Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)Yes...oops Sorry....212G!!!

Most Ap is resolved in 2 months
then 4-5 months
then a few unlucky name hits last a LONG time

So hang in there. It will be a very stressful and painful time. Talk to him daily and keep reminding each other the end of AP will come.

You can call DOS
202-663-1225
press 1 then press 0 to speak to someone

Ask them for case status updates weekly to see if he is in
MANDATORY AP or Internal AP(I think that is the name)If it is mandatory then it is name and background checks and if it is internal then the embassy is doing the background or paperwork review.

Good Luck

Thanks, Salman

Hang in there Salmani...I am doing a CR1 visa...which is an immigrant visa...and my husband was approved for his visa and still put in AP...he is in Jordan...and we are still waiting... it has been 3 months... they say the average time for AP is up to 5 months... this does NOT mean you will be waiting this long... but this is something we can't control... so try and relax... read, read read... all the info you can about how the system works...and stick with this site... it is a good place for support while you are waiting... you WILL get through this!

Thanks for the feedback! I hope it is not six months as in your case reading your timeline. I had never heard of Administrative Processing. Maybe getting married and filing for the greencard was a better option, right now, I have to be patient and pray..

I did DCF through Tunisia about 2 years ago. The consul told me that since there are a high instance of fraud cases that they are super thorough. Just an FYI, I hope everything works out :)

Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)221G Administrative Processing Tunisia
Hello all,

What is the average wait time for Administrative process in Tunisia, my fiance had her interview on Feb 23rd, and she was given 221G, Administrative Processing.

I have already contacted DOS number and they have advised to check every week for the update. I am planning to get in touch with my senator and congressman after 30 days as per my lawyers advise I must wait for now and give time for the process to complete.

Very stressed with current situation can someone shed some light on timelines for AP in Tunis.

Thanks!

Happy Holidays!

It has been over three months since the invterview of my fiancee in Tunis consluate, so far what I know from calling DOS and the consulate in Tunis is that the case is in Admin
Processing in Washington. Please advise if I need to reach out to my congresman/senator now to get an update or just wait more before reaching out to congressman/senator.

It has been very difficult and long three months. Any advise and help is much appreciated.

Thanks,

Salman

It says for non immigrant visa, is that same as K-1 visa.

I am planning to visit Tunis next month, would that make any difference to the AP, would it delay AP in any way...

Thanks Salman

I checked the USA embassy Tunisa website and you do not have one on the site

Some countries have a website to check AP and some don't.

And some, Like Egypt have it but it doesn't work. My case still says in AP processing and my husband is in the USA.

Thanks! wish you best of luck....

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsFianally K1 Visa Approved
Thanks everyone for the wishes and to answer yes they gave the reason for delay and I provided clarification on my behalf. I am happy everything worked out but I must admit it is a challenging process to say the least, I had no idea that it would take over 15 months to get the K1 visa, I choose the K1 path as I thought it would be faster than getting married. It is something to think about for other couple considering their options.

Have a fantastic weekend!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsFianally K1 Visa Approved
After Admin processing for 221 days finally K1 Visa approved for my fiancee today at Tunis consulate. My congressman in Texas was instrumental in helping us get updates from the Tunis consulate. This was one the most trying few months for us and I am happy the nightmare is over, my advice is to be persistent during the admin processing. I kept calling Tunis consulate, congressman and DOS of state regularly and sent emails to Tunis consulate requesting for updates.

The irony is when they finally sent me the email on 9/05/12, I missed the email due high volume of emails coming to my inbox and when I called the DOS on Monday, I was informed that my fiance needs to take the passport at the consulate which she did on Tuesday but she could not get through the security due to the unfortunate incidents of 9/14, I wrote another email to the consulate and they asked her to come to the consulate at10 am today, she had the visa in her hand in 2 hours.

Tunis consular staff was very professional in handling the visa petition and doing their due diligence.

This site has been fundamental for in understanding what Admin Processing is and how to deal with our situation...

Have a good night.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAOS Jan 2013
What a fantastic end to 2012 and incredible start to2013. It has been a while since I logged on to VisaJourney. I have been so busywith bringing my fiancé to USA and getting married. Once we got the great newsthe visa has been issued by US consulate in Tunis, we found out that she needsto travel to USA prior Nov 12, I went to Tunis on 11-3-12 to bring my lovelywife back to USA, we came back to USA on 11-5-12, we were so worried thatimmigration at JFK might give my fiancé some hard time since her first name is Jihedbut we were pleasantly surprised that immigration officer was very nice and theonly question she asked her was when are we getting married and she welcomedher to USA.

We got married on 11/9 in a mosque and the reception wason 11/10 in a Turkish restaurant. It was not a very big ceremony but most of myclose family, friends and colleagues were invited and most importantly we had afantastic time.

I filed for AOS in January 2013 and waiting forBiometrics and work permit.

2012 started as a nightmare when my wife case was put inAdmin Processing after her interview on Feb 23 it ended with best news was whenmy wife found out that she is pregnant in the first month after our marriage. Iam very blessed to have a lovely wife and the gift of baby from Allah in thesame year.

It has been a fantastic journey for me, there were timeswhen I doubted myself but thank god that we were strong and never wavered fromour commitment to each other.

Thanks again for all the support and well wishes from myfellow members.

Have a fantastic 2013.

Salmani
