National Visa Center (Dept of State)	Any updates or cases closed for june filers AOS and DS-230	Just wondered if any of your cases were moving along ? We sent of our DS-230 and AOS the last week of may... on the 16th of june got a checklist from the NVC for my birthcerteficate. NVC recieved my package on the 28th of June, i've been calling in every week to check but they haven't even opened the mail yet!!! It has been 6 weeks now... National Visa Center (Dept of State)	RFE for birth cert...Now how long?	Not to get your hopes down, but we got the same checklist...NVC received our new birthcert. on the 28th of june and it took them 6 weeks and 2 days to complete our case. We now have an interview date for september 7th. I hope for you now that the summer vacation is nearly over things are speeding up again at the NVC...but i think it's gonna be an October interview . K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Sent of I-130 in June, but still no notice of action	Our I-130 package was sent of at the end of june and they signed for delivery on the 1st of July. Now almost 3 moths later we still haven't recieved our notice of action so we can send of the I-129F... Is this timeline normal ? Can anybody help me with information, or does anybody now where i can turn too for information regarding this ? K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Is the I-129f needed???	Im american military in afghanistan and my wife is filipino living in the philippines. We were married in the philippines in feb. 2010 and we want to get her visa issued by the time i leave afghanistan so she can come straight to the states. Im so confused about this whole k-3 visa process... Do i need to submit both the I-130 and the I-129f? Because from what it sounds like is that the I-130 is for immigrants and the I-129f is for non-immigrants.. but everywere I look for instructions on what to do says that you you have to file both? Any help or past experience would be appreciated.. We started our K3 process last year, we submitted both our I-130 and The I-129f... Our I-130 petition was approved when the I-129f petition was still pending. When this happens you automatically go from the K3 route to the IR-1 CR-1 route. And it says in your detalis that you are filing for IR-1 CR-1 not the K3. So for this visa you do not have to submit the I-129f. Read the guides for the IR-1,CR-1... US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	prams/strollers inside embassy	Hi all, me and my year old son will be appearing for our ir1 interview at the islamabad embassy on the 17th of this month insha'Allah...Just wanted some feedback on if anyone has had any experience of taking prams/strollers inside the embassy in islamabad? Are they allowed inside the embassy?Also, will they allow you to take baby food/diaper bag inside with you? Thanks p.s. i didnt get any response on this from the embassy forum...so posting it here... Hey aui2010, I have no idea about the US Embassy in Islamabad... but i can tell you about my experience in the USE here in Belgium... I think all the USE will have a general security policy... So we had to go to the Embassy to report the birth of our daughter last year and we were not able to take any food/diaper bag beyond security. When my daughter needed to be fed we had to go back to the secure area to feed her there... (cold milk...), but we were allowed to grab a diaper and change her in the bathroom of the Embassy. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Worried!!	Arrrrrrrrr Just my point!! I have been waiting because of what I read online about authorisaion from the NVC first!! I'm fuming now because we have everything ready!! I kow how you are feeling( i'm still mad about it ), but just call up the NVC and get confimation that you can send it off now. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Worried!!	What instruction packet are you talking about ? For the AOS ? We never recieved an instruction packet for anything. We had paid our bills in februari and i was getting really worried come may when we still hadn't recieved any news or anything. We called up the NVC and they told us as soon as soon as NVC recieves your bills you can go ahead and send the AOS and DS-230 package ( so why the ****does it say don't take any further actions without notifaction of the NVC). Wasted almost 2 months and a half waiting for package/news!!!! So we assembled our own packet, information on www.immigrantvisas.state.gov I would say call up NVC asap and ask them what is going on ( NVC :001 603 334 0700) hope this helps	Marijke	Female	Belgium	2010-08-15 12:32:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Wife is pregnant, how do they look at this?	I don't think there will be a problem as long as she can establish that there is a legit relationship/ marriage. How far along is your wife and are you sure she is going to be in the states before the delivery ??? Our daughter was born in the middle of our visa process, 2 weeks after she was born we had to file a consular report of birth abroad at the Embassy. 2 weeks later we got her US passport and birthcertificate in the mail ( wish it was that easy for me!). IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Marriage certificate or Extract from marriage registration?	When i sent in my DS-230 my package contained our marriage certificate + translation. I got a checklist a few weeks later from NVC saying that my mariage cert. was not original or a certified copy....tssss ( sent in the same thing with the I-130 never got any complaints on that one ). So i sent them another mariage cert.+ translation and an extract from the mariage registers...the international one. Result case completed... If i was you i would send in both to be sure! IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Waiting time for mail sent to NVC	Ok so my husband and i sent his affidavit of support and my DS-230 off to the NVC the last week of May, they recieved the package on the 3rd of june and on the 16 th of June i recieved an email (so it took them only 2 weeks to review the entire package and send me an email). The email ( checklist) said that my birth certeficate was not a certified copy. (It was but im not gonna discuss that any further, they had the last word...). So the day after on the 17th mailed of a new signed and stamped birth certeficate + translation + international birth certeficate and the NVC recieved it on the 28th of june. Now it's already August and they still haven't even opened my mail ??!!! I don't understand , they could process an entire package in 2 weeks and for 3 pages no news after 6 weeks ? Is this normal ? did anyone else send mail in to the NVC in May,June and still waiting on news ? I'm just getting frustrated, this thing has been taking forever ( 1,5 y)and i was hoping to be with my husband before our little girl turns 1 in september, but i'm slowly losing faith. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Confused about sending forms after application.	After completing and sending the initial package of forms, proofs, documentation for a IR-1, CR-1 Spousal Visa application for my Kenyan Wife. I am confused as to the subsequent forms that are requested..are they sent to me, the U.S. Citizen in the USA, or to my Wife in Kenya? I know for a fiancee visa the foreign fiancee gets a "packet" from the local to her US Consulate/Embassy, and I would have to send my proof of income to her to submit along with her medical at the interview. But what about the IR-1, CR-1 Spousal Visa, does she not get a packet local to her? Do I get everything, and then have to send things to her to fill out? The guide here is just not clear to me. I (the beneficiary) never received any package with papers to fill in during this whole process, neither did my husband! We waisted a lot of precious time waiting for instructions/ packages during this journey. I would say read the IR-1, CR-1 guides and start gathering and assembling everything so you have it all ready when your I-130 petition is approved! National Visa Center (Dept of State)	NVC - When They Process Docs & When They Just Forward to Embassy	I noticed reading through some threads and looking at some timelines that when the NVC receives the applications they collect the fees and either: 1) Send out all of the packet information, collect the documents and then forward to the embassy when the file is complete (normal) or 2) They just send the application to the embassy and the embassy sends out the packets and you bring the information to the interview This would explain why some people complete the NVC process in a few days and others take a couple of months. Does anyone know why and under what situation it gets forwarded directly to the embassy? I am wondering if my process will be like #2 since we both live in Belgium. My I-130 approval timeline was completely different at the USCIS because of this (11 days vs. ~5 months) so maybe the NVC process will be different as well. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Wife changed name after NOA 2 Approval!	The documents will be in her maiden name. The police letter can be in the name shown on her NOA 1 or 2. She can present her new Thai I D to show them what her married name is. She should get a new Thai I D in her married name. Then use that & the other needed docs to get her passport in that name. This is exactly what my husband had me do. Doing this helped me in many ways at that time & after I came to the USA. Having those new docs will result in the visa placed in her new passport which will end the drama. Until then she will have to explain what happened a few times but its not a big deal. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Wife changed name after NOA 2 Approval!	After my wife found out she was approved on her NOA 2 she changed her name to our family / married name as this is what we had planned to do. I just did not want her to do this until we were completly through the process! NVC has not received the application yet as it is still in transit. We still need to get some documents like the Police certificate, medical etc and it would be under her name and this won't match everything else. What should we do? Just not pay the NVC fees and cancel? Do we have to refile the I-130 application or can I just show the name change certificate? You should be able to request a police clearance certificate by just giving them your information and the reason why you are requesting it, as this document says: travel.state.gov/pdf/pk3_supplements/BRS-PK3-MULT-0711.pdf EDIT: Oops, or are you trying to get the police clearance from Thailand? IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	NVC - Police Certificates and DS-230 Part 2 (Belgium)	I have been trying to research this topic but keep getting conflicting information. I am currently at the beginning of the NVC stage applying from Belgium and trying to understand the following: 1) Does the police certificate get submitted to the NVC or do you only need to bring it to the interview? I need the packet 3 cover letter to get a police certificate so if I only need it for the interview it won't slow down my process as we can get it while I am waiting for the interview date. If I need if for the NVC it potentially delays my processing. 2) Do I need to submit DS-230 part 1 & 2 to the NVC or only part 1 and then bring part 2 to the interview? On the following web link it clearly states I don't need to send originals to the NVC and only DS-230 part 1 but maybe it is obsolete or incorrect: http://usinfo.org/en...applying_in.pdf A lot of other websites say you do need to submit all originals including police certificates to the NVC. Then someone on a forum that recently went through Belgium for a K1 visa said he never sent it to the NVC and only had to show it at the interview.
