United Kingdom	Driving help - MA!!!	You have a year in MA to drive on your foreign VALID license. As it is expiring then it won't be valid so you can't use it. Here: http://www.mass.gov/...ternational.htm The other issue is at what point MA considers you a "resident of MA" and at what point that means you can no longer drive on a foreign license. Also, apply for you license ASAP because they won't accept your I-94 once it's expired AND it doesn't say anywhere how long your license will be made valid for. It might only be valid till the I-94 expires... just bear that in mind. I wasn't able to drive for quite some time, one of the negatives of a K1. You don't have a year to drive on your UK license in MA.. You have 90days, you also have to ensure you are added to the insurance incase something happens.... I added my fiance before we got married as she was driving her car around and wanted to ensure we were covered... The written test in MA is easy if you study, the part that will be hard if not studied is the questions on alcohol, drunk driving and alike.... You will need to know the rules and penalties for each.. Pla (Churawan) was able to get through it only because she studied for it... Then schedule your road test ASAP, you will need a licensed driver with you in the backseat and a car with a hand brake for the roadtest.... Good luck!!!! And if your license is expired it is not valid so be careful, if you have a valid license than you can use it and the permit to drive yourself while practicing... US Citizenship General Discussion	cash job	USCIS is not the IRS. If you've been paying taxes and can supply proof then it ought to be ok. Off topic: What could be bad for you is if this job ends and you need to collect unemployment. The employer isn't paying in for you, so you won't be able to collect. It also has other potential impacts such as Social Security benefits. But not immigration related. Very valid and good points to consider.... SS and unemploymrnt benefits are something to consider.. Workman's comp is another thing if you got injured on the job... When can we start the N-400 process, 3/13 or 10/13???? She actually arrived a few months before we got married, is it POE or wedding date or GC issue date that the clock triggers off of????? What is Brazil's stance on this.. You will just keep both passports current and you will be fine if allowed to do so.. They used "Faneuil Hall" which is the birthplace of the American Revolution... Neat to be in such an historic site for this special day!!!! This all behind us now and we are done... US Citizenship General Discussion	N-400 July 2013 Filers	INTERVIEW IS FINALLY OVER!!! One more step to go...   The officer who interviewed me was very nice and accomodating. The interview took less than 15 minutes then she finally gave me the paper stating that I passed the interview and that I should be receiving an oath taking ceremony letter by May. Hopefully, I will be scheduled for the oath earlier than May as I have plans to visit my grandfather who is very sick and he wishes that we can see him before he goes. How long did you guys wait for your oat taking after your interview? Anybody?     You can go visit your grandfather now as the interview info they gave you was for a May date... Regardless you can travel now and have someone check your mail for the letter... They will give you some notice when they send it, so I would say at least a month at the earliest... No issue with travel after the interview... They ask a question on the oath letter "did you travel since your interview? yes or no" no question about length of stay or number of times.... US Citizenship General Discussion	N-400 July 2013 Filers	Churawan (Pla)'s interview is complete and she passed with flying colors!!! The day went as follows, left house at 6AM for a 8:10AM appointment, Boston traffic ate up over half of my 1 hour cushion. We arrive at the bldg. at 0740, checked in after security screening. Sat down in waiting area at 0802, 8 mins to spare... 0812 Pla was called in and was back out in 15mins less I think but I forgot to check my watch.... Questions asked were 1)what does the presidents cabinet do 2)Name a branch of the Govt. 3)How many justices sit on the supreme court 4) What did the Declaration of independence do 5) how many years does a Senator get elected for 6) If the Pres and VP are both dead who takes over the President role... None were what I would call easy, she was approved for the next step which is waiting on Oath, we were hoping for same day but no luck... She was told 1-2 months on the Oath... Vacation time in Thailand for us both... Thank You everyone for all the advice and support on this long and sometimes troubled journey!!!!!!... Last step to come and we are good to go.. US Citizenship General Discussion	N-400 July 2013 Filers	Received the yellow letter today, saying that I need to bring my state-issued driver's license or state issued photo identification card to my interview. I wasn't expecting this as I have not had a biometrics appointment. Has this happened to anyone else? When I did my InfoPASS on my lost BIO letter, the guy told me they have the option to use your existing bio info if less than 6 months old, that may be what they have done for you... So we walked over to the office bldg where they do the Bios at... They said they don't normally do walk ins, but they were sympathetic to our situation with no real line... So we sweet talked our way in... Now we wait for the interview date!!! These delays have us 6 weeks behind the crowd... So I call the USCIS CS line, total waste of time as usual, they tell me I have to wait till 30days after the initial sending date to request a new letter ... God knows it doesn't take 30 days to get 50mi to my house from Boston ... This last phase of our journey has gotten off to a very slow start, glad it isn't urgent on a timeline..... USPS SUCKS!!! they couldn't deliver it so they rerouted it 2 times back to me and then back to Texas, amazing.. Well today I finally got it all back and sent it by FedEx, which I should have done in the first place.. SO we are 2 weeks behind the curve now.. They will get it on the 30th instead of the 17th.. I don't know how to add my stuff to the charts.. (Had the same issue with the ROC) some nice person kept my info up to date as I added it along our journey... Thanks!!!! Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	About to mail my ROC docs, am I missing/forgetting anything????	You need a copy of both passports also.... I just recently posted what I sent in the July filers link.. It was pretty straight forward... I grouped topics together and either stapled them or paper clipped multiples in a given topic, like taxes.. I left the 6 affidavate letters unstapled and paper clipped them as they are originals and legal documents.. I put all items in the order of the cover letter i attached to the bundle... You will get an acknowledgement letter from them that acts as your 12 month extension ubtil you get your new GC... I wouldn't try and mess with the tax returns especially if it is a multi page return..
