US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	When to schedule? I need advice and information	Hello everyone, I have a few questions about when I can schedule and when I should schedule. Thank you for any help you can give. 1) I would like to know if I can schedule my medical exam and interview BEFORE I get the packet from the Manila Embassy? he has already gotten the notice that the petition was sent to Manila and the MNL case number. 2) If I have to wait for the packet, can I reschedule the medical and/or the interview? Can my fiancee (he is in the U.S.) schedule for me? 3) Does rescheduling count against us in the interview? We are expecting the packet from the embassy within the next two weeks, and I want to schedule my interview for June. I am in Osaka right now. My fiancee and I have agreed that I should stay if possible for certain reasons until around May 24. Is that too far away? If it is too long, what is the longest time before it might count again us? What I want to know is: Can I return to my Country before November 25th without causing problems with my N-400? If I can how long can i stay without causing any problem with my application? US Citizenship General Discussion	Help! Confused N400	As stated on USCIS website in the "Citizenship through naturalization" section... Physical Presence Applicants are required to show that they were: Physically present in the U.S. for thirty months within the five year period before applying, or (see legal basis) Physically present in the U.S. for eighteen months within the three year period before applying in the case of qualified spouses of U.S. citizens (see legal basis) In addition, applicants are required to show they have resided for at least three months immediately preceding the filing of Form N-400 in the USCIS district or state where the applicant claims to have residency (See 8 CFR §316.2(a)(5) & §319.1(a)(5)). So, if you have been present in the us for a minimum of 18 months within the three years, you are eligible for citizenship. You do have to reside in the state where you claim residency for at least three months before filing, and you have to file where you reside - so no, you cannot file immediately after you are back, and no, you cannot file in Georgia if you actually reside in CA, and vice versa. Thanks so much for the quick reply. So I think I will have to postponed my plan moving to Cali and continue my residency in Georgia. US Citizenship General Discussion	Help! Confused N400	Hello. I am in my home country right now and been here for 5 months already. I lived in Georgia but I am planning to move to California when I return to the US. I want to know if I can send my N-400 application in California right after I get back to the states? Or do I have to wait for 3 months before I can submit my application? Also, If I cannot file my N-400 in CA, can i file it in GA instead eventhough i was not in the state 3 months prior the application? Lastly, I want to know if it is safe to submit my application, I am married for 3.5 years already and been out the US twice.. (1) 2 months (2) 5 months? I have my green card and am waiting for my husband to return before I apply for citizenship. My 6 month time to be overseas will expire soon and I will need to return before his contract is finished. US Citizenship General Discussion	N-400 JUNE 2012 Filers	I passed my naturalization interview today My IO was nice. I was scheduled at 1230 but I was called for interview at 1245 and exactly 10 mins after my interview was done. I was surprised he only asked to see my Greencard, passports, and state ID even though I was asked on my interview letter to bring Hubby's passport, birth Cert, marriage contract and tax transcripts. I have other back up documents too since I was out of the country for straight 181 days. Questions asked: 1. Longest river in the US? 2. When do we vote for President? 3. How many amendments does the constitution has? 4. We elect US representative for how many years? 5. The house of representative has how many voting members? 6. Who the President of the US? Then he congratulated me that I passed and asked me if i have questions, I then asked him about the Oath Taking date and he said Nov 8. He gave me 2 papers that says Recommended for approval and Oath taking schedule. IT WAS A PIECE OF CAKE! I thought it was hard. I was asked to bring my spouse birth certificate which he no longer have or passport which he has with him in Afghanistan. I have photocopies of his passport tho. I checked my status at USCIS website and I still have the same message as before that they received my application and sent me a notice etc... I think i over looked the affidavit from friends and i only have xerox copies from each friend. they sent me they're letters thru fax since they live in another state and im afraid it might take awhile to receive the originals from them since they're busy. Philippines	HELP....!!!!! LOST MEDICAL RECORDS!	I went to my 1st day MEDICAL yesterday May 20. I told the Examiner about my previous sickness w/c is the PULMONARY COMPLEX way back 1988 when i was 3 y/o.. The examiner told me to get a Medical Certificate regarding the sickness i had before but when i went to the Hospital they told me that they do not have the 1980's files anymore and since i am an OUT PATIENT too. The Hospital told me to call them on Friday or wait 5 days if there are still some files left but my interview is on May 27 Tuesday. I was also told that they cannot give me Medical Certificate about that sickness because they do not have the Records. I did not have any Pulmonary problems after i was treated and i had several MEDICAL CHECK UPS when i had a job, i am not smoking neither drinking. And i am pretty sure that i am fine now about my health. I am so worried that if i cannot send the SLEC the Medical Certificate they want before my INTERVIEW schedule. And or what to ask the Hospital so they can do something about giving me Certificate even they do not have my file anymore? Is it possible if i will ask for the Hospital a letter to present SLEC that they do not have my records anymore? And will SLEC accept it? I am so really worried. I am running out of time.
