K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion about k-3
Hi,
I just got engaged last week and my fiance and I are asessing our visa options. We are thinking about going the k-3 route. I'm in the U.S on a J-1 visa and leave in 5 weeks. We were thinking of getting married here quickly in a courthouse before I leave for Ireland and then applying for the k-3 visa. My reservations were that we might have enough evidence to support the marriage since we would be having such a quick ceremony and that our engagement would be so short. I just didn't want to leave a bad impression and have a possiblity of not getting the k-3 due to lack of evidence for the marriage. Our full wedding would be next May. Our other option was to do the fiance visa and get married next May. We just are enquiring if the k-3 would be a better option for us.

Any help would be much appreciated

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresTravel during k-3 process
Another quick question. I was wondering if I would be allowed to travel to the USA for a quick visit during the k-3 process? Or am I not allowed to travel until the visa is issued.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresThe Stupid RFE Thread
Category:
1-130

My RFE was:
We only submitted my wife's abstract birth certificate instead of full birth certificate as proof of citizenship

What I learned:
Make sure to send in photocopies of passport and birth certificate

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCouple of questions in regards to I-130
Just a couple of quick questions.

Affadavits - Can they just be typed letters signed by friends and family confirming knowledge of the relationship and marriage or do they have to be legitimate sworn affadavits?

G-235a - it says in the guide all four pages...do we fill out four copies of the same page for the packet?

Birth and marriage certificates - can they be photocopies or do they have to be originals?

Thanks so much

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresQuery - tax forms I-864
Thanks for your reply.

So if we get tax transcripts for her last 3 returns that will have us covered? The only thing is she is filing her 09 return as we speak. Her accountant will return her documents once he's finished. Can we make copies of those and send them in? Will that cover us? She will have transcripts for 08 07 and 06

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresQuery - tax forms I-864
Hey everyone,

I-130 was approved today! My partner and I are very excited. I just have a question about the tax forms for the I-864 AOS. My wife has requested transcripts for the last 3 years from the IRS and they should be sent soon. Is this all the tax info she needs to send?

It says that for the most recent return it needs copies of all forms. Can these be photocopies or do they have to be orignals?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHelp! Need advice
Hey, I just want to hear some feedback and advice about a thought we have in regards to the K-1 fiance visa.

I'm Irish and my fiance is a US citizen. We are planning to get married in Ireland and then live in the US. From my research this is what I've come up with in terms of a possible legal route we can take:

We would apply for the K-1 fiance visa and I at the same time would apply for the Form I-131 allowing me to travel on the visa.

I would, next spring, go to America and we would marry at a court house getting the marriage license etc making us legally married. I would then return to Ireland and we would be married at a ceremony a month later with our friends and family present.

We would then both return to the US to live and I would apply for permanent residence.

I'm just wondering through your experience would this route be legal and an upfront way of doing things?

I also have some quick questions too. How long does a person have before they must apply for permanent residence while on a K-1 fiance visa?
And also while on a K-1 with the I-131, can one leave and return multiple times or is it a one time thing?

Also, if anyone has a better route we could take given our wishes and circumstances, please feel free to share. Any help and advice would be much appreciated. Thanks so much!
