Seems like we are all having a nice short medical!

On the downside, my medical was last Tuesday (3rd) phoned the DoS today and not only has my medical not been logged yet, not have my packet 3 forms that were signed for on Aug 21st. *sigh* it's a long tedious waiting game.....

I guess I just was not totally sure on the a&e appropriate things as since all my records were lost, some of the childhood vaccines I had had I just re did all the ones I thought were appropriate!

And oh bum, lol, I didn't know if they ever checked medical records and if I hadn't admitted it was worried it may cause problems.

Wow - in and out in 40 minutes!!

Everything was great - got my paperwork that I was told to look after as I need it for AOS to prove all my vaccinations are up to date ( discovered i didnt need to have had the Hep A after all, but hey-ho, better safe than sorry!)

BUT.......... I had answered YES to one of the questions - have you ever been treated for depression - I was prescribed anti-depressants 5 years ago for 6 months, the Doc said it wasnt a problem at all and wouldnt affect my visa application but that she would need a letter from my GP stating why I was prescribed, what I was prescribed, whether I was ever in danger of hurting myself or others and prognosis. She said they couldn't send my results to the Embassy without it :( She gave me the exact details needed from my GP and said it could be faxed or emailed to them, and as soon as they had it, it would all be sent off to the Embassy.

I went to my GP as soon as I got back and begged for him to write it up for me ASAP (of course there will be a charge for this!) but he said the soonest he could do it would be thursday..... another delay.

Ah well, in the scheme of things a few more days isn't the end of the world, but I did almost wish I had just NOT ADMITTED TO IT!!!!

Thank you for that mattnickless! It's always nice to know what to expect, I had read to expect to be there for up to 3+ hours so its great to hear it can all go much quicker than that :)

I booked my medical the day I got my case number (by ringing the DoS) - that was about a week + before i received my packet 3 letter.  They only asked for my case number ad gave me a date, no questions at all about whether I had received my packet 3. (case number recieved late night UK time August 14th, medical date made first thing August 15th, medical September 3rd. K3 letter recieved August 24th!)

Thank you Penguin!  I guessed so as I have never heard of the petitioner having an interview, but wanted to be able to reassure him!! :)

United KingdomPetitioner interview??

Hi,

I have received my packet 3 , posted all DS forms and readiness letter and have my medical booked....all going smoothly, but today my fiance has called in a slight panic to say he has received a letter saying the visa application has been forwarded to the consular division etc and he seems to think that it says HE will hear in the next week or so regarding an interview??

I am assuming this letter is just a standard letter sent to the petitioner, and the interview it is talking about is in fact MY interview that will of course be at the US Embassy London??

kdgFemaleUnited Kingdom2013-08-26 14:38:00
United KingdomRequired documentation: Ex & non-immigrating children

My fiancé/husband did not provide his first marriage certificate or the children's birth certificates. I don't recall anybody else since who has had an issue with that either, The London wording has always been a little weird on that one. Another unexpected thing--the names of the children will appear on his Interview letter, even though he will have indicated on his form they are not immigrating. That can be ignored. No need to call and try to fix it. It always happens and doesn't mean they are getting a visa. I suppose the computer that cranks out the letter picks up from the field naming all children who are age eligible.

SO glad I read this Nich-Nick - my children are not coming with me and I DID freak when I saw their names on the packet 3 letter and wondered if I had done something wrong on the I-129f other than list their names.....THANK YOU for ALL your knowledge!! :)

kdgFemaleUnited Kingdom2013-08-26 15:41:00
United Kingdomis there need for me to be concerned?
No, I haven't contacted the embassy in any way which was why I was hopeful it may at least be my packet 3 forms being logged. I just have to learn patience, sometimes I wish I didn't know about the CEAC website since I find myself checking it everyday several times a day!!!
kdgFemaleUnited Kingdom2013-09-07 02:25:00
United Kingdomis there need for me to be concerned?

Just to say I also have an update on the CEAC website today, I phoned the DoS to see whether it was the logging of my forms (signed for on Aug 21st) or medical notes (Sept 4th) - they also had NO record of an update before August 19th which was the mailing of my packet 3.  Must be a glitch somewhere between the 2 - wonder if it is due to the relocation today?

Good luck...

kdgFemaleUnited Kingdom2013-09-06 16:38:00
United Kingdomhow long should i expect to wait for interview date?
My medical was September 3rd, three weeks ago tomorrow and still no news on an interview date :( my forms that were signed for on August 21st were only logged on September 18th. Seems like they are not rushing things!

United Kingdomhow long should i expect to wait for interview date?
Ah, that makes sense. No I am not taking my kids with me but they are listed on my packet 3 letter which apparently is normal even though I have stated they are not travelling either now or following. (They were listed on my initial I 129f as it asked if I had any children!)
kdgFemaleUnited Kingdom2013-08-28 13:06:00
United Kingdomhow long should i expect to wait for interview date?
No, not logged but just signed for at the embassy via recorded mail. My CEAC status still shows as last updated 20th August which was when my packet 3 letter was dated an shows 01 02 and 03 as ready which I take as packets 1, 2 and 3?
kdgFemaleUnited Kingdom2013-08-28 12:30:00
United Kingdomhow long should i expect to wait for interview date?

My packet 3 was also received by the Embassy on August 21st, and my medical is next Tuesday, I am hopeful, but not expecting an interview date until early October, seems like it is at least 4 weeks post medical

kdgFemaleUnited Kingdom2013-08-28 11:00:00
United KingdomAnyone else waited more than 6 weeks for an interview?
The Embassy emailed me two weeks ago to say it would take four weeks from date of receipt to process our forms and issue an interview date. They received our forms on Sept 6th making this week six, and no sign of a date.

Yes I am in the same boat and also received that email about the same time, it's now 6 weeks post medical :( I just emailed them again.... The wait seems to be getting longer and longer, I am sure when we first started this process the wait seemed to be 2 weeks post medical you got an interview date for about 4 weeks after that.

United KingdomTeething problems with booking/paying/courier changes.

Just an update and warning to this and people paying and booking early as I did, thinking I would be prepared.....

As stated, I used my work address as the delivery option as I guessed I would eb more likely to be there than home, however, since it has taken SOOOOOO long to get an interview date, I actually finish work at the end of this month and will no longer be there to get my visa and passprt when delivered!!

No problem, I thought, jsut go back and change the delivery address which at the time the website said was possible up to 24 hours prior to the interview date.

THIS OPTION IS NO LONGER POSSIBLE!  I have sent 2 emails to them requesting the change, and explaining the situation, to which I get a standard response auto email back saying it is not possible to change the deliver address........

This now means I will have to hopefully be able to track when it leaves the depot and is on track for delivery, and spend the day at my old place of work awaiting its arrival!!!

Oh poop :( no I didn't know that. Will have to change it back again I guess and hope I am home after all. Thanks for the heads up :)

United KingdomTeething problems with booking/paying/courier changes.
I figured I would, knowing my luck, be out when they try to deliver lol and someone is at the clinic I work at everyday - my nearest depot is about an hours drive away so for me the extra $30 was well worth it.

Medical was a breeze, in and out in 40 minutes, although I foolishly admitted a 6 month stint of antidepressants 5 years ago which then meant my notes couldn't be sent to the embassy until my GP had sent a letter explaining why when what prognosis etc - luckily I went straight from Knightsbridge back home via the doctors surgery and begged them to fax a letter ASAP - which they did te next morning so hopefully nothing was held up.

Just a waiing game now for interview date!

United KingdomTeething problems with booking/paying/courier changes.

I registered and paid my MRV fee yesterday - medical was on tuesday so I know I have a long wait yet for my interview date but after reading of the problems people were having with the site Ithought I would give it a go now rather than last minute; I had no problems and paid/organised courier to home then went back and changed delivery address to work - all straight forward so maybe this part has been sorted out even of the actual delivery process hasnt!!

Thank you both. It's too late now for me to do anything other than turn up and hope for the best. I could just kick myself I have been ready for months and must've just not noticed the marriage certificate requirement, just the decree absolute.

Fingers crossed I won't be the first to have to show it.

I have all my documents and have e decree absolute and copy, but never did I know I needed the original marriage certificate!! I don't remember any time upto now in the process needing it - do they really need to see it if I am showing them te decree absolute?

Major panic time.... Please help someone!!

It was £6 yesterday and that was to leave a large hold all plus mobile phone and iPad which they bagged separately. They said if I needed to return to add or remove anything it was an additional £3. You get a raffle ticket to keep to reclaim your belongings!

United KingdomInterview 4th Nov - Q's
The interview letter does say you won't be let in more than 30 minuets before your interview not sure if that holds true but they do ask you your interview time when you get to the first check point and check you on their list.

I stayed at a travel lodge in vauxhall which was a couple of tube stops from bond street then a short walk to the embassy - £78 for a double room.

United KingdomWho is waiting for an interview date?
I agree this is the toughest part, it feels like the finishing line is in sight but it keeps moving a little further away!

I received my packet 4 interview letter on Thursday for my interview on Monday - but I did email the embassy weekly stressing I was available at short notice!

My ceac updates went from ready before the interview, on the day it changed to ready for interview process and fingerprints, to now, the day after, when it says in administrative process. So it does change wording as the process moves along.

Good luck everyone, it think things are moving faster now all the student visas are done. Saying that whilst I was at the embassy yesterday, from 8.45 until I left at around 11.45 they only seemed to get through about 8 immigration (I) visa applications. Countless N ones!

United KingdomWho is waiting for an interview date?
The number to call is +1 202 485 7600 option 1 then option 0

I think 4 weeks is the standard response and remember that is for your interview to be scheduled not necessarily for it to take place although it seems like they are suddenly catching up which is great.

Aaaaaaaghhhh I HAVE AN INTERVIEW DATE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Words cannot describe my happiness!!! Just checked and had a status update on the ceac website so I phoned the dos and my interview is scheduled for October 28th!!!!!!

Best of luck to both of you - the end is now is sight!!!

I SOOOOOOOOOO hope that this will be the week I hear something.......... I feel very despondent about it all now, having NO control over the situation is frusrartion itself - especailly hearing people who are getting interviews who had medicals after mine, there is just no rhyme nor reason to their scheduling (that I can see anyhow!)

Another Friday = another week ended with no news. Sigh. I finish work at the end of October and have sold my house so will be jobless and homeless while I just wait - wow it is frustrating and depressing, why oh why is it now taking sooooo long to get interviews???????? :(

Hoping my turn will come SOON!!

United KingdomWho is waiting for an interview date?

I did email them a few weeks ago to track progress, hence knowing they processed my forms on Sept 20th - I think there may be a delay as although I clearly stated on my forms my children were neither travelling with me or following after, they (the Embassy) said that although they had received my medical report they were waiting for the childrens.....to say I was cross was an understatement! This is when they told me the current wait was 4 weeks,  but I think I may ring the DoS again this evening and see if they have an interview date logged yet.

I was so hoping to be in the US the first week of November as I have sold my house and this will be my completion date, but I cant see that happening unless I hear very very soon!!

United KingdomWho is waiting for an interview date?

This is actually very reassuring news!

I find that it is the last thing I do at night (approx midnight) and the first thing I do in the morning (approx 6am!)   I KNOW things can change in that period as they did when my case was sent to the UK, but it is very, very frustrating being in this limbo period.......... Packet 3 signed for Aug 21st, Medical was Sept 3rd, and I was advised they began processing my paperwork on September 20th and the approx wait time is 4 weeks.
