For applicants in the Philippines, NBI clearance is the only one being required. But if you ever stayed outside the country for more than 6months, then you also need a police clearance from that country.

Thanks for the info. :)

Our lawyer said that we just need to send NBI (National Bureau of Investigation) clearance and no need for local police clearance, is this correct? From what I have been reading there is a need for police clearance or we need to send both NBI and local police clearance?

Just got an email notice today that our case was transferred. NOA1 is April 4 but we don't know our priority date though because we did not receive a hard copy.

I'm doubt a petitioner can just 'request' to have the file transferred. They have a procedure. So if this month they're forwarding - they're forwarding them all, if next month they're doing it in a centralized way (and the field offices are also notified they're not getting any more petitions) - probably, they won't send it over just for you.

How about if we ask help from the Congressman or Senator. Can they assist us in transferring our file to the local field office?

You kind of do, just a little bit. If you look here and select your office. It's only up to June now and such but still, you know?

Our local field office is at Anchorage and it seems that the number of applicants in this office is not that high. Just wondering if we can get a faster approval if our file will be sent there although yeah I am also worried that it might take us longer instead of faster.

Hi Friends,

Found some interesting statistics about the various USCIS field offices. Please check out this link. It gives us some hope at least. Please post your thoughts as well....

Hi, I am also April filer, and we are still waiting for the approval. I am wondering if it would be best to just request for our file to be transferred to our local field office. Would that help in speeding up the process?
