IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCan you mail Affidavit of Support with DS-230?

Hey everyone! I'm entirely new to this site, but I have a pretty important question.

I have paid my Affidavit of Support fee, and have all AOS forms ready to go with the cover sheet. Out of curiosity, I called the NVC to ask if I could mail my DS-230 forms with it as well. I got a very confusing answer. She told me I could put the AOS in one envelope (with cover sheet) and the DS-230 (with the same cover sheet as AOS) in a separate envelope, and mail both in ONE envelope... even though I haven't received a bill for the IV fee yet.

Has anyone mailed both forms together with success? Even before you receive/pay the IV fee? I understand that the NVC takes 20 business to process forms they receive, and I would like to speed up this process as much as possible.

Thanks in advance!

Alright, I think I will play it safe then. I'd rather wait to get the IV bill and express mail the envelope, rather than risk losing the civil documents. Thanks a bunch guys <3

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMISSING DOCUMENTS?!

If they say you're missing the whole package then it is likely a false checklist meaning they have reviewed your AOS package! biggrin.png

Just to be sure, the letter looks like this:

First Page:

Dear JESSICA:

We have reviewed the documents which you submitted in support of an application for an immigrant
visa. Please review the information listed under each applicant's name and provide any documents
which are indicated as missing or need additional information. You must submit the required
information. Failure to provide the requested information will delay your immigrant visa interview.

Please read the enclosed information to determine where to send all required copies of missing
documents. If you have any questions regarding this letter, please call the National Visa Center at (603)
334-0700 between the hours of 7:30am and midnight ET.

Please include a copy of this letter with your correspondence and write your case number clearly (exactly
as it appears below) on the upper right-hand corner of all documents.
From the date you mail or transmit the requested information, please allow 20 business days for NVC to
review this documentation/your mail. When we complete our review, the NVC will notify
you/petitioner/beneficiary/attorney with information regarding the next processing step.

Are you sure this isn't anything to be concerned about? Should I call the NVC to make sure they have the package?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMISSING DOCUMENTS?!

Hi everyone! PLEASE HELP!

Today I received an email from the NVC with a "missing document checklist". So far, we have payed all fees and submitted BOTH the Affidavit of Support and Immigrant Visa Application (DS-230) with all civil documents. We submitted the DS-230 package one week later than the AOS.

It says in the email that we are missing the Immigrant Visa Application, even though we mailed it (with a delivery confirmation that it was received). We are panicking, because it took a very long time to obtain the civil documents!

Could it be that the AOS was just processed (it's been about 20 business days) and they automatically send this email to request the next set of documents? We know for a fact that the NVC has our Immigrant Visa Application (because of the delivery confirmation), so why are they saying that it is missing?

PLEASE HELP!

-Jess
