Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 Cover Page and Acco Prong Fasteners
This can be confusing. Here is another site on USCIS. It says to use ACCO fasteners.

http://www.uscis.gov...00045f3d6a1RCRD

I used ACCO fasteners on all our submissions.

Good luck on what you decide.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionInterview 9/15/09, Card Ordered 9/30/09
I received an e-mail sent by USCIS at 5:15AM today saying they were mailing the Approval Letter. The same was posted on USCIS. We can now rest a little easier. I will feel better when we actually receive the letter and then stop worrying when we receive the 10 year GC.

Thanks again for all of your help. Have a great day.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionInterview 9/15/09, Card Ordered 9/30/09
I have been checking the mail every day this past week. I have not received a letter from USCIS about the approval. Should I be concerned about this or just wait for the 30 days to pass? The e-mails said the card was ordered on 9/30. I hate this suspense. It is very frustrating that we were not approved at our interview at the Field Office in New Orleans. The lady said our case would have to be forwarded up the chain for approval. I think she was a trainee. When we had our interview for the 2 year GC, the man told us we were approved pending the appropriate shot records which we returned to their office in a few hours and the cards were ordered the next day.

I thought we should have received an official letter from USCIS saying she was approved.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionInterview 9/15/09, Card Ordered 9/30/09
At last, we have received some news. kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif We had our interview in New Orleans on 9/15 and have hear nothing until this afternoon. I got an e-mail and then checked the USCIS website. They both said the Card Ordered on 9/30/09. I presume we will receive a letter about being approved.

I was about to call the Representative's Office and ask them to check on what was going on. I thought 16 days was a long time from the interview to not have heard anything.

Thanks to everyone who helped in this process. My wife doesn't know yet, because she has gone to Russia for a month. I will call her tomorrow and let her know the news. I did call my step-daughter and let her know she should be receiving her card soon. She is attending the University in Portland, OR.

I won't rest easy until both 10 year Green Cards are in hand. Next, is staring on the Citizenship, N-400 application which we can file in January 2010.

Only on the application and Cover letter and Table of Contents. We used ACCO fasteners. They have not lost anything yet, to my knowledge.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 and the formidable interview
We had an interview 9/15. It must have been random because the lady said she did not know why were were required to have an interview. I gave her some updated information and she said she had plenty. She could not approve us. She said it would have to go to the powers that be. I believe she was a trainee. We got an e-mail on 9/30 saying the 10 year GC was ordered. My wife got hers last week. Her daughter has not received hers yet. We are going to call USCIS tomorrow.

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion19 months waiting for I 751 approval
If you are eligible, file the N-400 for Citizenship. Call you Representative or Senator's office and get them involved. Once we contacted our Representative's office, miraculously our paperwork appeared and we were scheduled for an interview at the Field Office. The N-400 will force the I-751 out of the woodwork to be approved, then they can act on the N-400. Good luck.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionUnderstanding Removing Conditions CORRECTLY from Spain???
Welcome to VJ. First, go to My Assistant above and fill in your Timeline.

You did not say why you are in Spain. Is it military? Government orders?

Are you maintaining a residence in the US? Will you be able to document your shared live in the US?

Maybe someone has a similar experience who will provide more information.

When you go to apply for Citizenship, six months outside the US will count against you.

Good luck.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionExperiences With Early Biometrics / Walk-Ins
ELW, we went to the Field Office with both my wife's and her daughter's Notice for Biometrics. They would not let them do it early. We had to go after the original date because we were going to be out of town. Many others don't have this problem. Good luck.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionExperiences With Early Biometrics / Walk-Ins
At our Filed Office, you cannot get biometrics done early. We can and did have to schedule it for a later date. Other Field Offices will let you do it early. The only way I know to find out is to actually go to your Field Office and ask them. They don't have a phone number you can call and I doubt the 800 # will know. You cannot do it early unless you have to letter from USCIS which schedules you. Good luck.

PhilippinesI have a few questions regarding flights from Manila
You can travel on an e-ticket. I do not recommend getting a plane ticket until after your fiance gets her visa in her hand. One never knows for sure about when you will get the visa. If you get the ticket in advance and something goes wrong, you will be out money to change ticket plus the difference in the cost of the new ticket. Just wait, then buy. Good luck on your journey.

You may want to check the airline directly. I just purchased some tickets and Delta was cheaper than about 10 other places I checked. That is no always the case, but it has been the last couple of months.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresvisiting fiance' any advice
Question. Do you have the forms signed and dated by your fiancee that need to be included in your Petition? You may need to wait until your visit to get them filled out and signed and dated. Good luck.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresInterview Date
I have just found out that my fiancee's interview date is 11 August. It will be almost 3 months after NVC forwarded the petition to the US Embassy. I have been very nervous about the IMBRA and its affect on us. I hope that the interview will not be canceled as other interviews have been. I think ours is ahead of the 6 March effective date of the IMBRA, but one never knows how it may be interpreted. We were expecting her to be here in July and have a September wedding. Now it will be mid August and an October wedding, maybe. At least there is a ray of hope that our petition has not been lost and that there is an interview date scheduled. She should receive her packet in the next few weeks, I hope.

This board is really great with lots of good information. People are very helpful and nice. I wish everyone good luck in this process. Our government has done a lot of damage to couples who are in this process. I think things are beginning to move again. Have a great day.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion!!!!
If you already have the baby, you would need the Birth Certificate, translated and certified. If you have not already filed your I-129F, the baby should be listed on it. I hope this helps. Congratulations on your new baby.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresThey Have It!
This is your first good feeling on this journey. You now know they have received it. I don't know if the TSC is working on the Petitons or if they will forward it to the CSC like they did mine and a lot of others. Good luck in this process. I hope you have been reading on here about the IMBRA and how it is going to affect you. You may get a RFE to fill out additional information because of the new law and the new I-129F form being developed. Don't worry, a lot of people are in the same boat. Everything will be fine as you proceed down the road. Read as much as you can on this forum.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDifferent Dates being told by USCIS Officer
From what I am reading http://travel.state....grams_2927.html it looks like the date received. I do not know for sure. You could try calling again to see if you get another answer and clarification. You could quote the attached reference where it says: "The DHS Service Center Operations (SCOPS) Unit of USCIS, Status/Family Branch requested that posts return to NVC all K1 I-129F petitions with priority dates (date received at the DHS office) on or after March 6, 2006."

Good luck and let us know if you find out something else. I am presuming that the DHS office is the Service Center. It could be a mess. It could be the NVC office receipt date and not the Service Center date received. I just can't read too good.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1 Visa Attorneys
I know it is intimidating when you look at the forms and instructions. We completed the K-1 packet ourselves. If you get an attorney, you will have to furnish all the information to be put on the forms and you will have to give them all the attachments. To me, you can get the help on this forum and do it yourself. You will waste time sending them all the information and then they will have to put it all together for you. By the time they get the information, you could have it all together, punch holes a the top and use an ASCO fastener to bind everything and have it in the mail. It would be received by the Service Center by the time the attorney would get the information. No major issues, no problem. Do it yourself and save the time and the money. Just check everything 10 times and then sleep on it. Then check it again about 3 more times the next day and put it in the mail. Good luck on your decision.

Visa was received on 8/17/06, six days after the interview. She gave two weeks notice to her employer on Friday, 8/18/06. Tickets for Lucy and her daughter were purchased for 9/12/06 from SVO through Paris to Cincinnati . We are getting closer to us being together. AT LAST. I appreciate all the help on this board. I am going to continue researching for SSN, AOS, and AP. It seems that things never end and the money keeps pouring out.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureswhat k1 visa firm do you recomend
Read the Guide, get the forms, fill them out yourself. If you have problems, come to VJ and ask your questions. I would suggest reading the instructions at least 3 times and make notes on what is required. Most of us have done this ourself and had no problems. Good luck.

I forgot to add that you need to read this forum a lot to get familiar with the questions others have. It is a great forum with tons of good information.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresshould I send proof of residency with G325...
If I remember correctly, you need US passport photos that are 2"x2", color, frontal view. I may be wrong. Check for the proper passport photos. It seems every country has different sizes and some have different views.
Good luck in your journey.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresfiancee one time visit
Many people meet only once before filing the I-129F. They support the relationship with photos when they meet, pictures over the Internet, e-mails, and phone calls. They have no problem getting through the process. I only went once to meet, get engaged, fill out the papers, and come home. I understand more trips can be better, but as long as you have a lot of documentation, then I personally don't see a problem.

Good luck on your journey.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresA Question About the Visa Process
You can always get engaged while she is here and then get married. Then start the K-3 process. She cannot travel back home after your marriage. She will have to wait until she gets either Advance Parole or her Green Card. I had a friend marry his wife while she was here and they met for the first time. The only problem is the intent of her coming. If she is coming just to see you and is not aware of you wanting to propose to her, then I think it is all right. If she knows you want to get engaged and then get married, then you should not do it and file for the K-3. Read up on this before you decide. I am not suggesting you do something illegal. Read and ask questions.

Good luck on your journey.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresdivorce decree
A certified copy of what is filed at the court house is what is needed. Take originals of everything to the interview. Don't take a chance of getting there, them asking you for the original and you not having it. Then you have to reschedule the interview and go back to the embassy again.

Good luck with the interview and your journey.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresLetter from bank for I134?
Necessary vs not necessary. I sent my letter from the bank. It they want it, they have it. If they don't want it, they have it anyhow. I had rather send too much than not enough and get a RFE. To each their own. This is a long and expensive process and I believe in furnishing what they want, what I think they want, what I want to send that is not mentioned. So far, so good in this process. I know their are ones who send less and get approved. I am happy for them. One never knows who will review their case, which side of the bed they got up on, good mood or bad mood, which instructions they are following, etc. The choice is yours, but I would send the bank information. Good luck on your journey.
