They said they think he has TB. He hasnt gotten the visa yet but we've been approved. in august we'll know if he has it or not.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionMedical question

MY husband went and did his medical, when he went they told him he has an infection in his lungs. We had to go back three more times as ordered. They told him he has to wait until august for the results. We've already been approved my question is,What happens now? IF he does have an infection will that delay time for leaving? Will he have to go though treatment before leaving? Can they take his visa away from him for that?

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionMedical/visa question?

So, my husband has to wait until august sometime for the results of his medical. He may or may not have to stay for treatment. MY question is Do i have to stay here in his country for  the results of his medical? my husband is paranoid if i leave they will give us another interview. (we've been approved just waiting for the medical so we can give it to the embassy a long with his passport) DO i have to stay here to go with him to give the embassy his medical and passport? Do i have to be with him at POE?

I'm leaving on the 23rd of this month.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionI'm beyond words right now..

So 7 weeks and nothing has changed. Im losing all hope for my husband actually coming here with me.

They said we are in administrative processing, is it because of his medical? (they thought they saw an infection in his lungs but was negative for TB) They told us to wait 4-6 weeks were going on 8 weeks this week waiting for the Us embassy to get things rolling. I called the visa specialist. NOTHING, ive tried contacting my senate and nothing. I'm working on getting a hold of my congressman. Im tired of waiting for the stupid US embassy. I'm frankly pissed off with all of this. It's not fair...

I shoulda never left dominican republic.... ugh

anyways this is more of a rant than questions but have you been in administrative processing? How long did you have to wait? or still waiting?

Hello everyone!

I have a question about the Bonifide marriage section of this.

My fiance lives in Dominican Republic, and i live in the United states. We dont have any bonifide anything together, if that makes sense. We do want a child, and im currently in Dominican Republic, Could we get a something here to prove we own something together? Im not sure how to ask this sorry for the lame and long question.

Also, what other types of (Any other relevant documentation to establish that thereis an ongoing marital union.) could we use?

What would happen if we dont have anything with our names both on? (because he isnt in the united states)

(Heres what it says on the forum for this part if you need to read it )

Note: Evidence of a Bonifide Marriage
The USCIS now requires that when filing an I-130 for a spouse that you include evidence of a bonifide marriage. They list examples of acceptable evidence as:
1. Documentation showing joint ownership or property; or
2. A lease showing joint tenancy of a common residence; or
3. Documentation showing co-mingling of financialresources; or
4. Birth certificate(s) of child(ren) born to you, thepetitioner, and your spouse together; or
5. Affidavits sworn to or affirmed by third parties havingpersonal knowledge of the bona fides of the maritalrelationship (Each affidavit must contain the full nameand address, date and place of birth of the person makingthe affidavit, his or her relationship to the petitioner ofbeneficiary, if any, and complete information and detailsexplaining how the person acquired his or herknowledge of your marriage); or
6. Any other relevant documentation to establish that thereis an ongoing marital union.

UPDATE I JUST FOUND OUT THAT WE CAN USE OUR MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE THANKS ANYWAYS!!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresJoint bank account?
My fiance and i went to BanReservas they said that i couldnt get a joint bank account with my fiance because im American. They asked if i had my passport and id though, which i dont understand since im american it shouldnt matter whether or not i have my passport and id. So my fiance asked them if there was any other options that we could do, they asked him if he had a debit card from them he said yes, and they said well you have to bring TWO people that knows the both of you to sign as well, then we can add her name to your card. She also said we couldnt use the card up to a year which is also ridiculous.

So my question is, will it still be a joint account if its like that?
and could we still use that as proof even though we can use it for a year?

We still havent done it because i wanted to ask on here.

Thanks

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresGot some questions for you :)

1. What kind of visa are you applying for? We applied for IR-1/CR-1 and we were not asked to write a "cover letter" of any sort. There was a cover letter addressed to us by the NVC that needs to be attached to the AOS (Affidavit of Support) and IV (Immigrant Visa) Packets but they send that to us thru email.

2. Your beneficiary's birth certificate is CRITICAL. It has to be original and sealed by the Census office in her country. If you send photocopies, they would still require you to produce original copies during the interview.

3. If you were naturalized, you need to show your social security card as well as your american passport.

4. Where did you get married and where did you apply for a marriage certificate? If it's outside US, you need to have your copy translated by a legit office accepted or endorsed by the US Embassy and have it notarized.

5. If you're a naturalized american, then yes, it is your nationality! abt your dad, if you only know his name then write it down.

Im just going by what it says on the step by step guide for the I-130 here http://www.visajourn...tent/i130guide1
the second part says cover letter. I didnt know they send it to you because its before the I-130

2. Cover Letter. Should include a description of what your are petitioning for (I-130), a table of contents (list everything in the packet). If you need additional room to explain your case, attach a separate sheet (list the attachment on the cover sheet). Make sure to sign and date the cover sheet.
3. Form I-130: Petition for Alien Relative

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresGot some questions for you :)

Hey! I'm going to send you my cover letter later today, sorry to be so slow on that. It has a checklist of everything I included. In the meantime, in regards to the info about your dad, if you don't know something, make sure you write "UNKNOWN" in the space. Never leave anything blank!

In regards to the translation of the marriage certificate, we had ours translated in the DR (cheap and fast!), but when we came back to the US, some people/agencies wouldn't accept that translation. For example, the Social Security office would accept it...but the DMV wouldn't. Go figure. So you might have to get it translated again when you get here anyway.

Thank you! this helped alot!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresGot some questions for you :)
Hi everyone! :)

(Sorry in advance if these questions are stupid, but its my only way to learn)

1. Is the cover letter example (Cover Letter for I-129F) the same for the CR1?
Or is the CR1 totally different from that one. I want a cover letter example for the CR1.
Does visajourney have one if its not the same as the 129f¿

2. Also, i didn´t see if i needed my fiances birth certificate copied as well as mine? Is it okay if i still copy it?

3. (A copy of petitioner's proof of naturalization. (If applicable) does that mean my birth certificate or social security card?

4. (A copy of your marriage certificate (If not inEnglish then again get a translation)-- Where can i translate mine (when i get married)? Omaha nebraska or Dominican Republic?

5. I was looking at the G-325A form and for the nationality i just put american right? Since i dont know anything about my dad do i still have to put his name down on the paper as well?
Posted Image
The circled part since ill be filling for the CR1 i just put I-CR1 instead of the 129? My fiance has to fill the paper out as well right?

6. Is this section of the intructions one whole packet?

Hey everyone!

Thanks for taking the time to read my question.

I understand that my husband and i will have to get our marriage certificate translated from Spanish to English. I was wondering where in Omaha Nebraska can i get it translated. Like what type of places. Is there a certain business that's nationwide? Any suggestions? Sorry if it doesn't make sense.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresBad record?
Hi everyone! Maybe nobody will read this right now considering its 120 am here. Well anyways

I was wondering since i have a theft charge on my record would that disqualify us (my husband and i) being able to bring him to the united states from Dominican Republic?

I paid the find that i got it wasn't a felony it was a misdemeanor. And i dont want people telling me how stupid i was for doing that or am because i did that. I totally understand what i did was absolutely wrong, and theres no way in h e double hockey sticks id do it again. But what i really need to know is do i need to take it off my record before i can or is it okay? (okay to be on there as in it wont effect anything during the process)

Sorry if this makes no sense.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHow much money do i have to make a year to bring my husband to the states?

The standard reply will be that you need 125% above the poverty line, blah, blah. But what does that really mean??

It does not mean peace, love and happiness. Just like "minimum wage" will not provide you a nice life in the USA.

So, we need to look at ourself in the mirror and have a reality check.

When our foreign spouse is flying on that Boeing 747 into our arms, we really need to have $10K CASH in the bank, to be able to know we are ready for that person.

Yes, I stand by that amount and will take on any challengers questioning it.

Everything is SO expensive here, and preparing for the AOS and ROC ain't cheap. When we go out to dinner and movie and mall, we must pay for two, and the $$ goes OH! so fast.....

We know you will be ready, too.

Peace.
