and Rant, cry and blow off steam when ever you want this is why this thread was made.  Praying you don't get a checklist for anything at any time. t4582.gif

In the same boat scan dates 8/8 IV and 9/9 checklist. I was hopeing for cc last week then call Wensday and was told the rules for reviewing went into affect that day, they were reviewing 8/8 that day. I have been crushed since then trying to find a light at the end of this tunnel. And my wife just can't understand she's at her wits end. The stress and depression, I pray everyday. I find myself just wanting to block everything out. Best wishes to all. You are not alone.

I need some advice. My wife took her medical early which we thought was smart because she ended up taking the sputum. Two months wait is over and the results were neg but we still don't have case complete and I'm afraid that she will not get an interview and her passport back by the time her medical expires on Dec 25th. Should she go ahead and repeat the medical now (thinking they will make her redo her sputum) or should we wait till we get and interview date. What scares me is I don't know if the exrays shows the same as before are they going to make her take the sputum again. This whole process is dragging me down, I really thought this would be over by now.

Checklist do not apply means?

When I sent in my IV package I got a 60 days till review and when I sent in my AOS checklist response I got an 60 days till review, but since I sent in a piece of mail to them after they will wait until 60 days after the last piece of mail to review all together.

i just spoke to an operator at the NVC who informed me that as of today all packages will be reviewed based on the most recent scan date. I.E I have an IV pkg scan date 8/8 and an AOS checklist correction scan date of 8/15 then I sent in a document that I realized I forgot for my IV on 9/9 so nothing now will be looked at until 9/9. So those 60 day wait to reveiw that I received when I submitted my IV and checklist now do not apply.

Hello
Can somebody help me pleaseeee!
I have seen this question asked so many times the past two days but not answered.
I am still waiting for n answer and decided to send the question again.

I am waiting for a case complete and realized I made a mistake on my AOS i864 form
I got the household size correct, 2 but part 5 of 8 where it asks to add lines 1 to 7 to enter the household size, I put 0. (Even though in checked I am sponsoring the principal immigrant in part 2)
So after ticking 1 for myself and 1 if married and putting 0 in enter the number you entered on line 7 of part 3, i still got a household size of 2. I am very sure I will get a checklist and I am wondering please if anyone can assist me.
Should I send all documents together with updated i864 or just an updated i864?
Is it better to send it now or wait for a checklist n assume since I got the household size right it shouldn't be a problem?

Also part 6 question 13
I did not check it because I included my three most recent tax returns and not just the recent. (Is that right)?
This process is so draining I have had 2 miscarriages already and now I can't travel to even see my husband just because of the fear of banning flights from west Africa. Even though where I come from there is no Ebola (Ivory Coast).
Someone please help me pls.. Thank you!













Its better to go ahead and send the corrections. Don't wait for a checklist if ou know there is something wrong. It will just prolong the case and if you send now you might get lucky and they review everything on your first scan date. Best of luck.

Same here!!! So stressful. Makes me want to break down and cry at times :(

I know what you feel. My last scan date is sept 9th. I sent in my checklist on 8/8. I keep going over and over in my head if I did everything right this time. With the old system I would know already but this new system has set me back even further. I wish the NVC would have some compassion and consideration for those of us who have been with this process so long.

Thats good. My last scann date is Sept 9th I'm hoping not to get another checklist. My mind has been so frazeled lately I keep wondering if I completed my checklist correctly. This whole process has me on pins and needles. I hope the NVC speeds up and we get a cc this month.
