US Citizenship General DiscussionHelp with calculating number of days based on 3 year eligibility (N400 Part 7A)

I will file based on the 3 year eligibility (married to a USC). My anniversary is February 2014, so I should be eligible to apply in November 2013. I have 3 questions:

 

1. When I count the number of days spent outside the US (Part 7A), I believe that I should consider only the last 3 years (not 5 as it says), right?

 

2. If I apply in November 2013, should I count the number of days spent outside the US from November 2010 till November 2013 (based on submission date), or from February 2011 till February 2014 (based on anniversary date)?

 

3. I am planning to travel during next year, so I might decide to file N400 after I return from my trip, say August 2014. In this case should I count the number of days spent outside the US during the 3 years prior to my application date, i.e. from August 2011 till August 2014? Or from February 2011 till August 2014?

2.In what month do we vote for President? 3.Who is the Chief Justice of the United States now? 4.We elect a U.S. Representative for how many years? 5.The House of Representatives has how many voting members? 6.Who is the father of the country? Writing: Washington was the first president Reading: Who is George Washington?

this is my first post here... been checking the website out for years since 2010... 
 
im curious if there's November 2013 filers that filed in Baltimore? seems like it's backed up? called on the 89th day (i thought i might have lost the mail) and was told that "baltimore office is backed up" and no further assistant. as of today it's been over 90 days (100 days exact) and I still haven't gotten my interview notification, though on the USCIS case status, it is indicating as "testing and interviewing." gave USCIS a call on the 800 number and had a case open, but it'll take up to 2 weeks until i hear back from anyone... anybody has similar experience here?

My field office is Baltimore too and I think they interview people who applied in October 2013 actually . In my case this is 120 days I'm waiting the interview letter I know it's suck but we cannot do nothing than being patient.

My wife did the interview today.  She was really anxious, but it all went fine.  The interviewer was a young caucasian woman with a serious demeanor who Sol said was very nice, and  didn't bother looking at anything she brought with her other than her pasport and (I think) our son's passport.  Sol told me that the interviewer had everything we had sent with the application in front of her, even pictures of us together.  It seems like because our application was so front-loaded, there wasn't much left to do other than the civics and writing test.  The interviewer basically asked her leading questions, such as 'the trip you took out of the country last year was more than 30 days, right?' Sol answered yes (it was about 38 days).  Another example of this (and there were several) is, 'you work at O*****y, right?' which was also correct.  Nothing tricky, just the basics.  She wasn't asked to name my ex-wives, she just read off the names, and asked Sol if she's met my previous wife.

 

The writing test - if you could call it that! - was for the interviewer to state that 'we pay taxes to the government.'  Sol was asked to write only 'We pay taxes.'

 

The civics questions were:

 

1) When was the Constitution written = 1787

2) What ocean is on the east coast of the U.S. = Atlantic

3) How many U.S. senators are there = 100

4) What is freedom of religion = you may practice any religion or no religion

5) What age do you have to be to vote = 18

6) Name a state that borders Canada = Pennsylvania

 

She was told she passed, given what I guess is the standard paper at the end, and told to look for a letter for the naturalization ceremony.

 

All in all, a good experience.  They were a full hour late, and our nearly 5 year old was getting difficult.  Apparently, they were also having computer troubles, as my wife said that the interviewer had to call in to have her file updated while she was there in the interview room, since she couldn't pull it up due to the computer troubles (this had also been the case earlier at the window, when they had to do her two index fingers 3 times due to glitchy computers).  I think Sol was in there for just over 20 minutes, and apparently it would have been less than 10 if not for the interviewer having to make that phone call!

 

So now, we await the oath ceremony letter....

Do u guys sign the N 400 form? or it has to be signed in the interview?

 

If I remember you have to sign part 11 and part 14 you will sign it at the end of your interview.

Hello friends I would want just to share an information with you. On Friday I was for a course of preparation for the citizenship and the instructor has us formless that from January first, 2014 the Form N-400 will have 10 pages more thus for those who will fill their appliquation from January will fill 20 pages instead of 10. And the 6 questions on 10 of civics than they ask us  during the interview are drawn lots all the beginning of each month and are the same in every State. So it was an information which I wanted to share with you. Kiss

That's a function of where you reside. You need to check CVS and also try Walgreen. Just make sure they are familiar with it and even yourself with the photo requirements.
