Hello everybody,
we are in the same boat at this stage. as my timeline shows, its about 5 months that NVC is doing schedule for my interview in Abu Dhabi. my attorney , my wife and me have sent a lot of emails and called NVC several times to figure out how long we should wait for my interview. but they never told any estimation but once a lady from NVC told me that it may takes 6 months or 9 months it depends on Abu Dhaby Embassy. I can just tell you that act like your user name SABR CON BARAYE AZIZE DELAM which means in Farsi (I Do wait for my sweetheart) the way i do too.
I hope you tollerate this hard times and be with your wife soon.

Arash,

Has your case been completed yet at the NVC, as your Timeline shows that the case # was assigned in June, however not that it was completed. If it has, what date was it completed that would help give us an idea of how far back the waitinglist is for Abu Dhabi.

Alhamdullilah, my wife's case was completed by the NVC on Oct 26th. :dancing: Does anyone know about how long it will take for the NVC to schedule her appointment in Abu Dhabi ???

Thanks for the help. I'm trying to ease my wife's concerns about waiting too long. I keep telling her she should be so so so happy that things have gone this well, alhamdullilah. But I know it's hard on her.

Any clue would be much appreciated. Trying to plan on ticket prices and time off from work.

Thanks.

We are going through the same process as yourself CR-1/IR-1 through Abu Dhabi.
Just to give you a little idea, our case was completed on the 8th September, unfortunatly still no interview ...

OOooooh WOW. OK, now i'm feeling a mood crash. :o  Would you mind updating or sending me your timeline so I could see it, and compare. Our I-129F is still pending also. Is your spouse from Iran also?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but with the Abu Dhabi Embassy nothing moves quickly.

As I have not been keeping track of dates, as this has been going on for 2 years. However I can tell you,

I-129F
Our petition was received 2nd May 2005, Approved 3rd August 2005.
The initial Interview in Abu Dhabi was 17th October 2005
Needed Police Docs from UK, and await FBI fingerprint report which they said would take 2weeks it took 5 weeks, and they advised me I would need a waiver to continue. As they said according to their records I had been deported(Not true). It took till July 2006 for them to realise that they had made a mistake, and only after I was able to provide a letter from the DHS in US (Unfortunatly there is no coordination between DHS in Embassies and US) and send it to the Embassy in Abu Dhabi to show that I had not been deported. They semi-apologised at the interview and I had the Visa the next day.

As we had processed the I-130 at the same time and our lawyer had forwarded all the necessary fees, we decided to continue the process of the Green card from here, as we understood from timelines that it would be a shorter route from the point we were at than the COS and EAD in the US. An assupmtion we are now beginnig to regret.

Therefore the Case was completed on the 8th September at the NVC, you are then added to a list. Every month the Embassy in Abu Dhabi advises NVC how many interviews they can take for the month and your case according to the list is assigned accordingly. There is no way of knowing how many people are ahead of you, note that all interviews are scheduled for the month on the 2nd week of previous month. So Friday 10th was last day for scheduling... for the month of December. If you did not get an interview you need to wait till the 8th of December to find out if you got a interview in January.

I hope that help. As for Nationality my husband is American and I am British, but my family live in Dubai. hence the reason I am here.

Sorry it was not better news re Abu Dhabi Embassy.
