US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionCo sponsor not Allowed?
QUOTE (Mysteerie @ Feb 13 2008, 08:52 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I had my fiancée call the Manila Embassy with some questions about co-sponsorship. Well apparently they do not allow you to have a co sponsor. Can anyone who recently went through the interview process confirm from your own interview if you got the same response?

As far as I know, so long as your fiancee is the primary sponsor (regardless of her a bility to sponsor you) you can have as many co-sponsors as you like. I went through the London embassy though, but I see no reason why the rules would be any different. I assume you're talking about the I-134...

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionAdditional processing after interview in London - name check..

I believe that you have passed your interview. The reason they are looking more into that is just that they are being extra careful right now, because of September 11th. It's affecting you, it's affecting us all.
I also believe that they understand that this process takes long enough for us and they will do your name check very quickly. It doesn't take that long for FBI to do a background check on a civil person.
Do not worry!

Our thoughts are with you! I soooo believe it will not take long. I give it a week.

Thanks for the reassurance smile.gif

Yes, as far as i know I passed the interview. Once the background check is done and everything is ok, I am supposed to arrange for the courier to pick up my passport and take it to the embassy, and then they will courier the visa and passport back to me. The consular officer told me she had to get it checked and that she didn't want to lose her job by being careless. What pissed me off is that she told me to "go home and relax".. yeah right! tongue.gif

I seem to remember the ConOff saying it will take a few weeks.. and that she usually tells people 6 weeks... but you still get instances where these things get stuck in admin, and there's no way to check on it. Thats my fear..

I am so sorry to hear that. Keep your chin up and everything is going to be alright. Hopefully it will not take long. Wishing the best for you rose.gif rose.gif

Thanks blush.gif I hope this is sorted out promptly.. its just without any way of checking, you are stuck in limbo and all plans come to a halt. Its a real spanner in the works. I was just wondering if anyone had had a similar experience?

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionAdditional processing after interview in London - name check..
My name got flagged at my K1 interview yesterday. Someone with the same name as me has had trouble at the US port of entry or something and they have sent my application to Washington for additional processing. They gave my passport back and said they would call when they hear back from Washington.

Is this going to take weeks? months? years??

I am so stressed that this will be stuck in administration.. I can't believe this happened.. I am really low sad.gif

Any advice or consolation?

Thankyou..

Tom
