K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPassport photo- advice please!
QUOTE (bnr @ Jan 21 2008, 07:54 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello,

I have a Q regarding the passport photo. In the USCIS instructions they do not state the exact dimensions of the photo itself that they need. Just that the full frontal image must be one inch from your chin to the top of your hair. I read an informational page on a site giving a very precise description to what the photo should look like, also stating that it should be 2" by 2" in dimensions.

The problem with this is that everywhere he has gone to get a passport photo they only do....about 1 and a quarter by 2" and some 1 and a half by 1 and a half. So our option would be is if he went to a professional studio, who then told him it could take over a week to get the photo, we are trying to send this application ASAP! What should we do? I don't want to take a risk that USCIS will reject our photo and ask us for another and delay our app. so should we go ahead with the professional photographer.
Oh and yes, he has already tried to make one on his computer and keeps coming out with problems.

Thanks!!!

Here is the guide for the passport photos: Look at the #8; the specification will explain for you.

QUOTE (wised up too late @ Jan 1 2008, 07:03 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
From past experiences, I would not realy on e-mail or the site where u can sign up to chek for touches and all that. Niether were accurate for me. Our 129f still shows pending and we are AOS approved. Touches were wrong and missing. I wouldn't count on that info too much.

I agree...don't rely on email and site status too much. You will have to call them and speak to them live.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHello...A couple of questions about I-129F
Yes there is a Thailand thread on this site under "SAWASDEE 2". As for some of your questions: You would need copy of your divorce degree. She would need to use her address in Thailand. You are welcome to PM me if you need further assistance. Welcome to VJ and good luck with the rest of the process.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresmilitary service certificate
First of all...Are you a US citizen? If so, then you are a retired US Army? You must have some sort of retirement from it to call it a "career". If you were just served for several years, then it would just be an experience. If anything other than that...it's not as important and it will not make the process any faster.
I was active duty Air Force when I submitted my K-1 package back in May 2007. I am now retired since September 2007 after 21 plus years. I did submitted my military service information because I used it as a proof of US citizenship. I became US citizen by naturalized at the beginning of my Air Force career; otherwise I would have to get out after serving for first 4 yrs. I did not submit it to make the process go any faster.

Bottom Line...You don't need it if you are a US citizen. You will need it if you are a retired Army and receiving your retirement pay. It will be used as a part of financial support later on in the process.

Hope that makes any sense. Good luck. good.gif

??Hello all;

I have been reading some of the threads here and thought some of you might need some advices about Thai food for your Thai SO. I also do realized that some of you do not live in an area where there are many Asian. If you can find any local Asian market or even your local super market, you certainly will find some ingredients that can be put together to make Thai dishes. Many super markets now carry Asian food items. You can substitute carrots, cucumbers, green string beans for papaya to make som tum. As for bacteria fish sauce (pla lar) you can buy that in bottle. They do sell them in Asian market.

You don't have to have a Thai super market specifically to make Thai dishes; just any Asian market will do or even franchised supermarket i.e. Raley's/Bel Air, Safeway, Allbertson. They all carry some sort of Asian food and ingredients. Well, I hope this well help a bit. Good luck.

Luke
