ok thanks for the quick reply!

So you think I won't have to notify the immigration services about having a new baby so I can bring him/her to the us along with my wife while my wife's visa is pending?

Hi, I am a green card holder and would like to petition a visa for my wife who is living outside the US. I will be able to get my citizenship in like 8 months and I am thinking about petitioning a visa for my wife as a permanent resident and upgrade my status to US citizen afterwards.

1- Do you guys think that the time that the whole process would take  could be shorter than if I waited till I become a citizen and then petition for a spouse visa?

2 - If we get a baby while the visa's application is still pending what should I do?

Thank you in advance !

USCIS Service Centersi-130 upgrade after citizenship + newborn baby

Hi guys, I need your help to figure out what I am supposed to do after I become a US citizen. Here is a little background: I am current a LPR. On April 1st I filed an i-130 for my wife that is still not approved yet. My wife was pregnant back then and like 3 weeks ago she gave birth to a baby. 2 months ago, I applied for my citizenship, things are going smoothly so far and I should be receiving the notice for the interview in a couple days. Question is :  after I become a citizen and upgrade my i-130 is my baby still be considered a derivative to the beneficiary which is my wife? Otherwise am I gonna have to file a separate form for the baby? And if so does it take a while for the baby to get the visa?

Please take the time to enlighten me as I have no clue. Thank you!
