I'm a May filer so don't feel like I can be too pushy yet, but I'm collecting tips just in case I get desperate Congratulations and best of luck on the rest of this wonderfully efficient process! Ktjett, I basically told them it had taken four months to be approved and now I've been sitting in the mailroom for weeks. I compared myself to a VSC filer who would have already had their SO in the USA. Honestly, she didn't seem to care too much just as long as she understood the sob story and could repeat it as needed. I was expecting, 'You're still within timeframes' type of thing, but I was lucky to get the opposite. Let's hope the same is true for getting a quick interview. Since your May, I'd still suggest contacting them as though you anticipate further problems and you want to know your options. Now that my fiance's back in the US, he called NVC, but no, they don't have our petition yet. It has been 22 days...awww I'm so envious of you now!! How did you contact your congressman? Welcome back rambaldi. I was trying to follow in your footsteps with the original April thread. I just lost interest in anything but post-NOA2 info, that's four months I'm glad are behind me. To find my congressman I just did a google search. After I found his website, I called his local office and just told them the issue. They gave me there visa person and within no time the wheels were turning. I'm just upset I didn't call earlier. My fiance just called me that he just called again and somebody was there to attend to his query but then the lady told him that our case is with a representative and we will have to wait for another 30 days until we hear any progress. And as i see we are perfectly on the same timeline since we also sent our 129F petition on the same day you sent yours and everything just the fell on exact day as yours except the date of approval which we are hoping to get soon but as said the lady just informed us about that sad notice. But we will keep calling, we are keeping the faith. Patience is a virtue indeed. Thanks again. Don't worry, it will happen soon. I'm almost sure I know who you spoke with, she's a real ^$*(&%. Jessel Chris - That's awesome! You just pulled a sweet move, congrats on your approval. To call NVC - 603 334-0700, then hit 1 and then 5. I have finally graduated to the big kids thread ... i called today to check on my case status (since it still says pending online).. and it was APPROVED!! NOA2 finally!! I asked her how long it would take to get to NVC, and she said that they wait and send them in batches... so either this week or next week they will have it... *keeping my fingers crossed* Congrats and welcome to the club! We filed ours last April 16, 2007 and until now we are dying to have our NOA2 on hand. Per information from the USCIS web site our case has been updated last August 13 and we are fervently hoping that we will have our approval notice next week. Not too shabby. That would mean they had it probably within 10 days at the most. I'd be interested in knowing when they send to Manila to judge that timeline. We hope we're not too far behind. Deron I'm really wanting to know when yours gets the interview, are you calling or is she? I'll be calling to set the appointment, I'm also very curious as to our wait time. I wrote to the Ukraine member that just got a 9-26 interview, the timeline was updated only yesterday so I'm hoping they just called. I'll let you know. I was also told by a member who just got their Visa in Ukraine to call immediately after getting the KEV#, he got their appointment in about 45 days NOA2 to Interview. So, I called USCIS today to see if my case had finally been sent to NVC. She said no but that she was going to send over a request right away to get it moving. I asked if it was reasonable to expect shipment today, she said yes. So I urge everyone who hasn't gotten to NVC yet, which is all NOA2's in August minus one thus far, to call using the RFE trick. The 26th...was that Huskerkiev? If so he called and re-scheduled early last week. It was originally set for October 3rd. He lost some time inbetween so they're running about 45-50+ out as of a couple weeks ago. It was actually queball, his fiance called mid July and got a late September interview. Saludos, Caro Congrats on Packet 3, hopefully you will get a quick interview date as well. As to the question about a NVC website, they have none. You also will not get touches in the process, the only way to find out if you've been received/sent is to call. The number is on the K-1 Flowchart in the Guides section. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	April Filers - NVC to Interview	The April forum is getting quite large and the majority is centered around waiting for the NOA2, touches, RFE's, processing times, and the like. For those who have received their NOA2, let's use this as a forum to discuss NVC, getting the interview date, and the final showdown. March filers did a similar forum and it's quite useful. As for me I'm still not at NVC, nor are most people recently approved as far as I can tell according to the expanded immigration timelines. According to CSC today my application had left the reviewer and was now in the staging area. I think that most of us approved in the last week or so are sitting in the same staging area. FYI all, my status updated today to approved. Even though my NOA2 was on 8/2, I just got the CRIS email today. The status said my notice was sent on Friday. So, it took one day to show the touch for approval and for the NOA2 hardcopy, and 2-3 business days to get notice of approval. It's about damn time!! so happy for you!! YAY!! Hope we get to NVC real quick now! Thank you my friend, and I thank all of those who have expressed their congratulations to me. As I read these posts I sympathize and understand the feelings everyone is expressing. I have felt a myriad of them myself over the near 4 months it took to get my approval. It is tough on the relationship, it preoccupies one's mind, and the inefficient process is overwhelming. However, the fact is that 95% of us will be handled in a relatively consistent and straightforward manner. Our time will come, nothing is certain in life, but this process, while cumbersome, will yield results for the vast majority of us, and it will do so in a semi-predictable fashion. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	APRIL Filers!!	So I called USCIS yesterday using the RFE trick, however this time I proceeded as though I didn't have my receipt number. This led me to a different call center than CSC. The first person I spoke to had to be new, but after a few minutes of run around he agreed to escalate my call. I was excited at the prospects, but as usual I was dissapointed with the results, though I did find it more useful than talking to that one woman at CSC. Anyway, I kept waiting for the 'double touch' as a result of my call. I never saw it change to 8/2 but when I checked this AM it said 8/3. I'm cautiously optimistic yet scared to be hopeful that maybe our case was finally assigned. Also, I said I'd report back on my NVC email, after one week I've gotten no reply. Come on Super NOA2 Friday...no whammy no whammy no whammy! APPROVED!!! After the touch I had to call. I got a cool guy at CSC and I simply asked, "My case was touched and I want to know if I've been assigned or better yet approved?" Almost immediately he congratulated me and told me I had been approved yesterday. I called my girl right away and we are both ecstatic of course. It's been a tough last month on us, it's nice to finally be through this phase. With the consistency they've shown the past couple of weeks, it should be no time until this thread becomes all about NVC and interviews. She's a Peace Corps Volunteer in St. Vincent. She said that she thinks that I should call to find out about the progress of our case. I am kinda skeptical about that bcos I suspect that they may bring up some privacy issues regardless of the fact that I'm the beneficiary. Do you guys think that it's worth it for me to call CSC, or will I just be wasting my time? Thanks for the congrats. My suggestion is absolutely to call. You are the beneficiary and therefore have the right to do so, hopefully you will also be informed that you are approved. Good luck! Well, I just called and the guy who answered said that they cannot provide information to anyone apart from the petitioner. I told him that from listening to the recording at the prompt, it said that either the petitioner or the applicant is allowed to call. He said that since I'm the beneficiary, he could not provide me with any information. So I guess Mel will have to find a way to call them. I'll be calling her in a while... That's too bad, but at least you'll find out soon. True... At least now I know for sure that I shouldn't call... lol. Thanks anyway man!!! Oh too bad! It'll be my 4th month by the 12th so it would be a great blessing to get it before that date... So far 18 April filers have been approved this week. That's amazing. I know it's frustrating that your not one of them, But 18 still. CSC is really cranking them out now. Hold tight, it's a coming!!!! Wioombeen Not only 18 this week, but no RFE's that I am aware of for weeks. I think that they are far enough behind that if the app is even close to complete they're going to approve it and approve it with only a quick review. Anyway, I kept waiting for the 'double touch' as a result of my call. I never saw it change to 8/2 but when I checked this AM it said 8/3. I'm cautiously optimistic yet scared to be hopeful that maybe our case was finally assigned. Also, I said I'd report back on my NVC email, after one week I've gotten no reply. ((insert kicking and pounding on floor emoticon here)) Where the heck is the rest of ours????? It's VSC, which should really have their own K-1 progress forum. There are 3 non-VSC May filers with NOA2's according to the immigration timelines. One sent the app in January, one on March 1st, and one received expedited processing. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	APRIL Filers!!	I just called using the RFE trick. I've tried not to for two weeks but I figured I've been patient enough. I got an Indian lady that I had talked to a few weeks before. Besides poor english skills, whe was a complete b$%&h and only begrudgingly checked to see if I had been assigned. She told me this wasn't going to expedite anything and that I couldn't call back for a month. This was after she realized I hadn't called for two weeks and I mentioned that I've seen people with NOA1's after mine get approved. Can you believe the nerve...If you get the woman with the indian accent, I suggest just hanging up and trying again later. So sorry to hear that Deron, my fiance called on the 10th and got a very nice, sympathetic guy. He told him that our case was not assigned at that time, and that we should be patient, they will get to us soon. You should call again! So you didn't find out at all whether your case has been assigned then huh? She actually told me it hadn't been assigned yet, which is of course a dissapointment. A touch just came through for me a few minutes ago, but I'm almost certain it's a result of the call. I think I'll take your advice and call again....However, just in case there is an issue with reporting, I've decided to try NVC and see if they've received the case. And you also have those that might have gotten notice in some form today but didn't immediately put it on VJ. At least that's my rationalization for not being willing to believe that CSC could even consider going into hybernation again... I've also noticed that if you sort by NOA1 date and CSC, almost everyone before 4/6 has now been approved. This is the first week I've been catiously optimistic in a while. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	APRIL Filers!!	Again I want to reiterate, I HATE THOSE MF"N SPAM EMAILS WITH THE WORD APPROVAL IN THEM. I have my yahoo messenger always on so when I get an email it pops up a little message tab on the lower right of my screen. Like 10 times now I have received an email that says APPROVAL in title and it always makes my heart skip. Especially the ones that are from a credit card company, so they say "YOUR VISA HAS BEEN APPROVED" GAH HAHAHA Wiombeen. I would seriously not even open them. As soon as you see a title a mail from CRIS saying "Case status Information" thats what your looking out for. Yeha I know haha. I just saying i hate those other spams. Cause they make my heart flutter for a brief second no matter what haha. I am so jacked up to see that "CRIS" that anything saying approval on it makes me briefly explode hahah wioombeen Clever post, I like the SW titles. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	APRIL Filers!!	Oh please let it be......seriously, please!!! Oh wow Deron, you were touched 14/07? On a Saturday? Yeah the standard one call (RFE method btw) two touch system. You get one the day of and one the day after....usually. CSC and this entire process is such a joke... Bring us your tired, your weak...hah, as a citizen today if one wants to MARRY someone that isn't a citizen, you get to to enjoy the elongated debacle. American's don't have enough children to propagate our society, only 1.9 per 2 adults. It is our immigration solely that contributes to the increase in our population. Immigration based on marriage = disproportionate increase in resulting children / new taxpayers. Plus, those in this process have the advantage of international experience, business or personal, something that is no doubt statistically related to an 'above average contributor' to society many ways. This k-1 process is not a shining star of our government bureaucracy nor is it a reflection of our collective interests. I'm disappointed not only for myself or my fellow VJ'ers. This week or month may or may not be ours, and life will go on regardless, but we should all hope that those that follow us do not share our dismal experience. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	APRIL Filers!!	I hadn't called CSC since Monday so I decided to try again today. My case still hasn't been assigned. I asked what the heck is happening lately, why timelines have been extended by a month and only two approvals have came out this month. She informed me that they are having SERIOUS computer problems. She tried to give me the December line but I told her about VJ and that how most were being approved, up until recently, in 80-90 days. She informed me that those days are long gone. So I default to wioombeen's advice and I take solice in knowing that I am so lucky to be with the one I love, a few extra weeks (or months) or separation are trivial. Congrats on the NOA2 from VSC thesparrow, you are one of the lucky ones. Have a good weekend all and let's hope and pray that CSC will end it's month+ long vacation next week. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	APRIL Filers!!	Deron, you are right! I've never noticed it before, but those April filers who already have NOA2s sent in their apps in March! But they got their NOA1s in April, so technically they're still considered April filers right? Anyhoooo, I'm also in the same boat of waiting and frustration, I got my NOA1 on April 10, you got yours April 11, and Wioombeen got his April 9. Hopefully we all get approved pretty soon....tomorrow, perhaps!! I just checked, we got touched again today, but we didn't call today, so this might just be the real touch, right, right, right?? COME ON NOW, CSC!!! Rambaldi, Let's hope for all of our sake that was a legit touch.... I think that technically the NOA1 determines if your an April filer, however I've noticed that the send date has as much to do with adjudication time as any. For example, if you look at those that were approved, from NOA1 to NOA2, in a short period of time, many times you'll see that it took quite a while for them to get their NOA1. The dates seem pretty consistent from mailing to NOA2, but again this isn't scientific just a result of combing the timelines way too much. I'm in the opposite boat and concerned as my NOA1 took only one day to be issued. If you and wioombeen get approved quite a bit before I do, that would potentially be proof that I am right about the mailing date being relevant. Oh please let me be wrong.... Go CSC go!!!!
