US Embassy and Consulate Discussion3 Years of Tax info for Interview
QUOTE (HY020 @ Mar 4 2009, 11:25 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I have IRS Tax transcripts for Tax year 2006 and 2007.

I have not done my 2008 tax return yet, so I send my Fiancée my a copy of my 2008 W-2 from. Will that be enough for my tax information?

Also for my financial info, I send an online print out of my bank balance, 3 recent pay stubs, notarized letter from employer with my employment status and salary info.

That should cover all my financial requirements right?

On my interview, the recent 1040 (2007) and w2 (2008) were asked from me... all others they didnt need to see.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionMY INTERVIEW EXPERIENCE AT USEM
QUOTE (bedirisinghe. @ Mar 3 2009, 12:27 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I had my Interview yesterday and it was a relief being done with it because it means that im now going to be with my fiance and to SPEND LIFE with him for the rest of our lives.

I am so thanlful on this site esp those who helped and gave me the information I needed. Thanks to Trisha and Liza whom I met on my medical til interview.
The process:
1. Arrived at the embassy at 6:00 A.M. but they're still not accepting K1 applicants. At 7:00
Called our group and fall in line.
2. Presented one valid ID and appointment letter.
3. Proceed to Gate 2 then went inside. The guard will tell you where and what will do. You will be called later and will submit forms DS-156, 156k, AND 157 and you will be given your ticket number then went back seated.
4. Finger scanning at window 16...my name was called around 8:30 am, i had twice finger scanning and i was so nervous then bcoz i was thinking that it might affect my visa. After finger scanning, back to set again and wait for your number to be flasged on screen.
5. My number was 7021 and i read my Number flashed on the board with the corresponding window where you need to go for pre-screening. I was assigned to window 21 and the pre screener is so nice but serious woman. She asked me in tagalog...thanks God hehe.
6. Pre-screener asked my BC, CENOMAR AND NBI and from my fiance are W2, ITR and Affidavit of support. She also asked our pictures but did not get it, just took a glance on it only.
She asked me about my fiance..where and when we met? his job, ex wives and daughter names. It took maybe 5 mins for me to answer all her questions including the time she reveiwed my papers...(dont worry, its normal to get nervous and tense, but one thing to bear in mind is, dont colapse hehe...just follow what she doing and always say yes mam..she always jotted down whatever your responces were.(She never asked my emails, chatlogs, remittances, receipts, this maybe one good thing to pay visa processing one month prior on your interview date.)
7 I sit again and waited for my number to be flashed on the scree with now the final interview with the consular officer wheeeh.
8. Went inside the room and sit down.
Interview with the consular officer
me: Good Morning...thanks God...he is nice and with smiling face around 50 already wearing eyeglasses)
consul: good morning! (his smile helped me to be calm and i smiled back to him)
me: calm
consul: raise your right hand and promise that you will tell the truth and nothing but the truth only etc...(raised my right hand)
consul: who petitioned you?
me: My fiance Path E.
consul: how did you meet?
me: We met at filipinaheart.com
consul: when did you met him?
me: I met him on July 07, 2007 (07-07-07)
consul: when did you met him personally?
me: I met him on June 12, 2008
consul: hhhmmmm, he is 58 and you are (secret hehe)
consul: how many child he has?
me: one
consul: is his daughter stay with him or mother?
me: with him bcoz her mother is already dead
consul: kids from her second wife?
me: none at all, only one from his first wife.
consul: look to our pictures...so, you are a teacher?
me: yes sir, for almost ---- yrs already.
consul: okey...your visa is now approved, but you have to repeat finger scanning bcoz i wrongly deleted it, wait for your number to be flashed again, and if ever you will not be called, ask window 38 of what you will do.
me: Praise God!...yes sir...(i was waiting for pink slip hehe, so i remain seated until he told me to take a seat outside and wait for my number to be flashed again for my second finger scanning...
me: THANK YOU SO MUCH SIR AND GOD BLESS YOU.
so, i went out and try to push the door to be opened, it cant be, so, i pulled hehe...cant be again...its an sliding door hehe. I went out and sit again, waited for my name to be called for rescanning.
9. Name was called....done the finger scanning.
10. went to window 38 and received pink slip and another sheet of paper.
11. Pay Air21 220.00 and filled up a form.
That's the whole process of my Interview..after paying AIR21, went out and headed to Hotel (Southern Cross Hotel,) about 100m away from USEM. Packed my things, called a taxi and then catch my flight for Tacloban. I had a safe flight and thank you to Trisha and Liza, (I also met Trisha husband and he is so nice)

GOOD LUCK TO ALL!

I was also approved yesterday.. i came ahead of you.. my number is 7014. My consul was a tall, old guy with glasses and having a cold hehehehe! After the interview i wasnt ask to finger scanning... i got the pink slip and paid air21.

Good luck.. actually the pic as long as the size is 2x2 and recognizable is okey... what i did... i filed the pic (i place it inside a small ziploc plastic with name on the back) after the 129F form.

The ID pic is just a basis on the other pictures you will attach to your petition.. just to know if you look the same as the other pictures you as attached as proofs of relationship.

Is it ok to have handwritten corrections in otherwise printed I-129F or G325a forms? Can that delayt the processing? Have there been any precedents of denying the application or requests for re-submissions due to this?

i handwrote all my forms.. i made a mistake and i just erase it properly. Erasures are no big deal with the visa centers.

No harm in trying...but not a lot gets pass the consul.... even old people who we dont suspect to be TNT'S in the US get denied... Good Luck!

i cant see anything wrong for using your own words with the letter of intent. U just have to prove you have plans to marry before the 90 days expires. Most importantly its an original handwritten or typed letter with signature your signature affixed.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion Regarding "Original" Evidence...
QUOTE (sammysam @ Jan 23 2009, 10:26 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
We're looking into all of the procedures and necessary paperwork that goes with filing for the K1 Visa at the moment, and one question we both came up to was this:

With all of his credit card statements, cell phone bills, plane tickets, etc being paperless (on-line and able to be printed at any time, multiple copies, etc), how does this coincide with having to bring original evidence to the interview? Technically, any copy we include into our initial packet will be just as original as anything we print out and bring to the interview.

Is this considered acceptable? So many things nowadays are done solely on-line, so how is all of the dealt with when it comes to the consulate?

And yes, silly me, I might be focusing on minute details, but after so, so much reading over the past month, I've noticed that the quicker timelines were those without any RFEs to speak of, and understandably so. I'm just trying to make sure he and I are as prepared as possible.

--

Also, I have to say how incredibly thankful I am that this place exists. I can't imagine all of those who went through this process without the aid/sympathy/support of everyone else on this website. Thank you so much to everyone who helps out, and I hope that I can do the same once my experience with all of this has expanded a little.

i can only share you what i did with our petition.

ALL evidences i attached were photocopies. The originals i sent to my bf in the US in case there is a RFE.

WE have been approved last Jan 9, 2009. Now im asking my bf to sent back all the originals that are with him for my interview in Manila soon.

*Phone bills, credit card bills- i sent a photocopy... to make it look neat i pasted it first on a bond paper and photocopied it. Phocopy i attached in the K1 petition, the original i sent to the bf in the US.

*Plane tickets and boarding pass ... same as above

*chats - just print some. not important with the K1 petition.

Continuing to put the I-129f packet together I was wondering if it mattered if I filled out files by using both a combination of typing and handwriting; such as handwriting dates, #ssn ect..... while typing mostly everything else.

Also, I have read mixed contradictions concerning which USCIS service office (Vermont or Texas) I send the packet too, I live in North Carolina......

Any knowledge would be much appreciated! Thanks, Josh

doesnt matter as long as they can read it... star_smile.gif

I did my papers competerized and his papers and the 129F handwritten. letters of intent were computer printed but with signatures. Doesnt really matter, its the intention and the sincerity.. that whats matters.

Do copies I send need to be certified? Who can certify copies of a passport?
Many take the original and copy to a Notary Public and have the copies "Notarized"

You can do this when you get your I-134 notarized.

Im a she and i prepared the k1 documents my bf sent to CSC. Let me share to you want i did.. it seems you are getting more confuse...

1. Original papers are these only: 129f, G325, Letter of intent from both of you ( bec. signatures should be in ink or signpen)

2. I sent ORIGINAL copies of our pictures together (6 pcs only)

3. All the rest of the documents are PHOTOCOPIES OF THE ORIGINAL... e.i... birth certificates, his passport stamps, plane tickets, hotel bills.. etc.

4. ORIGINALS OF THE ABOVE (bc, tickets etc.) I GAVE TO MY BF in case there is a RFE, but thank God there was none.

In your case since u sent some original documents.. ask ur gf to get a new BC from the National Census Office in Manila... If u sent in the original tickets, maybe you can show ur passport stamps later in the interview.. give her a photocopy of those pages or the whole passport itself.

I'd like to add something.. i didnt notarized any document. Also i made 2 exact duplicates of the whole K1 Package i sent to CSC.. One for myself and one for my bf.

Hope ive helped you.

1. when the NVC sent it to manila embassy how long the manila embassy will received it? Mine took 10 days.

2. how should we know that the manila embassy already received it ? do they send me letter ? the USEM IN MANILA will sent you a letter thru AIR 21... TELLING YOU that you can schedule your interview

3. wondering wen you calll the first time for appointment how soon will they schdule you for the interview. You will know at the very moment you get connected with the VISA CENTER CALL CENTER whether you call in Manila or Us coZ you will be the one choosing the date and if that date is available then it will be your interview date

Do they will schedule for interview right away or they will schedule you for medical exam.the visa center call center will schedule your interview depending on YOUR PREFERED DATE .. Medical you just go ON YOUR OWN. at the st Lukes' clinic at least 1 week before your interview date

question 18 extra letter
g325 and picture for petitioner
g325 and picture for benificiary
copy of petitioners birth certificate
intent to marry letter from petitioner
intent to marry letter from beneficiary
check for 455
5 or so photos from the past 2 years
phone bills

I just have one question....
1) we only live 4 hrs apart, therefore we always drive to see eachother, so we do not have any visa stamps or boarding passes, what more evidence should we provide to make sure everything is okay...

thank you very much for your help... this forum is fabulous smile.gif

Include in your supplemental letter for question no. 18 that you just live 4 hrs apart... that justifies some concerns on the visa stamps and plane tickets... Make a short story about it. It will help if the consul wonders why there are no plane tickets included or even hotel bills.

That is not true, to submit the i129F petition the letter does not have to be an original, your fiance will just have to present the original at her interview.

Also I am wondering when she interviews they will know that she does not speak English so won't it look funny that she signed a statement that she obviously couldn't write or even read? I don't know if this will be a problem, I just think it will look funny.

I dont know about Uganda's embassy, but in Manila the 129F and G325 included in the K1 petition package should be signed in its original form. Signatures must be in ink not a photocopy of the original. And we dont need those form at the interview.

I did the K1 petition package in the philippines and sent it to my bf to be mailed to CSC. I just read the procedures, ASK the forums, double/triple check the finished paper works and then sent it off to the BF. Its just 1/2 of an inch thick. i included her kids name on the application. Is that mean that they are part of the petition also?
My question is what they need to do back home? What they need to gather?I dont think they have a passport yet.
Anyone here can give me some advice?thanks..

To make it simple... The kids are the K2 derivatives. If u like them to fly out with thier mom when she goes to the US, they will derive their visas from the K1 visa of thier mom. But since the kids (as you have said) doesnt have a passport yet they may follow within 1 yr of ur gf arrival in the US. Acutually its so easy to have a passport now in Manila, with some patience i bet the kids can go with thier mom. Goodluck!

THANK YOU EVERYBODY! I can sleep tonight haha.

That's exactly what I thought about the tickets also. I figured I proved we've met (several) times over the past few years. Now for the interview I have LOTS of photos and MSN records I'm working on now. Hopefully, I'll start just calling straight through with my phone for references because I usually buy phone cards (I save them all though) but they don't exactly give a good representation of who and when.

Anyway, I was worried because my fiance read otherwise about having the original boarding passes at the interview. I'll have to let him know in the morning that we're okay haha.

Seriously though, thanks blush.gif

The London Embassy doesn't bother to look at any of your relationship evidence, the originals they will want to see are birth certificate, police certificate etc and they will want the affadavit of support and evidence for that. I took some phone records, e-mails, photos etc and they didn't want to see any of it, you'll find the same reported by others interviewed at London so don't go overboard with reams of paper.

What happens in visa interview at a given Embassy or Consulate varies tremendously on a case by case basis. So, please don't make blanket statements about what will happen in somebody else's interview based on one interview experience.

That requires a BIG DITTO!! Case by case. LOTS of people are denied do to lack of proof of a bona fide relationship.

at the manila consulate, i guess much weight is given to the financial status of the american citizen bf. They dont bother to look at the chats, emails etc. That is the job of the service centers back in the US. They asked for the pictures and browse through it though.

Hey guys I sent in the I 129F and G325A with Passport photos of her and me with the names marked on the back of them. And several pictures of us together but none of the pictures has any markings or dates on the back of them. Will this be an issue?

Also I didn't send it with a cover letter and out letters of intent really didnt look like the ones posted up in the examples. So, I'm scared they will send it back.

I mean, I've sent in everything filled out correctly, I hope that was all I needed at the time. Will it get accepted now??

AS long as the documents are arranged in the way you have written in the cover letter i think all will be fine. I just hope you put tabs below for easy sorting of the USCIS.
